There is a bit of a switch-up this week due to the availability of Modern Times from the AFI list! But I'm so excited for these poll winners! Congrats to the Patrons who nominated these films!

Wednesday - Glory (1989) To be honest, I had never heard of this film before so I am going in blind! I love this ensemble so I am anticipating great acting!!

AFI Friday - The Graduate (1967) This one is a long time coming and I know very little about it other than maybe risque!!

Thanks to everyone here for all your support! Always.

Ooooh.. Glory and the Graduate?? Stunning.. Now if only Monsoon Wedding hit's on the WOW spin I've hit the Trifecta!

Both classics, but Glory is my favorite of the two

So happy you’re watching Glory, my favourite movie of all time!

Marc Fredrick

"Glory" is based on a true story and is very historically accurate. Can't wait to watch it again with everyone.

Glory, great choice, you should also consider Andersonville, about the prison camps during the civil war

I've never seen Glory, so I guess we'll watch it together for the first time together! But I love Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. They are both SO talented! I wanted to add a little clip from a former late night show staring Craig Ferguson and his sidekick, a dead, gay, robot named Geoff Peterson. He does a great Morgan Freeman impression. I think you'll get a kick from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUvhQgF6bV8&t=1s

Two solid movies to say the least. (That's literally saying the least!) (Don't want to overhype anything!). But I suppose I can say......damn good week!

I don't know if I've seen all of The Graduate, but looking forward to it. Canadians may not know, but today is MLK Day in US. MLK Day, in remembrance: "We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now because I've been to the mountaintop... I've looked over and I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land." --Martin Luther King, Jr. in speech to an overflowing crowd in Memphis, Tennessee on April 3, 1968, less than 24 hours before he was assassinated.
