Horror or fantasy movies would be great right now.

Jeremy V.

This poll needs Cult Classic’s.

RFK Fan

COMING OF AGE baby! So many great great titles there to nominate and who doesn't love a good coming-of-age story??

Noell G

I’m just wishing and hoping for horror😭

Henry Graham

After appreciating Raging Bull, I would like to recommend another of my favourite boxing films, John Huston's melancholy masterpiece Fat City (1972). Huston was a boxer in his younger days and his film has such an authentic feel for this environment and these people, the has-beens and the never-will-bes.

justice barnes

I know you just watched a war movie but how bout "All Quite on the Western Front" 2023

MotoDork

Historical drama? (Lawrence of Arabia stands out in my mind)

Jason Vulgamore

How about a comedic western? Like *Support Your Local Sheriff (1969) *The Villain (1979)

Andrew Corbyn

A Fish Called Wanda for a dark comedy! Possession (1981) for a horror film

william johnson

"The Last Supper".....Horror AND a Dark Comedy

James Rogers

What about a nice Jerry Lewis film? He's French adjacent and animated. What I wouldn't give to get my hands on a copy of The Day the Clown Cried.

John Courtright

While I find Outsiders intriguing, I am holding out for that little-known French film "Star Trek Quatre: Le Voyage de Retour" 😂

Brent Turner

You should watch Fat Man and Little Boy (1989)

AJ

I sense some more Coen brothers in our future.

Will Zamora

The Big Blue (1988) Dir. Luc Besson

RX-1

I think either the 2005 War of the Worlds or the Peter Jackson King Kong would be great.

Raieldon

It occurs to me that both The 400 Blows (1959) and Blue Is The Warmest Color (2013) land French, foreign, coming-of-age and social outsiders at the same time.

Chris Gladwill

Monster Squad. You would absolutely love it!

chris brown

Evil Dead (1981) and/or Evil Dead 2 (1987)

A dark comedies poll is a good idea. Candidate: *Freeway (1996). Reese Witherspoon at age 19 did crazy good acting in her lead role w/Kiefer Sutherland. When I watched "Freeway" (1996) on VHS not long after release, I had no idea who she was and was blown away. Others to consider: -Fargo (1996) (Coen Brothers) -Groundhog Day (1993) -Inglourious Basterds (2009) (Tarantino) -Little Miss Sunshine (2006) -Election (1999) (a young Reese Witherspoon) -Beetlejuice (1988) [Tim Burton] (Michael Keaton) -Risky Business (1983) (a young Tom Cruise) -American Psycho (2000) (Christian Bale) -This Is the End (2013) (funny) -Thank You for Smoking (2005) (I always liked this movie) -Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) (on my list to watch)

Samuraibry1

Desert Island Top 5 Dark Comedies: 'Dr. Strangelove', 'Little Miss Sunshine', 'Grizzly Man' (the documentary), 'Seven Psychopaths', & 'Withnail & I' (might include 'Chopper' w/ Eric Bana as a crime/dark comedy to rep. the Aussies also!

william johnson

If you DO go Rogue with Animation, what better way to go than SOUTHPARK; Whacko, Insane Dark Humour AND Comedy, which leaves NO ONE Safe.

Toc

Dark Comedy seems to be winning......and the first two that come to mind are actually Scorsese's next two movies after Raging Bull: The King Of Comedy......and After Hours! Two of his best, two of the best of the 80s.......and definitely both dark comedies!

william johnson

And WHEN are you going to see the classic sci-fi thriller "The Andromeda Strain." ?? (1971)

william johnson

And Belated Congratulations for your 100K. Next goal,,,,1M???

AJ

The noms and poll for this are gonna be epic.
