I want to thank everyone for being so patient with me on this journey. We are finished. The show is done. I am honestly so thankful and so pleased with the community that this show has introduced me to I just can't find the words to express it.

Now that the show is over, I expect a lot of people to leave - and that's fine, I completely understand. I love you all the same.

Thank you Shan for such a great journey! You have no idea how much I have enjoyed rewatching this series - all thanks to you and your wonderful reactions! Hoping this episode didn't wreck you like it did me. Take care.

Kelly Marie

First off I wanted to Thankyou Shan for allowing us to join you through this journey. I love this show so much and because of that I’m very picky with reactors so when I first saw you react to “welcome to the hellmouth” in December of 2017 I was a bit weary but after the first ep finished I was hooked. I can’t believe it’s finally over and I’m most likely going to eat my feelings with a nice tub of ice cream. The only consolation is that we have one more season of Angel. This episode is amazing, Buffy is literally the strength that keeps them together because when she got stabbed and fell, the others started to fall, when she got back up, the others did too. Anyas death was so out of the blue and incredibly sad but Spikes death literally made me feel like I lost a limb or something. Bring on Season 5 of Angel, too keen ❤️

Shaun Stacy

Can't wait to watch and cry along with you. Buffy is my all-time favorite show so thank you for taking the time to react, you've clearly come to love it as much as the rest of us. Also, I'll be sticking around for a while since you're still doing Angel, Agents of SHIELD and Vampire Diaries. 😁

Claire Eyles

Thank you for the amazing journey, & for getting to experience watching Buffy again for the first time, even if it was through someone else's eyes. I will see you for Angel S5 and I've started watching a few of the other shows you're reacting to as well, so I'll be around for a bit longer. Thank you again, you are awesome. <3

Jarrod Wild

I have no reason to leave. You've got Agents of SHIELD and the Arrowverse to keep me entertained, plus all those pilot reactions. :) And there's still S5 of Angel to get through!

Holi117

I am about to watchAngel 4x22 then the buffy vids but I just wanted to say what an absolute pleasure its been joining you on your buffy journey! I have laughed and cried with you, and its been like getting to experience it for the first time again. Thank you for all the time and effort! Now to watch the videos 😊💖

The Movie Guru

Not going anywhere, I'll always try a new show with you. Plus, I'm still watching the arrowverse and agents of shield with you.

Brian Søndergaard

gonna start with arrow, never saw ANY of it, so completely new. Andone know if I am in for a ride?:)

Rafael Lemus

End of an era. Thank you for including all of us in your Buffy journey!

o

There is only Angel left that you watch, that I watch, but you will still get my support because the parallels of Buffy's journey and yours are just way to similar to ignore. Thank you for an incredible ride. Thank you for "FoReilly", Thank you for reminding me how much this show matters to me. Thank you for helping me see it again anew. You definitely were not "Shirty".......

Juan Torres

Thanks Shan for making it so much fun to rewatch my favorite show, I’m only on Patreon because of you and will remain because of you,I can’t imagine not being able to watch something with you as you always make me laugh and help ease the stress that life sometimes brings anytime I ‘spend time’ with you....I think you’re the best and I look forward to all that’s to come

o

I am here for the "punching bag", the Speech, "Vi" going all badass and the sacrifice.......Why am I already tearing up?

o

One more thing with Disney's acquiring 20th Century Fox and Disney debuting a streaming service in the Fall. One of the things Disney is looking at is a Buffy reboot with members of the original cast coming back. It was talked about last year and is gathering steam. So this may not be the end.

FernWithy

It was great to watch the series again with you, Shan. And yeah... we were all sopping puddles of goo the first time around, too. (I generally still am.) The stabbing of Buffy worked because OMG, it was the finale, and they COULD do that. But then Spike... oh... I loved the waking-the-potentials speech.

Bixgirl1

Still here and have no plans to leave! It was wonderful watching the series with you -- thank you so much for bringing the love of these shows back the way I once felt it. ❤❤

Freddy Bowman

Right there with you Shan on your reaction to the finale. I was really broken up over Spike dying. Anya, not so much. But Spike going out like he did was moving and it really touched me deeply. And yes, when Buffy was stabbed they had me! They really did. I thought she was going to die. Normally a show can't trick me like that, but with this being the finale they absolutely had me there. What a fantastic finish to a truly fantastic series. Thank you again, Shan, for allowing us to enjoy it with you! Looking forward to other reactions as well. Take care. :)

o

hahahaha Buffy: "We're going to win" Shan: Yeah we are...........how?

Brian Søndergaard
>>22129589

Spike, broken, yes, buffy getting stabbed, thought she was done for too. But no love for Anya, got cut down, not lotta time spent with her death/body, as to show the shock of combat with many "lesser" casulties? Well I did

o

Doily is a fancy coaster, normally it is knitted and at Grand Ma's house

o

It was the 2nd episode of the first season

Tammy L. Faulkner

This was great... I've predicted your reaction for every scene correctly. I know your reactions and emotional state when it came to Buffy. I have watched every reaction... Once More With Feeling once... Or twice. Your love for the characters has been memorable to say the least and it was awesome to rewatch one of my top 10 shows of all time with you. I still plan to send you a little something in the mail, its just taking a lot longer to... Get it situated than I planned, life and all😁 waiting for your new adventures to start and as always hoping you'll really attempt DW someday. We love ya Shan and am here always.

o

Every damn time. I am good until the abused girl stops that shit and the little nervous girl at bat ...... smiles.......

Allan Cornett

Don’t be embarrassed. I have seen the entire series multiple times and I still get all the feels from this episode. Buffy turned out to be smarter than anybody else. I won’t be watching the movie reaction. The movie is nothing like the series. The people who made the movie just didn’t get what Joss was aiming for.

o

And Spike for the Final time.......knocks down the Sunnydale sign.

o

Spike was not the Hero.......Spike was the Champion!!!!!! Thank you for this.

John Boehmer

It probably won't console you much but did you happen to catch what Buffy's last line of the series was? "Spike."

Gareth

What an incredible journey, i rewatch the buffyverse atleast once a year, but watching it with you made it even more special. you won't be losing me as you're still doing AOS, Angel, The originals & new shows to come and i'm looking forward to them!

Khanach

Since this looks like the time for sharing, I’ll do it too. I’ll try to be concise, but don’t hold me by my word on that. I want to thank you, Shan, and all the other people involved in creating this videos, for making the impossible possible: experience something you love for the first time TWICE; even better, since I stumbled upon one of your videos on Youtube (back then I didn’t even know reaction channels were a thing), I immediately felt comfortable with you, like I was sharing my favorite show with a long-time friend, despite language, cultural and generational disparities. I watch other reactors now, I enjoy some, love a few, but I never felt the same again. So, again, thanks, to you and to everyone that made this journey possible, including my fellow patrons here. Needless to say, I’m not going anywhere either. I’m looking forward to whatever you do next (may I suggest rewatching some episodes with the commentary audio track?) Buffyverse related or otherwise. As long as you keep creating, I’ll keep watching. Yep, that’s who I am, concise and to the point 😛

MittenCrab

127 Buffy episodes in 507 days. An average of 3.99 days between episodes, or just under 2 eps per week. You've set an incredible pace, but it's never felt like you've been any less than 100% invested in the series. It's been an absolute joy to watch your reactions - I have every one saved as I'm sure I'll be watching them for years to come. Thank you for sharing your Buffy journey with the world, and the professional way in which you've released and scheduled your reactions. I know the monthly payment to Patreon isn't a subscription...but if it were, it's the best value for money I've ever spent on entertainment. Thank you for making what was old new again.

tomsgalacticemporium

Another not going anywhere! Thank you for everything. It has been a blast reliving this show with you and I cannot wait for season 5 of Angel. I hope you love it!

Holi117

Finally able to watch this one... im already tearing up... i have seen this a hundred times and i still bawl my eyes out... im excited and nervous to watch now!!

Nick Velasquez

I’ve loved seeing this show through your eyes. Unfortunately when season 7 originally aired Emma was not quiet about the fact that she was done with the show, if it continued or not. From 7x3 I was expecting her to die and there were several times they made it seem like she was going to, but saved it for the finale. There were other things that we’re spoiled by “next week on” and stuff like that. I feel like you got the better experience. I would also HIGHLY recommend you NOT WATCH the opening credits for the first episode of season 5 of Angel.

Paul Gibson

I haven't watched this yet but I wanted to say I won't be going anywhere, the community you have brought together through your reactions is amazing, and I now count a lot of people I'm never likely to meet as personal friends. You should feel very proud and happy. I'm honoured to be a member of your scooby team x

4Tom4lepus4

I will lowkey never forgive the show for killing off Anya, esp in the way they did. But booooooooooy, what a ride it's been! Between Juli finishing TVD and you finishing Buffy, I don't know what I will do with my time anymore... Probably rewatching the reactions or sth :D But I can't wait for Angel season 5!

Holi117
>>22131388

144 buffy episodes. And how many Angel so far? I can't think on the spot lol

Holi117
>>22132207

SMG was the most done. Her 7 year contract ended and she was finished. She told Joss midway through s6 I think? Otherwise he might have gone on... but he felt without 'Buffy' it would be a whole new show, so he let it finish... I'm so saddened. Even now. I wish Buffy had been able to keep going a bit longer!

Mike Woodcock

Rest in peace, William. You earned it.

Claire Eyles

I really wished they'd been able to do what Joss had planned when part of the ending was going to be Buffy getting one wish for saving the world, and her wishing Tara back to life. Just unfortunate that Amber Benson wasn't available for filming, because that would've been awesome.

ThatGuy11200

Time to go back and watch all your reactions again.

Chaotic Cam

I've watched this so many times, but I still cried with you, lol. Such a journey! I've loved watching your reactions from the start, and as someone said before me, I too joined patreon to watch your reactions! You're amazing, Shan, and while Buffy is over I'll still be here for your Angel reactions, and when Angel is over, I'll still be here for more to come! :D

HuntingSwan

Shan, I'm so proud of you! You have been a great friend to rewatch these episodes with! But more than that, you've set the benchmark for any other Buffy reactor. You kept a regular and full schedule that left me no reason to complain or feel I ever wasted my money. You were always my top priority to keep because of that. Any other Buffy reactors will have to do the same for me or they won't get my full support. I can't promise I'll stay subscribed because money is tight but I KNOW that with your work ethic, you won't have to worry about getting new patrons for your shows. There's so many fanbases out there that would love to see you do their shows! I love you.

HelloPatreon

effulgent: shining brightly; radiant, (of a person or their expression) emanating joy or goodness. Spike/William really has come full circle. He stood in the full light of the sun, his soul was what powered the amulet.

Jason Veevaert

I can’t believe were actually here

Tom Tattershall

I plan on being a patron for some time to come. I came for Buffy like so many others but enjoy many of your other reactions. Flash especially but also AOS and many of the pilots. Looking forward to Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow and of course Angel Season 5.

Emma goldsbrough

This is amazing journey to go with you. Loving the soundtrack on the finale battle at the end. Didn't make much sense how the super vamps that Buffy had trouble at first killing but at the end Dawn and Giles etc managed to killed them. At least we still have Angel season 5. Thank you for reaction to one of my fav shows, thank you.

Jarrod Wild

"I want you to get out of my face!" Took me several rewatches to finally get that joke. Good one Joss. :)

Jon Dub

Not going anywhere in the immediate Shan. Still got Angel season 5 and the Arrowverse...lots of good times ahead

Scarlett Monrow

I'm not going anywhere. In my opinion, you are one of top 3 tv reactors on all YouTube. And there are a lot of great tv shows out there that need to be watched by you!

Walter Alcaraz

As long as you do the ArrowVerse shows, I'm still here. :)

Daveangels

a bittersweet ending, i was also soo sad, after seeing Spike go at the end, then and now through you..

Scarlett Monrow

Shannan, have you considered rewatching some of the best Buffy episodes and react to them, now that you know where the characters are going and what's ahead? It might be interesting and will help with Buffy withdraw. Oh, rewatch your own reactions for the best episodes!

Bellatronics

I haven't started either episode yet, but before I do - a big hug and a blankie for you Shan. I hope you had the tissues ready :'(

Hans Olav

Great reaction. I both hate and love that empty feeling in the stomach when you first realize something great is over. But with these shows, the best time is the second time. Rooting for a rewatch!

Pate

Aw girl. You'll be finishing Buffy, the current MCU, Firefly (Serenity), and Game of Thrones all at the same time. If I were you I'd take a weekend off to go to the beach or something. It's been SOOOO fun watching you discover Buffy ✧･ﾟ:* \(◠ヮ◠✿)/ *:･ﾟ✧*: Sadistically what stands out for me as a highlight is your horror watching Passion. But finding out about and experiencing the musical is up there too ;D

Bruce Trogdon

This show continues to get better with age. Someone once said that the most important word in the title of this episode is the word that is missing. There are still plenty of stories to be discovered on rewatch and some plot points from earlier seasons which may flesh out some of the stories you've seen. For example, I really love the parallels (or reverse parallels) in this episode with plot points from “The Gift,” “Primeval,” “Graduation Day” and “Becoming”. Thanks for letting us watch along with you. It's has been great and I'm looking forward to more Angel.

CaptainNice
>>22129346

It would be wild if the reboot started 20-ish years after 7x22. Doesn't sound like that's what they're doing.

CaptainNice

Please react to the "Trogdor the Burninator" episode of Strongbad. Only a couple minutes long and you really want the backstory of the monster who was beating up Giles Dwarf. :)

CaptainNice

You did it. Very cool. I'm interested to see what "related" stuff your mods have lined up. I'm sure they have, and I don't even want to mention titles to avoid spoilers. I love how 7x22 feels like the end of the show. This might be my favorite episode of any show. Wearing the original reaction top was a nice callback, thanks for that. The guys who invented the internet didn't figure this is how we'd be using it in the future... :)

Shadowsluke

I can't realize you finished Buffy... what a journey! I was there for Buffy and Angel. Will stay for Angel. I don't like the other shows I must say (unfortunately), but I know I can't leave that easily even after the end of Angel, because you are still my favorite reactor :)

Melazond

This has definitely been one of the weirder things I've paid money for, but I have no regrets and you have been a delight. Something I look forward to and actually fucked off a bunch of stuff I had to do to watch this with you! Now my eyes are red and makeup is all runny and I have to go out! but I couldn't wait!! Thank you for letting us into your life, and being so much fun!

Richard Lucas
>>22132720

I was so sad for Anya’s death. I know Joss was making a point. That in war, people die, and sometimes it’s barely noticed or honored.

Richard Lucas
>>22133318

I hadn’t heard that. This was the only episode where I can tolerate Kennedy at all. I missed Tara like the sister I never had, had died. Hurt so very very much.

Richard Lucas
>>22135566

I think they had too many. One for each duo should have gotten through. It still would have been stretching it, but each duo fighting a bunch each?

Zoot!

One day I watched a random Buffy-related video on Youtube, and received a recommendation for an ASR reaction. I think it was What's My Line Part 1 with "I'm Kendra. The vampire slayer!" and your reaction to that moment hooked me. So I detoured back to 1x1 and started watching from the start. I started looking forward to those twisty moments so I can see what it's like to relive them for the first time. What an amazing way to rewatch an old favorite show of mine - I honestly felt I was watching it with new eyes at times. Thank you for sharing your honest and fun reactions with us! And I just want to say I noticed that it was the same shirt as 1x1 about 2 minutes before you said it, and I'm so happy it was on purpose! lol Anyways, cheers and I look forward to many more reactions to come!

Zoot!
>>22134157

Wow, I don't think I've connected that before. Awesome.

J.D.

So I guess you've already watched Serenity then?

David Caine

What a ride this show became and I never expected to be so good, more than that, I never expected it to be so special. It was great fun rewatching it here alongside Angel.

Will Crow

After all the Whedonverse goodness we've gotten used to these last few months (3 at once), now it's just Angel left to finish off. This has been a ride.

Carrie Drovdlic

Thank you Shan. I really enjoyed watching that with you. At one point I even said "oh Shannan!" because you were so sad. I came to the channel to watch Buffy. I will stay for Angel, Serenity, and Dollhouse.

Lisa Irv

I can't believe you're finished! Thanks for sharing your reactions, they were always full of the joy and sadness I remember feeling as a first time watcher and still feel every single time I put this amazing show on. If you ever want to get hyped you can just listen to that score from the finale, The Final Fight by Robert Duncan.

Bellatronics

I can’t believe this is over. Shan, you kept saying how you weren’t ready for this to end. I really wasn’t ready for your reactions to end and this journey with you to be over. I’ve had a lot going on in life recently, family stuff, and though I was still watching your reactions, I was mostly too knackered to comment, and somehow, this kinda crept up on me - or rather the last few eps rushed by. And because we have a season of Angel to go, and I love Angel season 5, and I’m still gonna be with you - I have all of your Supernatural reactions to watch now! ( as well as other stuff) - I wasn’t emotionally prepared for how I’d feel at you finishing Buffy. :’( I have absolutely loved your reactions Shan, and since Buffy is still my favourite show of all time, I am really gonna miss them (watching your Angel reactions won’t be quite the same). I was with you right from the beginning on Youtube. Well, maybe not quite - I think I may have been about 2 weeks late in finding your 1x01 reaction, and was on Patreon from the start of your full reactions. It seems that nearly all the comments are about this - our love for your reactions, the journey with you and it’s end. So I really wanna say some things about this amazing episode, in next comment.

Nicolas Cardillo

WHAT??? THEY KILL SPIKE!! This is it. I'm Done with this show, Rage quitting.

Bellatronics

Big hugs and sharing of grief over Spike’s death. I bawled my eyes out the first time I watched Spike die. I felt empty like I was grieving a real person for a week after. (!!) He died a hero saving the world though - as you noted, Giles didn’t expect that eh! I love the moment when Buffy gives Spike the amulet. “Angel said the amulet was meant to be worn by a champion.” Spike looks down and away. Buffy gives him the amulet. <3 <3 Willow’s spell was effing incredible, and her going all white witch godessy was beautiful. I love that we see by the end of the show that Willow can be powerful by tapping into light energy, not darkness. Buffy’s idea of empowering all the Potentials is groundbreaking and I love it. It’s very powerful. However, there were so many Uber Vamps that even having a couple dozen slayers would not have won the battle, and Spike’s blasting them away with sunlight defo saved the world. I love the flamey hands and Buffy’s ‘I love you’, though not exactly surprised at Spike’s response. I can see why the flamey hands got you upset Shan, as it does indicate final moment type stuff. So maybe I felt the same first time round? I can’t remember, as I find it a beautiful moment now, though also very emotional as part of Spike’s dying scene of course. Ok, Joss has a thing for big earthquakey sinkholes appearing and swallowing a town! ( First Avengers film! I was like, hey Joss got a bigger budget and he likes doing this :D). That’s one hellva way to close a Hellmouth. In closing the Hellmouth, Spike knocked over a Welcome to Sunndydale sign for the 3rd time. ( A bit of a flippant comment I know, so soon after Shan has watched Spike die, but still, I love this detail !! ). Other lighthearted moments: Angel being 12. Lol. “Now it’s all the cool new thing.” :D ( I do love this humour, but this and the kiss are very out of place with what has just happened on Angel, him giving up his son and everything they’ve been through.) And I heart Spike’s little drawing of Angel on his punching bag, with hair that ’sticks straight up’, cross eyes and wee fangs :D I’m totally with Buffy on the wrestling that could involve oil <3 - I’m a long time Spangel shipper :D :D This is an awesome finale. I think it’s my favourite finale, though often ties with The Gift. A brilliant episode - and all the feels that Shan you were appreciating how great this ep is through your tears <3 <3 One thing I’m not so keen on - Anya’s death is over a bit quick, a bit of a shocker for a main character. But then if Xander had found her body for a grieving moment that I would have liked, he may have been too grief distracted to get outta the school before it collapsed. At least her death was acknowledged with Andrew & Xander’s few words by the bus. I do wish there’d been a brief line about Spike from someone, in addition to Buffy’s one word answer of ‘Spike’ to Giles asking. I really like the optimism at the end about the future, but that results in it seeming that no-one but Buffy cares. Maybe they don’t as most of the Scoobies didn’t get to see much of how souled Spike had changed. Ok, a lot about Spike here, so I have to finish with - How badass is Buffy with that scythe!! Oh yeah, also - I heart Caleb’s balls first death, lol. Thank you Shan for all you have given us with all your Buffy reactions!!

Talmet

While I love the finale....it does have one really big plot hole that I just can't get over. We've seen that Buffy (whose been training for 7 years as a slayer) struggled with one UberVamp, and it almost killed her....and yet, in the finale, the UberVamps all suck. I mean, Anya is killing them with one swipe of a sword (she literally takes out two UberVamps, with two swings)... It is never explained how any of the "potentials" who just got their powers, are able to hold their own against UberVamps either.... Basically, for "reasons" (which are never explained) the UberVamps suddenly are easy to kill. Of course, the "reasons" are that the UberVamps that we saw earlier in the season would have killed everyone in like 30 seconds....

Bellatronics
>>22129115

I love Vi ! She's my favourite Potential - of course, she's Felicia Day! And so glad she survived. And I too love that she's the one we first see go badass.

Andrew Pulrang

One of the best finales on television! And thanks Shan for all your hard work and emotional labor. It's been a pleasure going through Buffy again with you. I'll stick with your Patreon for the time being ... maybe get into one or two of the other shows you react to. And there's still a season left of Angel, and I've never watched it. So I'll watch it along with you.

FernWithy
>>22147097

That never bugged me much. Like anything else, killing the ubervamps would get easier as there was more training. Like Buffy learning that she couldn't let Caleb touch her and then being able to fight him, they'd all learned not to waste time trying to randomly stake them with a footlong stake, to go for the beheading when possible, and to use their agility. Just like in the first season, Buffy sometimes struggled with normal vamps. I also get the idea from how quickly Buffy recovered from her stab wound that maybe Willow's spell was also something of a power-up from normal Slayer strength. In Season 5, it took her most of the day to recover from getting hit in the gut with her own stake.

FernWithy

Oh, you looked a little confused at Angel's "Scrubbing Bubbles" line. Its from these old commercials:

Talmet
>>22147751

Really? Season 5 of Angel is one of my favorite seasons of the show....however, I know some people don't like it as much. Also, after Season 4 suckage, I know a bunch of people who stopped watching and didn't see season 5 until years later.

Bellatronics

Shan - a recommendation of a very wee little Buffy related thing to react to. Or, if not a reaction, then here’s the link to go watch it anyway, because it’s awesome as hell. The Animated Adventures of Buffy - is a short animated tribute/fanvid. I say fanvid because this is not officially endorsed in any way.. However, it is made by fantastic professional comic artist Stephen Byrne, who does beautiful work. And also happens to adore Buffy. This Buffy animation is one of the best fanworks I have ever seen. It is a real joy. On Youtube it has 794,179 views and 8.6K likes. I’m not giving the link to that though, incase there are any Angel related suggested vids shown on the page. So here is the link to it on Stephen Byrne’s facebook page where there are no spoilery links to anything Angel. https://www.facebook.com/ArtworkOfStephenByrne/videos/ Enjoy!

Jarrod Wild
>>22129962

It was the 2nd half of the pilot episode. The pilot originally aired as one episode and then as tends to be tradition with 2-hour pilots, it got split into two episodes. That's why the "Welcome to the Hellmouth" ending is this awkward freeze frame.

The Answer

look on the bright side we still have Angel season 5

Khanach
>>22138926

You misspelled her name! You might want to edit that, she has a scythe now! :p

Johnny Coleman

So the first time I watched this my brother (who had already seen it and loves to "fake" spoil things for me) pointed out that the show was cancelled 3 times. The first time she was prophesied to die and actually died if only for a few minutes, the second time she was told that the only thing she could give was death and actually died and this time she has been told time and time again that she can't win so my brother had me convinced going in that she would lose. When she was stabbed and the battle turned I straight up thought to myself, they're going to lose and season five of angel is going to be a bunch of new slayers learning from Wesley (the last of the watchers) and fighting with angel against the first. You know that a show is good when they subvert your expectations by not killing off the main character.

Beauty Effulgent

You can't get rid of me that easy Shan. I'll still be along for the ride of Angel, Game of Thrones, and Dollhouse :) I'm heartbroken that this chapter has ended, but excited for the new ones to come. Thank you for all of the hard work and dedication you put into this channel. It's been an incredible journey reliving this show through your eyes.

Patrick Lyke

Thank you Shan for everything. I have truly enjoyed watching you as went along with Buffy and seeing your every reaction. Seeing you react as the series went along made me feel like I was watching this again for the first time again and was truly a special experience! And I won't be going anywhere because, HELLO, we still got S5 of Angel to get through (you have more tears coming so don't get comfortable). In addition, I want to catch up on more of your reactions on shows I never watched through (Vamp Diaries and Supernatural are on my watch lists so I'll be seeing them for the first time with you). I am tearing up when I type this and I wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for EVERYTHING!! You brought Buffy back to life for me and allowed me to see it again from a new perspective...LONG LIVE FLOPPY DISK DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Yup. I remember that feeling. Welcome to the realm of the heartbroken, Shan. If it makes you feel any better, this technically wasn't the end for Buffy (OR Angel, for that matter). This isn't a spoiler because I never read any of them, but Buffy (an eventually Angel) carried on in comics, some of which Joss Whedon himself actually wrote, from what I understand. So there's that! However, I wouldn't read them until after you watch Angel Season 5 because there probably would be some spoilers in them. Great job! Thank you for this :)

Patrick Lyke

Oh, for your summary wrap-up....got a question for you! Comparing this finale to the Season 5 finale, which of the 2 do you feel was a better "finale" since the season 5 finale with Glory was a kind of "series finale" if the show hadn't been picked up for another round? Thoughts?

Patrick Lyke

And you have to give props to Christophe Beck who composed the music for practically EVERY memorable season of Buffy. Seriously, check out the Buffy Soundtracks which include his works...goosebumps whenever I hear them!

Freddy Bowman

This may have already been mentioned, but I wanted to say I thought Buffy's response at the end (smiling) would have better fit with Faith's line rather than Dawn's. It seems like those two should have had their lines reversed, with Buffy smiling at the thought of not being the only Slayer now (a burden she carried all the way through the series).

This weekend is probably gonna be of my biggest emotional but amazing weekends when it comes to entertainment, i got to watch avengers endgame yesterday, i got to finish this season of angel and the series finale of buffy today and tomorrow i got game of thrones... i only joined u in this journey when you were in season 4 of buffy shan, but i enjoyed it so much i went back and started your reactions from the beginning of season 1 of buffy, thanks for giving us the opportunity to join u on this amazing journey

Anonymous

to keep buffy in our lives a little longer since it was your first reaction show, i was wondering if maybe you would be doing special buffy videos, like maybe things like top 10 episodes of the series, maybe top characters, a video of who buffy really should be with between angel and spike(you can say your heart pick and your gut pick lol) anyways just curious again thanks again shad, your the best and i look forward to the other shows ur still doing that i watch like angel, the arrowverse shows, GOT, AOS etc

Shawn Skelton

Where would I go? You're one of my favorite content providers!

Corey Wolf

Actually there is a season 8 you can buy on Blu Ray. It's a "motion comic" essentially taking the official season 8 comic book series and animating it somewhat. I believe the comics have a season 9 as well, both produced by Joss Whedon.

Ryan Martinez

One of the biggest heart breaks is re-watching the season in episode 4 "Help". The throw away scene where Cassie right before she dies pulls Spike aside and says, "Someday she'll tell you." At the time you have no clue what she's talking about. But she saw that Buffy would tell Spike she loved him. When I watch that episode in hindsight it always gets me. Just a small scene but with huge implications. It's a scene that most don't reference.

SHAN - WARNING . YOU CANNOT READ (or watch :) ) BUFFY SEASON 8 COMICS & FURTHER BEFORE FINISHING ANGEL S5. They did season 8-12 in comics. They ended the Dark Horse canon/Joss overseen comics with season 12 in October 2018. Now instead there is a new set of Buffy comics with Boom! Studios - also Joss involved & approved, but completely different a reboot set in the High School years now - 2019, but with the same core characters we love.

Shan, I'm sad that you don't have any more Buffy episodes left. :( Over the last year or so, I've really grown to enjoy and love reaction videos (particularly Buffyverse). I think you were the first reactor I watched, because I accidentally found your videos when you were in season 1 or 2. I'm glad you still have Angel, Dollhouse, AOS, and assorted other stuff to watch... I'm looking forward to those reaction vids. Take care.

Ron Fehr

Just for your information, the callback was regarding the second episode of season one (The Harvest). I'm glad to have gone on this journey with you Shan. Although I started watching you because of the Buffy reactions, I am sure I'll find other reasons to keep watching your channel. For example, there is still another season of Angel. And I'm sure I'll find different reactions of yours to enjoy.

Ron Fehr

Buffy tells Spike she loves him. Remember episode four of this season (Help)? Cassie Newton said to Spike "One day she'll tell you."

Timotey Kuhn

Time for my usual running commentary.....To start... I will not be going anywhere. Unless I hit some kind of financial calamity, I will continue to be a Patreon for as long as I possibly can. I only have one other friend who shares my love for all things Whedon and I can't get together with her every single time I want to watch Buffy/Angel. Having watched all of this with you, I can't go back to the old way of watching it on my own. I have to have my dear Shan there with me.

Timotey Kuhn

P.S. I hope not too many people leave after this. YOu still have so much more cool stuff to come.

Timotey Kuhn

Big freaking hugs on you right now!!! <3 <3 <3

Timotey Kuhn

No . no... Thank YOU , Shan. :)))

Timotey Kuhn

*air drums like crazy to theme song* ;)

21:37 Anya: "C'mon. Let's go assemble the cannon fodder" Xander: " That's not what we're calling them, sweetie" Anya: "Not to their faces. What am I? Insensitive?" Me: Yes... Yes you are, Anya. Insensitivity is a cornerstone of your character... LOL

Timotey Kuhn

Okay.... MASSIVE end of Buffy hugs for Shan by everyone. <3 <3 :) :D *hugs you while I bawl alongside you*

On the same Channel are also official Character Studies and other Things

Thanks for letting us watch along with you, Shan. I’ll be keeping my subscription. I don’t know if you still have the raw footage, but perhaps you could release full reactions to s1-3 episodes? I know I’d love to see these, if they exist.

Brandon Wiesner

It was an epic journey for sure! The finale is very emotional and you could see that you are feeling every single one. You already know but I'm staying put. Looking forward to Dollhouse, OUAT and others coming, not to mention continuing Arrowverse, SPN, AoS and of course finishing Angel.

I was just wondering about the original full reaction footage of those early episodes. I would definitely love to see those if Shan still has them.

Note that every time Spike came to Sunnydale, he knocked down that Welcome to Sunnydale sign. Triumphantly or drunkenly. Now the whole town collapses. Giles asks "what caused this?" "Spike" and the sign falls again. His last time knocking down that sign. Sad to see him go, but that is the way Spike would want to go out. In a blaze of glory. There has been debate about whether Buffy Loved Spike even though she said it, since he said she didn't. Note that Joss told them when doing the scene, he told Sarah that when she says that, to love him. So she does/did love him even if he didn't believe her.

Jayden

Thank you Shan! Thank you for reacting to my favourite show of all time and sharing your journey with us! You are the best reactor I have ever seen and I’m glad you enjoyed the show we all love!

UTU49

I say Buffy believed it when she said, "I love you." Whether or not it was completely true is open to debate and interpretation.

Loves Bitca

Oh and now that you've watched the entire series, go back and watch Restless again and try to pick up on some of the foreshadowing when you get a chance.

Ron Fehr

Good thing that you did the Angel reactions first, Shan. You were really emotional when this episode ended. Hopefully, in the future, when you're done another series, it won't hit you quite as hard.

Hunter McKinney

I loved having this experience with you, Shan. I'm sorry I can't keep pledging on here, but all my love on YouTube. You've been the best reactor for Buffy I have come across and your genuine love of the show and us as a community makes me so sad for it to be over, but I will continue comeback and rewatch some of the best television ever.

Nightfox

I remeber somewhen back on youtube in season one, I imagined how it would be seeing this episode once again. Thank you so much Shan, it w as a wonderful emotional rollercoaster. I watched this show in my early twenties.. now all those years later, I remebered it. And like I was a different person then, it was different. This show had so much more to offer than I realized back then.. Thank you. And I loomforward to another journey in the future with you. Best wishes from Switzerland

When the originals all go their separate ways in the school it is the reverse order of how Buffy met them. First Giles walks off, then Willow goes off her direction and finally Xander who was the first one Buffy encountered.

Loves Bitca

Shan, look up the princess rap battle with Eliza Dushku on youtube. Tom Lenk who plays Andrew is with her. Trust me you'll love it. You're welcome.

Arnold Kim

What a ride it's been. I only came across you when you were doing season 4 or 5 but obviously I watched all the previous ones and had a blast seeing your thoughts and reactions. Anyway it's the end of the series, but not the end of the Buffyverse. After all, you still have Angel season 5 (which IMO is a definite step up from Season 4) Not to mention Buffy seasons 8-11 and Angel: After the Fall in comic form.

Anonymous

I've loved Shannan's reactions to Buffy so, so much! 💜 But it's definitely not the end. Looking fwd to AtS S5 and then I'm hoping Shan can do reviews of Buffy seasons 8-12 of the canon Dark Horse comics. I've seen other youtube channels do that.

Yuliya Eydelnant

I'm so glad you finished all of Buffy. Your reactions were worth the wait. And I'm suuuuper excited for you to finish up season 5 of Angel. I KNOW you will love it <3. And I am so on board of you doing reviews of Buffy season 8-12 of dark horse comics because I think you'd really enjoy them as much as we loved them :).

Ross Nolan

Wow, what a reaction. I only became a Patreon member a couple of days ago but I've been following your Buffyverse reactions since Season 3 and it has just been an absolute privilege to see you react to what was my favourite show when it first came out and is still my favourite show. Just amazing, amazing work and thank you!

Shierra C Styver

I love that you were able to connect certain lines that were used back in season one like Giles saying "The earth is doomed." hehe And your reaction to Spike slowing but surely turning to dust 😭 yeah I'm with you there. And I still can't get over that scene but it had to be done. He definitely helped save the world. Another one who helped save but didn't make it was Anya who got bisected... and I still cant get over that. I dunno why. I guess I'm just glad that all the other main characters made it even if Spike and Anya didn't. It was a great finale although I remember watching it for the first time (it was on TV so there was no pausing, just waiting for the damn commercials to be over though, so I wasn't prepared for the dramatic moments at times lol) thinking, is... this really the finale??????? I mean, I was still kind of HOPING there would be another season. I felt this way about season 5 'The Gift' HOPING that Buffy would come back for another season. Anyway, well you still have one more season to go in Angel so it'll still be another exciting ride though!

Amarantax

Spike died "effulgent"

Ron Fehr

Although I love watching Buffy, I don't believe fighting is the way to solve problems in the real world. Anyway, I don't think Buffy actually defeated the First. She just thwarted it's plan to end the Slayer line. The First is the thing that created evil, as Giles said, and evil continues to exist.

Melissa Murphy

No matter how many times I watch this episode I still cry. Spike came to Sunnydale knocking down the Welcome to Sunnydale sign and went out doing the same thing.

UTU49
>>22414504

My heart is heavy, It's grown a bulge-in-it, 'Pon seeing that Spike, Has died effulgent.

Jenn Rose

I've been stalling watching these last few reactions because I didn't want it to end; I'm sure as much as you did. I wasn't here from the very beginning but I've been here since really early on and damn has it been one incredible journey to see you experience. This show changed my life as well as countless others, and I think you've been added to that list. Hey, how about you do rewatch reactions?....lol I'm just pulling at strings here cause I don't want it to be really over. Thank you for letting us experience this with you! Buffy is the best <3

Loves Bitca

By the way, that scene where Buffy goes down to the basement where Spike is, Joss said he left that open for the viewers to decide themselves what happened. Whatever you want to have happened, happened. If you want them to have made love, they made love. If you want them to have talked all night, they talked. If you want them to have played checkers they played checkers. Personally I always went with the made love answer. Mainly because, I feel that William the Bloody Awful Poet, was a virgin, and he first had sex as Spike with Dru, and if he and Buffy made love that night, that would be the only time he made love with a soul, and with the woman he loves. All the sex they had before, is not the same as it would be as William with a soul.

KiwiJello

I just re-watched your reaction... and I cried AGAIN, but that isn't why I post. I just heard/read a rumor that the "continuation of the buffyverse" is aiming to be on a streaming platform in 2020. If that's true, it isn't far away!

Alex Wright

From the last few minutes: Xander predicted the future, Toys R Us is gone now (at least in Britain).

Alex Wright

Didn't Sunnydale used to have a harbour? ;)
