Nothing like an Ebenezer Scrooge story to warm my heart LOL!

This one was a lot of fun! I still think I prefer Groundhog Day! But can’t wait to rewatch this and pick up more of the jokes! I love how all Frank’s references where from TV and Movies!

I love these darker Christmas movies! Really warms my Grinch heart!

Scrooged (1988)

I know it’s just me but this movie never really landed when I watched it. It felt rushed and disjointed and the only thing that I took away from it was that Carol Kane and Karen Allen should have had bigger careers, they were great. I love Bill Murray, but not in this. But hey, to each their own. I’m gonna go rewatch Anna and the Apocalypse to get into the Christmas Spirit. At least those zombies sing.

I wish that that fake trailer at the beginning was real! I'd watch that Christmas special!

Scrooged is such a great movie. I remember being somewhat scared of certain scenes when I watched it as a kid. There are so many lovable characters, like the homeless man who freezes and the man who was fired. Bill Murray adds so much to every scene. It really makes me want to watch What About Bob. What About Bob also features a great performance by Bill Murray.

Fun Facts: Four of Bill Murray's brothers are in this movie, playing his brother, his brother's friend and his father. The ghost of Christmas past is David Johansen, former front man for the glam rock band, The New York Dolls. Pat McCormick plays both Santa (in The Night the Reindeer Died) and the Ghost of Christmas Present (in their TV special Srooge). The production was unusually difficult, since Bill Murray and the director, Richard Donner fought constantly. Murray thought the film could have been much better. The priest at the cremation was Richard O'Donoghue, co-writer and former SNL contributor. The sidewalk jazz combo playing "We Three Kings" consisted of Paul Shaffer (former SNL and Letterman band leader), Larry Carlton, Miles Davis and David Sanborn, all among the greatest jazz musicians of our time. Oh, and in the theater many people did sing! Bill Murray has also commented on who hurt him worse: Carol Kane, in this, or Andie McDowell in Groundhog Day.

How do we not be ticklish, Ames? Karen Allen is so beautiful. While seeing this for the first time since I was a kid, I'm realizing Claire (and Marion in Raiders) was probably a primary imprint on me as an example of loveliness - face, voice, and personality.
