Finally catching up on all the reactions I've missed and omg I forgot how much I hate this episode. There were some good interactions between our team and admittedly Flynn and Jacob under the potion's influence was amusing to watch but apart from that I hate it. This..... girl (I'm being nice here) mind rape dozens (more like a couple hundreds) of people. There's no other word for it, her only redeeming quality is that she didn't take it physical (as far as we know) but that's like the bare minimum. This episode does what dozens of shows and movies did before it, someone mind rape someone and there's NO CONSEQUENCES. She's even excused and rewarded through Ezekiel. He tells her that "magic corrupts" and that it's "not her fault". EXCUSE ME ?? First, you need to use magic for it to corrupt you, so maybe it did and made her want more and more (HUGE maybe) but she still decided of her OWN FREE WILL to use the freaking potion, knowing full well that she was taking away their ability to consent. And she's not a child, you cannot convince me that she didn't know what was asking for. It's only when she had to pay (just a bit) the consequences when they started to attack her that she changed her mind. Second, saying that it's not her fault takes away any agency that she had in the situation and again, she chose that of her own free will. Also Ezekiel not being completely disgusting or whatever with her ?? The same guy who called out and was disgusting by the body snatching people in season 1 ? Fuck that. The reason why he was immune was absolute bs. The guy spend the entire episode trying to remember where he saw her from despite her not looking any different was in love with her enough that the potion didn't work on him ?? Fuck that. Also, the idea that you can fall in love with someone that much without even having had a word with them is absolute bull. I think they just wanted him to have an immunity and weren't sure how to that ? But it's really freaking stupid considering Ezekiel has shown himself to be immune and magic resistant several time across the 3 seasons. They didn't have to give us any explanation like that. Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction, I think you were thinking of Aromanticism, which is a lack of romantic attraction. It doesn't quite work though cause Jenkins did say love potions didn't exist and that it was more like obsession which aromantic people can feel (just not about people I think). Still, you're explanation was leagues better than the show.
