I actually really like this show, i believe it took me like half a season to really get into it though but ever since ive loved it.

They market this as a Star Trek parody, otherwise they'd be sued into oblivion. But it's a really good show in its own right.

Yes Seth is a huge Trek fan. he actually pitched this as a Star trek show to CBS Corporation & they said no. he took the idea, removed the Trek IP, tweaked a few of the characters & added some "Family Guy style" humor as he felt that was the only way he could get the show picked up since that's what he's known for As a Star Trek fan I myself would've probably scoffed at the idea of Seth MacFarlane doing Star Trek but after watching this show I now wish they'd have given him a chance

I have seen some Star Trek but I was always more of a Star Wars fan. I didn't know what to think about this show at the time, so I haven't seen it up until now. It's not bad for a show that so obviously wanted to be part of the Star Trek canon. I think that Bobbi signing onto this show is why she was written off of AOS. In any case, it was better than I expected it to be. I'll watch if you react to more eps but probably won't check it out on my own.

Actually, when Bobbi and Hunter were written off of SHIELD, they were supposed to get their own spin-off. The network decided not to go through with the spin-off. But, when Hunter came back for that one episode in Season 5, Bobbi wasn't in that episode because she was doing this show.

When the Orville first started playing I was like "YES! Finally some new Star Trek... we haven't had any Star Trek since Star Trek Enterprise ended in 2005" I'm still a little sad it's the only Star Trek currently running!
