WELCOME to MAGIC WEEK (plus a lil sci fi)!! The theme for my bday week was to bring the magic and feel like a kid!!! OMGOSH! Has it ever worked!!

I am a little under the weather and was unable to get 1 more movie to you guys this week so I'll add it to next week!

I think "Unforgiven" YT edit will be up this week sometime. I was just away so just wasn't able to complete it yet.

Monday - "Labyrinth" (1986) Watch Along! Finally ticked this one off my List! It was very crotch-tastic but out of respect for Mr. David Bowie I refrained from jokes. I also apologize for tech difficulties! OBS was a lil 🤬 and effected all sound but I tried my best to help fix it. Video for sure has some lag! SORRY!

Tuesday - Poll for next theme!!!

Wednesday - "Big" (1988) Watch along had one of my fave magical moments in movie history!!!

Thursday -  "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" Watch Along. Spoiler. I loved it. Don't know if I am in the minority. Can't wait to chat to the Trekkers/Trekkies about it!

Friday - Hoping to have "Unforgiven" YT edit out.

Saturday - "The Room" (2003) Live Watch Along. You will need to have your own copy to sync up with! I am not sure about time on Saturday but I will poll it! Looking to do between 12-2 PST Start time! Not sure about my beverage yet because I have a fever and not sure what I will have but I will post options! All Tiers are invited!

Sunday - The most MAGICAL BDAY Experience!!! E.T (1982) Watch Along. Also on the AFI list! I have been wanting to watch this my whole life!!!!

Thanks everyone for being here and supporting my channel! It means a lot to me! It's been a heavy week with a family funeral and I'm so thankful to have your support and patience as I get things out to you!

ST:TMP, at least the director's cut, is really damn good. I was quite surprised because I remember hating the theatrical cut way back when.

Looks like a great lineup, Ames!! I'm looking forward to seeing LABYRINTH with you for the first time! BIG is so much fun with a young Tom Hanks! I can't wait to see your reaction to ST:TMP and talk with you about it! Sunday sounds like a magical BDAY! I hope you get feeling better soon!

BIG week (haha)! ET is awesome, of course. The fact that you loved ST:TMP is a big bonus -- even a lot of fans are lukewarm on it (I've come to appreciate it more). Without giving spoilers, I'll just say that Star Trek II is a soft reboot of the movie franchise which goes in a direction that most fans prefer. So looking forward to more Trek! Get well soon! It's been a tough time for you, but hopefully your b-day (and some Canucks wins😉) can cheer you up.

Big week is right JM! Great line-up of the of the best and worst this week so it will be interesting. I won't lie. Looking forward to E.T. the most. Of course it won't have the cultural impact on Ames today as much as if she had seen in like we did in 1982 but if nothing else it has what I consider John Williams best Spielberg score. Also looking forward to the first STAR TREK movie which is still my favorite among them. 4 big films and 1 big bomb makes for a great week of reactions...

I am in the minority in that I think ST: The Motion Picture (director's edition) is one of the best of the original ST movies -- has a majestic sense about it with good dialogue, music, visuals, and story. I always liked Big (1988). Directed by Penny Marshall of Laverne & Shirley fame. Good week.

Bigger franchises sometimes feel the need to impress the common opinion about the material on newbies, instead of letting them explore it with an open mind. You should like that, you shouldn't like that. Star Wars comes to mind as a prime example. Star Trek is not immune to that. Not saying it about people here mind you. ST:TMP wasn't quite what people expected back then. Too much 2001 influence perhaps, shoehorned characters from ST2, etc. Sure, it wasn't going to sweep the Oscars or anything, but it wasn't bad per se, most fans just couldn't look beyond their expectations back then, which is fair enough. Just why keep sticking to that limited view after so many years. Luckily many have come to appreciate movies like this one with the bias. Still you will see some strong opinions on the quality on these kind of movies. Take it with a grain of salt and go in open minded.

I was also suppose to do open range this week RFK I just lost time to do all the big ones LOL

The big problem back when ST:TMP was released was that the premiere date was locked and couldn't be changed but due to huge delays with visual effects, including scrapping who they originally hired and who weren't delivering and hiring new people, the movie ran out of time. The rough first edit they did stood. I love this movie as well.

Here's how much I love this Patreon: if I miss a reaction, I feel BAD about it! 🤣 it's a busy week for me, but I will definitely try not to fall too far behind! As it is, I still want to see the Society Of The Snow reaction! I'm falling behind! I'm so happy you had lighter stuff for this week, and I so hope that THIS week is an easy one for you. We shout from the rooftops: let no harm come to this woman!!! 😄
