Hi Hi Hi! If you don't want any spoilers until you watch don't read the comments below!

Congrats to the Winner!!

What a fun movie! I feel like I def have some classics that need to be watched for me to fully appreciate this movie. But, holy crap the camera work, set design, sound, editing, colour palette... everything was electric. Im not a huge fan of the one lead (don’t wanna say names for spoilers) but I can see how a lot of ppl can’t take their eyes off her! The 2 leads in this were amazing! They did a great job and hair and makeup was on point! I feel like the story had a good arc worth watching til the end and I love playing detective!

Can't wait to chat with you all down below!

Thanks for being here supporting me on Patreon! It means a lot to me and I love spinning this magical Wheel!

CONGRATS SEAN!! See? Our prayers worked! Great choice!! Looks like Ames now on a Edgar Wright tear. Let's hope this film changes her mind about Ana Taylor Joy 😂 The production designer did SUCH a great job recreating swinging 60's London. This movie also features Thomasin Mackensie who I've really enjoyed watching in THE KING and LEAVE NO TRACE.. A bright future ahead of BOTH leads...

Congratulations Shawn!! You are THE MAN!!! 🛡️ I'm so happy you got the win!! You are a ROCK in this community, my friend!! This will be a first time watch for me this evening! I can't wait!! There's something MAGICAL about the WHEEL, for sure!! Okay... back to work for me!!

Congratulations Shawn! The character Anya Taylor-Joy played in "The Witch" was based on a real person in Massachusetts (but not the Story), over 20 yrs. BEFORE the Salem Witch Trials. By the time of Salem, she was about 40, married with 8 children....I wonder what she thought about Salem. (Elisabeth Knapp....no one was hanged and she was "cured", though she thought she had signed "the Book.")

No Spoiler of the Film, "The Witch." It goes differently from History.

You all are so great! Thank you! I can't wait to get home now, so I can dive into this again. I had shared with Ames that I heard her say she didn't care for Anya Taylor-Joy a couple of lives back, and said to myself, "Well, shit. I already added that one. At least she's supporting cast here."

Congrats Shawn.

Sorry Ames, but Anya Taylor-Joy is always mesmerizing to me. I think it's her eyes. Plus, her acting is always top-drawer.

Music has always been an important part of my life, so much so that I don't mind saying that I probably wouldn't have made it this far, if it hadn't found me. It will always be the first thing to which I respond. I could rattle off a list of my top 50 films, and each one of them would have some sort of music at the forefront. With this one, I got the visuals to go along with the sound, for once, the fire, the flashing neon, the shattering glass.... We first meet Sandy through the mirror (see how I stopped myself from saying looking glass, like a tool?). That barrier stays in place until Ellie begins searching for more, for the truth. For almost the entire second half, if we see glass, it's going to shatter, until she and Alex are face-to-face. It' so evident that when there is no glass barrier to break through with a new piece of information, Ellie shatters the pint glass herself. Ames- I was intentional with wanting to give you something in your wheelhouse for my first pick. In addition to the sound, colo(u)r, costumes, and editing style, who doesn't love throwing in a few thriller elements? I couldn't help but grin, watching how nervous you were through the first 30 minutes (it's not that kind of horror picture). Then, keeping in-fashion, you call the end reveal after the first half hour. You did that shit to me with Field of Dreams too. Who guesses the end after the very first voice in the cornfield? I had to pick my jaw off the floor, but I guess we all know what we like, and like what we've bothered to learn. I know this one hasn't been analyzed to death, being so new, so not as much trivia to throw around, but I'm looking forward to reading everyone's thoughts. Have a peaceful evening.

Almost forgot, Alex is played by Diana Rigg, who was a Bond girl (I first met her in The Great Muppet Caper), bc I am a grown child. Too bad she wasn't from Thunderball. That would have been perfect.

Hi Ames, I've switched my movie to SLEEPERS (1996) Thanks 👍

Good pick Shawn!! I really enjoyed it! Very stylish! I thought the music was great! I also loved the lighting throughout and the choreography of the mirror shots in particular were amazing!! I thought Thomasin McKenzie was quite convincing in her role as the unsophisticated "that was probably her first drink" Eloise. Hahaha! As soon as I saw Diana Rigg, I knew something was up with her! 😆 And it was good to see Terence Stamp again. I haven't seen him since The Adjustment Bureau. Ames, it was especially fun to see you so at home in this genre, using your savant-like sleuthing capabilities to predict what's coming well in advance!! It was really nice to enjoy another first time watch with you! I found the end credits to be quite clever. What appear to be brief photos of Soho intermixed among the credits are actually still video shots (devoid of people). You can occasionally see the lights on the marquees or signs are moving. My theory is that Wright wanted the video shots to illustrate the locations for the shoot were also characters in the film (and deserving of end credits) as much as the people were.
