Very much American corporate humor. I'd expect it wouldn't land for you on either level. You should probably avoid The Middleman, another great one season show in the same vein.

I read a story that the original pilot for the show was set at an insurance company for collateral damage in super power fights & every episode would deal with a different claim from a different fight. The NBC network that was going to air the show was interested but not fully invested so they got ordered to tweak the show & create a new pilot which is what you watched here. I do wonder what the the original pilot was like & which was the better choice

Andrew Polinski

I actually really liked this show and was very sad when it got cancelled after 1 season. I never watched HSM so I never rated Vanessa Hudgens as an actress I would like but I think she was amazing in this show.

For me it gets better as it goes along but then it got cancelled after nice episodes I think however I remember seeing an unaired episode. So I will leave it there.

Mark Chrisco

I really wanted this to be good when it premiered on NBC, but your reaction to the first episode was pretty much the same as mine. I was going to apologize for falling asleep during the second episode when I remembered doing the same thing watching this episode live.
