Hey Shan are we recording, I think the themes of this episode are aging and growing up. It starts with a basketball game and Cox throwing out his back and not being able to stand up and ends with Elliot doing everything right and finally getting her sink or swim moment and failing but I think the lesson is can you take the hit and stand up tall afterwards. Have you had your sink or swim moment? At the beginning with the green screen and Turk jumping out the car, the stock footage of the car accident is from ‘Vanilla sky’ Yes! The Janitor was in ‘The Fugitive’ and is credited as ‘Neil Flynn’ which means the janitors name is Neil Flynn. On streaming they removed Zack doing blackface when he’s kissing Elliot as Turk in a fantasy cutaway. You can’t have funny things today. I choose to find this funny others choose to get upset that’s why I’m happy than them. I love that you can watch this show and see the parallels from your younger life on screen. Like when Elliot was fuckin with JD last week, was it a power play coz she knows he likes her? No, probably not coz she’s too ditzy. Does JD even like Dani or is he using her to get over Elliot? These are some of the real situations I’ve been in when I was younger. Some real good shit here on Scrubs easy two roses. JJ out.

OK, did you catch that the song they were singing about Turk doing the solo surgery was a play on old 1971 TV series Shaft. I like how they took a five second scene from movie the actor playing the Janitor, Neil Flynn, was in and used it in the show. Meta. (BTW, the movie is The Fugitive, great movie) The guy that Elliot was treating played a Doctor on The Love Boat.

2026-10-21 09:00 Hi. Shan. I only saw "The Fugitive" maybe 3 times but did not know Neil Flynn (the janitor) was in that movie. One of Elliot's male patient Mr. Moran (Bernie Kopell) played a ships doctor on "The Love Boat" for 250 episodes. One thing i liked about "Love Boat" all the main guest were "A" list stars from other tv shows and movies. Watch the love boat and you might just see a young "John Ritter" or "Bill Bixby" - "the original Hulk" or a 9 year old "Tori Spelling" guest starring on her dads tv series "Aaron Spelling".--love boat.

The Janitor was awesome in this episode, nice surprise that he was an actor at one time in his life and used the real footage of him in The Fugitive. He spoke in different accents which I found funny, at least he didn't try an austrailian accent, although I love bad austrailian accents. Seeing Dr. Cox and Carla together made me happy, I love their freindship.
