I don’t think it was all about loyalty with Dante and Alpha, although that is a part of it. I think he truly believed in her philosophy. He may have even believed in this savage way of living, not living with walkers but just the cut-throat minimalist avoiding luxuries lifestyle, before he encountered the Whisperers. He really believed the Alexandria way of existing was making people weaker and reducing odds of survival. That was a lot of Walkers in there. It looked like thousands. I’m not sure they could have killed them all before they died of thirst. They only found water after they did the rock jumping thing. The other issue is as you kill the Walkers, you can only kill those nearest to you. As you kill them they fall to ground. Eventually you are going to create a ramp made of dead bodies. The Walkers will climb on top of the dead ones until they reach you. They could already almost reach them as it is. It wouldn’t take too many of dead walkers until they would be able to reach them. Damn, I thought for sure we were going to lose Jerry there. Yeah, sweaty dynamite is a sign that it is becoming unstable. Poor Daryl, he lost his only love interest in the series. And all because of Carol, and after she promised not to do that stuff anymore to Daryl. Will he be able to forgive her?
