Jimmy isnt in the vessel anymore, hes in Heaven. That body belongs to Cas. He can give permission for it to be possessed.

Jermaine Long

jimmy is not in the body remember cas told his daughter he was in haven

Something similiar happened a few seasons ago. Sam had both Crowley and Gadrial inside him at the same time. So its not unprecedented.

Sure, and being an Ark Angel Lucifer is much stronger than he is, thus dominant. The body is Cas's now basically, Jimmy is in heaven.

Brent Justice

Angels can look like anything they want really, he can make Sam see him that way

Also Billie was reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman (which Kripke said was a big influence along with Good Omens)

I knew that you would like this ep and the one before it, because they are very main season plot driven. I have a feeling, before I click on the next ep, because it's a bit filler, you will probably say "it was alright..." LOL. I still like the SPN eps for the most part, filler or not but to each their own.

Joe Smijohn Jr

Well to answer your question Lucifer was able to possess Cas because as of last season we know that Jimmy is in heaven so technically Castiel is officially the host body. Now if Jimmy hadn't been killed and Cas was still using him as a vessel then Lucifer would have needed Jimmy to say yes. I hope in explaining that correctly.

David Lu

He did move to LA and solve crimes lol
