Ok, a little bit of math for everyone.... The version Ames put in the first link seems to be slightly slowed down compared to the second link (39:06 vs. 32:33). If you want to sync Ames' commentary with the second link, you need to speed up Ames' commentary to 1.2x speed. (You can do this by clicking the "settings" gear, then "custom", and finally speed up Ames' vid to 1.2x) This should more or less get the 2 runtimes in sync. Edit: Whoops, I made a big math mistake! Forget what I wrote above. I'm not sure why the two runtimes are so different (they don't appear to be wildly different in speed; maybe some added runtime in the first link?) My suggestion: watch the 2nd link with the score and sharper video first, then watch the first link for Ames' reaction (it's a pretty short film).

If anybody is interested, there's a documentary that came out in 1984 called "Unknown Chaplin". You get to see previously unreleased footage of his movies like unused "takes" and bloopers. You also get to see Chaplin at work behind the camera.

Favorite part of the movie during this rewatch: when she's winking at him! "I'm flirting"! 🤣

James Rogers

Such a nice change of pace. I actually prefer the silence of silent movies. Some other comedy legends from that era worth exploring are Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton.

You should watch the remastered versions, I don't think you can get it on YouTube
