WELL!

This is perhaps looking like one of the best weeks ever on Patreon. Get ready people! I don't even think I can contain my excitement!

Thursday- A Fistful of Dollars (1964) won on one of the last polls! Excited to get to this one! More Western!

I did a lottery spin for the top 5-8 Runner-ups on all the free-for-all polls so we are getting an AFI weekend!

AFI Friday- In The Heat of the Night (1967) I have no idea what this is about. I only know that I believe it will be my first Sidney Poitier film

Saturday- The long-awaited The Philadelphia Story (1940) I cannot wait for this trifecta of amazingness!!!!!!!🤤🤤🤤

thanks soo much for being here!!!

I never watched the In the Heat of the Night movie, but there was a TV show version in the 80s which I loved, starring Carroll O'Connor (aka Archie Bunker)

WOW, dream week! LFG!!! My birds are headed to the SB and Ames is finally hitting The Philadelphia Story--I can only consider this a good omen! Fly Eagles Fly!

Ames, In the Heat of the Night (1967) is one of my favorite movies of all time. I just checked my favorite movies list and have it ranked at No. 8. The Philadelphia Story (1940) is on my watchlist. I am big fan of Clint Eastwood westerns, but never got into the Spaghetti westerns -- yet, looking forward to your reaction to A Fistful of Dollars (1964).

Whoah!!! What a week! I'll be there for all three, no question about it! Ames not fooling around this week; three movies trying to out-classic each other! 🤩

Perry Campbell

Wow some major classics. Seen them probably over 20 times each 😊😊😊😊

Kim

In the Heat of the Night is very special.

Wow, Wow, WOW! What a week! I've been dying for someone to watch The Philadelphia Story. Glad you've seen both Cary Grant and James Stewart before, you'll love seeing them together, and Jimmy in his Oscar winning role. As for the other two, would you believe, that I saw both of those, multiple times, on the big screen, in the 1960's! Well it is true, I'm old, but I was just a child and in the position of going to see many many 1960's movies in the theaters because we were overseas and going to the army base theater many times a week made sense for our family because there was no English speaking TV in the country we lived in! As a matter of fact I highly recommend all three of Sidney Poitier's moves that were released in 1967: In the Heat of the Night, To Sir, With Love and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. I don't think any actor ever has had such a successful year as Sidney Poitier in 1967, with such high quality and socially significant films. And yes I saw all three on the big screen and knew at the time, even though I was 9 or 10 years old, that I was seeing some very special films.

A love triangle in Philadelphia? What's that, Rocky and Apollo competing for the heart of Adrian? :-P Seriously, that's an impressive lineup.

Teemu Laitinen

Great movies again this week. Now you'll get to compare A Fistful of Dollars with Yojimbo. A lot of great Clint movies out there for you to check out Ames.

A Fistful of Dollars is available on MGM+ in the States for anyone who has that. I have it as a Prime Add-on.

Looking forward to The Philadelphia Story!! Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart - What's not to love??? ❤❤❤

Dan

Missed Philadelphia Story! Damn me to hell! (Too dramatic?) Anything with Katherine Hepburn is infinitely worth watching. Such as a A Lion in Winter. Have you considered A Beautiful Mind or Ondine? Both are great movies!
