Hi everyone! We got a real mixed bag of spice this week! This week is Lottery Spins from the previous few polls to shake it up a little! Always fun doing a raffle! I don't think I explain it that well but I am sure you get the gist! The spin video has already been posted if you wanna see them. After watching TKK I spun for the other 2 polls for the rest for the week. Due to my schedule and to be able to let you guys know whats upcoming! My computer crashed during the movie screen record so I couldn't show the spin for TKK! sorry!

Monday - "The Karate Kid" (1984) Watch Along on the BB Tier. Finally getting my paws on this movie! I only knew of "wax on wax off" but not really what it meant. Anywho, I loved it! Such a time capsule of the mid 80's and a really great story of an underdog. I LOVED Mr. Miyagi! How can you not. One of my fave new characters.

Tuesday - Movie Genre Poll so if you have any suggestions add them to the comments below!

Wednesday - "Shutter Island" (2010) Watch Along on the BB Tier. I'm very excited to get my brain twisted in another "Psych-Triller"!

Thursday - For all my beautiful Goombas "The Fugitive" YT edit out early for ya!

Friday - "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968) Watch Along on the BB Tier. I feel like this one is going to 🤯. Another Stanley Kubrick to check out and another check off the AFI List sitting at #15 so you know your in store for something good! I believe my brother is a fan of this movie and he usually knows a good film!

There will be a noms post and another poll later this week so you'll see those pop up!

It's been a hectic lil weekend! Not sure if I can squeeze in a live later today/tonight! But I will try!!

Looking forward to Shutter Island, and 2001. The Karate Kid is... fine, I'm glad you liked it. However, I have a question not relevant to this topic: I was on Youtube other other day and the almighty Algorithm showed me that you had a YT edit of the movie "Midsommar". I went to this site to search for the full length reaction which seems to be MIA. Do you still happen to have that reaction locally, and if so, could you re-upload it? I guessing the answer is no, or it would already be on here, but just wanted to ask. Thanks.

Caught FURIOSA over the weekend… very entertaining but not as good as Fury Road…pass it on!

2001: A Space Odyssey is Kubrick's best. He changed the Sci-Fi genre forever. Be prepared for something unlike you ever seen. The ambiguities are dazzling. It compells you to think about and interpret the questions, "What did I just see?" "What does it mean?"

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

The Karate Kid...a movie I've never seen all the way through although I should have. It was a trivia question on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" in which I was the contestant. I had to use up my final lifeline to get the answer right.

2001? I'm rolling the biggest joint for the occasion right now (and maybe you should too!). 🤣 (Have been meaning to rewatch Shutter Island which I only saw once; and haven't seen Karate Kid since I WAS a karate kid! 😄 Fun week!

Movie genre? I usually don't pick horror, but I wouldn't mind a horror poll because a classic might win! And if my own favorite didn't win, someone else would definitely be happy, since it's a popular genre. My nominations would look something like: - Rosemary's Baby - The Exorcist - Carrie - The Shining - Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978 version) - Poltergeist - Creepshow Great acting, scripts, cinematography and sound design in all!

AJ

Not exactly a genre but how about female lead/main character.

RX-1

In terms of sci-fi/horror, I think you'd like the Spielberg War of the Worlds. That's always been a favorite of mine, it's real intense and has a powerful message about what you'll do to protect your loved ones.

Dang good week

As far as a poll for movie genres, I'd go for horror, but maybe I had an idea, like a poll for different sections or subgenres of horror though? Like, for example: -Universal Monster movies -Hammer horror gothic classics -Godzilla movies -Harryhausen movies -Alien invader movies -80's horror Stuff like that instead of just one single horror poll?

Jeffrey Schmidbauer

How about a poll highlighting a director like Hitchcock or John Ford or Scorcese or David Lynch or even more Kubrick?

Paddy Thompson

As far as Polls go I think Black Comedy or Quirky Dark Comedies would be very enjoyable! Heaps of em out there and have that emotional whiplash element too them. Films by Wes Anderson, Martin Mcdonagh, Coen Brothers, Yorgos Lathimos etc.
