Minority Report (2002) - Spielberg/Cruise collab. Has aged remarkably well, in my opinion. Also evidence of how insanely versatile Spielberg is, able to drastically alter his approach to fit the material. Innerspace (1987) - A Joe Dante movie. (You just saw "The Burbs" which was also directed by Dante.) Coincidentally, executive produced by Spielberg.

Snatch (2000)! I feel like a broken record but it's genuinely such a great film. I think you'd enjoy it. If I had to pick another it would be A Knights Tale (2001)

Jack Pflieder

The Transformers the Movie (1986) The movie that traumatized a generation. Nixon (1994) Oliver stone bio pick of former President Richard Nixon and Athony Hopkins best performance IMO.

"The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou". a wes anderson film and one of my favs. no wes anderson films on the list? come on. and it has bill murray as the lead. Can I recommend a movie and a tv show? Movie recommendation: Annihilation Tv show recommendation: From

Loretta

Hot Shots! (1991) Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991)

Josh T

Quiz Show 1994 and Real Genius 1985

Wally Hartshorn

La Femme Nikita (1990): It's in French with subtitles, but it is an amazingly well done, stylish thriller. The Big Chill (1983): A story about looking back at the idealism of our youth and wondering what happened. Excellent writing, subtle performances, and a wonderful soundtrack.

Walt

------------------------------------- Blow-Up (1966) ------------------------------------- This movie inspired Francis Coppola to make "The Conversation" and Brian DePalma to make "Blow-Out." Both terrific movies with some strong (but general) similarities to "Blow-Up", but knowing that doesn't spoil anything. My favorite of Antonioni's peak 1960-1975 output (although "The Passenger" is sooo close). (I highly recommend watching Francis Coppola's visit to the Criterion Closet, it's only 6.5 minutes long, he talks briefly about "Blow-Up" at 5:25: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgWDtPVNQ7Y ) ------------------------------------- Black Narcissus (1947) ------------------------------------- IMHO, the best of the Powell/Pressburger collaborations. It's really something to see.

Sonny

I'm still recommending Cinderella Man. And the little seen The Best of Times starring Robin Williams

Toc

The King Of Comedy (1982) Election (1999)

Phubarrh

Two key titles I would suggest as an adjunct to your 007 movie viewing... Our Man Flint (1966): The biggest hit spoof of the spy craze, which made James Coburn a star and gets frequently name-checked in Austin Powers The Ipcress File (1965): A Bond-adjacent film from the same producer, with a ton of style and starring Michael Caine

Alex

Flags of Our Fathers/Letters From Iwo Jima. These two movies go together they are different perspectives of the same battle.

Gary Poussard

The Last StarFighter (1984) and Before Sunrise (1995)

Matthew Fentress

A Dog's Purpose (2017) and Double Jeopardy (1999)
