"Was she just possessed?" In a way, I suppose that true. The hexenbiest is like a dark spirit that gives her power. I assume she was born with it though, rather than it being a typical possession.

A hexenbiest is a wesen witch that has tremendous powers & bc Nick is a Grimm his blood had to be used to kill the hexenbiest part of Adalind to cure Hank. The biting was done bc his blood had to become a part of her. And she was born a hexenbiest so it wasn’t like a possession.
