Hibernation season is finally upon him, and Kenai has embraced instinct to be the biggest bear his new tribe's ever seen. Enjoy!
*************
For a long while, Kenai had wondered how long it would take for him to be comfortable with being a bear— if he ever wanted to turn back, if he could live up to what a bear was supposed to be like. But now, all that seemed to melt away. The special celebration the rest of the Bear Tribe threw for him, honoring him for all he had done to feed them and help prepare for the winter, was as wild a celebration as he could imagine— huge, burly bears feasted and gorged on the good food they had prepared, performed feats of strength and contests, and Kenai was treated as good as royalty. They lavished praise and food on him, making sure the honored hunter didn't go a second without something delicious to chew on. The revelries lasted all through the night and into the day, as, one by one, the bears began to drift off to their caves. Tug was one of the last, giving Kenai a firm hug, the two giant, mountainous bears mashing guts and thick limbs together as best they could.
"Heh, welcome to the family, brother!" He said in a deep burl, yawning wide before trundling off.
With a lazy smile on his face, Kenai began to waddle to his own cave— the truly humungous bear would have gone on all fours, if he could— but his mammoth-sized gut, already dragging heavily on the ground, simply wouldn't allow it. His enormously thick, flabby legs had to roll off one another in trembling steps, each one jostling and jiggling his enormous gut as it spilled out ahead of him like a great, slowly moving landslide. At last he came to his cave, eyelids heavy, his mind hazy for want of sleep as he tried to squeeze in, thick reams and blubbery sides squishing against the cave walls. He grunted, his blubbery rump so wide it nearly anchored him in the cave entrance, until he used the last of his strength to squeeze in. He flopped heavily on the bed of leaves he had prepared for his winter den, Kenai sinking into absolute luxury of his own fat folds. His belly spilled out like tree sap before it finally settled, his arms sinking against his flabby sides, his face almost submerged between his billowing cheeks and rings of multiple chins. His thoughts drifted off as at last hibernation took him, thinking that when spring came, he might be able to do wonderful things with the honey that he would be able to harvest…
