After watching this movie I realize why I relate to Rocky so much. All my life I always had coaches and teachers that told me I was dumb and I was never gunna make it. F*** all those who tell you no and keep knocking you down. If you work hard, believe in yourself and are a good person, you can do anything.

I love this story of self-determination and self-belief. Inspirational stuff.

One of my fave movies ever. Sometimes the simplest of human stories hits the hardest punch.

Thanks, Rocky.

Greatest Poem of All Time! "Well, I just wrote this thing for you Adrian. I don't know. Maybe you'll like it. I'll just read it to you, cause... Remember when we was on ice skates and I thought you were supposed to be great, but I kept giving you lip and you kept trying to slip so I could catch you? And that was our first date. And after that everyday was great. So now I want cha to know that where ever you go, Atlantic City or in the snow... Don't worry about a thing cause as long as I got this ring I'll always be there to catch ya."

So happy you like it. My favorite is 3

U would love '8 Seconds' then. Same director John G Avildson. True life story of my childhood hero. 🥃👍

Looking forward to this one! And happy I didn't go to your school... Damn.

In the first movie that mean guy tells Rocky to take Adrian to the zoo as an insult to both of them. Ironically Rocky proposes to Adrian at the zoo. The Philly zoo is also the oldest zoo in America. Now they have cool catwalks where tigers can literally walk above you across their enclosure, that's a newish addition to the zoo. The movie shows Rocky running through his money quickly but the house he buys is a relatively modest rowhouse in a middle class neighborhood. It's only two floors tall. It's (2313 S. Lambert Street in Philadephia if anyone's curious to google) I think the house purchase was pretty responsible. He does buy it without asking too many questions but I think it was a good idea. Go Birds!

The guy who was singing at the trash can fire after their wedding is Sylvester’s brother Frank Stallone. He had a golden globe nominated hit song from the movie Staying Alive “Far From Over”’ and did songs in other Sylvester Stallone movies.

Rocky II is magic...again. It's a perfect continuation of the story...get married, spend the money, loses his identity, almost loses Adrian, fights for her again. ALL HEART. LOVE IT. Favorite scenes and lines from the movie on Discord. **Best Ames Lines** Fucking belief is keeping him up. I think they're the cutest couple in cinematic history. Two tissues down. (16 minutes in) Consummate that marriage Rocky. Working out in the dungeon. That's a fucking team right there. He better run up the stairs in this one or I'm gonna be pissed. These fucking Rocky movies really turn me into a puddle. I don't even know what number tissue I'm on. Que montage. Sorry. Sorry. I'm a bit amped up right now. God he's taking so many punches right to the face. He's unlocked beast mode. Mickey's like oh fuck. Protect your face Rocky! They're gonna die. They're actually gonna die in this one. Oh my god I love this movie. Rocky really knocked me out and fucked me up man.

Just got finished with this. Your Rocky reactions are quickly becoming my favorite of all your reactions. And I TOTALLY swell with happiness at how much you also like Apollo. The greatest and smartest thing this series EVER did was to not make him a typical antagonist. As you already know from the fact that there are Creed movies, his story is not done yet by far. Rocky 3 cannot come quick enough. Thanks Ames, now I gotta go dry my tears and pretend I had something in my eye.

Side note. Talia Shire. Every Rocky movie….Every Godfather movie. I hope her agent was well compensated.

Wonderful reaction Ames. Like Rocky said you're not punchy Ames you just have a relaxed brain 😉. Every Rocky movie has great moments. You really should watch all of the Rocky and Creed movies ASAP. There are so many great characters in these movies. Rocky and Adrian are really one of the greatest movie couples ever. Talia Shire is just so fantastic and she has just great chemistry with Stallone. Rocky is just such a good guy and Stallone really shines in the role. You just have to admire what the man has done with both the Rocky and Rambo series. Carl Weathers is so amazing in every movie he's in and especially as Apollo Creed. Creed is a better fighter, but Rocky is just a greasy, fast, 200-pound Italian tank. You just can't take Rocky down no matter how much of a beating he takes. Creed really is a showman like Ali. Burt Young is great as Paulie. But I have to say that my favorite is probably Mickey. Burgess Meredith is just mind blowing as Mickey. He steals every scene he's in. Mickey has the best lines and he's delivery is so great. Mickey gives it to you straight. Tony Burton is also great as Duke. On another note I was really hoping Slap Shot would have won the poll so you could see the best hockey movie ever with no other than Paul Newman.

I like a good love story. The last 30 minutes of this movie are awesome. Really delivered. The boxing match is brutal but well done. I like the beginning in revisiting the last movie and starting when left off. They are a handsome couple in their wedding. Yes, that was a Pontiac Trans Am. In the late 1970's, I remember a couple of kids in my high school having one. Rocky is such an endearing guy. I will say that Rocky (1976) remains my No. 1 underdog movie of all time, but that's not a knock on Rocky 2 -- instead just the high bar of Rocky (1976). Carl Weathers is incredibly good acting in this. You had an emotional reaction. Even I got teary-eyed when he was running to and up the steps.

Would welcome you reacting to more sports movies. Below is a long list. *Invictus (2009) (Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon) - rugby (based on true story) *A League of Their Own (1992) (Tom Hanks, Geena Davis) - women baseball *Bend It Like Beckham (2002) (Keira Knightley) - great soccer movie *Friday Night Lights (2004) (Billy Bob Thorton) - Texas high school football *Hoosiers (1986) (Gene Hackman, Dennis Hopper) *Remember the Titans (2000) (Denzel Washington) *Miracle (2004) (Kurt Russell) - hockey (based on true story) *McFarland, USA (2015) (Kevin Costner) -- inspirational *Chariots of Fire (1981) - Olympics sprinting (based on true story) *Eddie the Eagle (2016) (Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman) - Olympics ski jumping *Million Dollar Baby (2004) (Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank, Morgan Freeman) - boxing. Won 4 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director (Eastwood), Best Actress (Hillary Swank), Best Supporting Actor (Morgan Freeman)

I cannot lie, I don't vibe with this movie, it feels like a TV movie from 1979 to me. But the reaction was so much fun (as usual!) and I must say I LOVE what you wrote about the Rocky character and what you love about him, and how he can be a very easy and accessible source of inspiration! For everybody! (It also burns me up that so-called acting coaches would discourage you like that! There was always a type of acting teacher that was so full of ego and flakiness and power trips. I imagine that's what you were cursed with.)

Great reaction

Thank you Ames for this reaction. It’s my favorite of yours so far and please keep up keeping it real the way you do. I’ve seen this movie probably over 10 times and I still can’t help but to cry “with” you. Can’t wait for your reactions to 3&4. I’m new Patreon with you and have tried out other reactors and quit but imma renew with you cause you just keep it so real and I love the way we have a lot of the same takes. (Call that conceited but sue me). Anyways great reaction. Keep it up!!!

Wade Wallenstein

I haven’t watched the Rocky films in years so it’s great to do it again! These were on cable for years so I remember them. The next one is awesome. Happy to hear you’ve seen Over the Top! Stallone has done so many “Under the Radar” films but always gives his best. Among my favorites are Oscar, Judge Dredd and Demolition Man.

just waiting for the YT edit version🥹🥹🥹
