#35 on the AFI List Annie Hall (1977). It was wonderful to watch Diane Keaton in this! No wonder why everyone loves her! She's so adorable and loveable. I love how different she is from Kay in The Godfather. Woody Allen is for sure an interesting and unique story teller. I see this film inspiring a lot of other films especially in the rom-com genre. Some great comedic moments scattered through the film, which I probably missed some, because of my age and not knowing about certain things, but still had some good laughs.

I hope you enjoy this one! Let me know your thoughts below!

More Woody Allen, please! I would love to see reactions to "Manhattan" and to "Hannah and Her Sisters".

Great movie that won best picture. Woody Allen is a great director. It has been a long time since I had seen this one and was surprised by all the great actors making cameos in the movie. Also forgot Paul Simon was in it. One of my favorite Woody Allen movie is "The Purple Rose of Cairo" (1985)

It's funny, because I'm not much of a Woody Allen fan anymore -- but, wow, this movie and a few others he made back in the day (Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters, Radio Days, Purple Rose of Cairo) are just amazing. Ames, I hope you will react to some of those! Two other things you mentioned: 1) That beautiful cinematography you admired so much is by the legendary Gordon Willis, who also did the Godfather films along with All the President's Men and several other classics. He was such a genius. 2) Fellini! Yes, you really should react to La Strada, and Nights of Caberia, and maybe Amarcord. Expanding your horizons to take in some of the great foreign films from Italy, Japan, Germany, France, etc., would be fantastic.

Sorry, but this film just doesn't do it for me. I know it's a fan favorite, I know it is highly respected, i know it won lots of awards, and I won't argue with any of that. A film that delights as many people as it does well deserves the praise and accolades. But just for me personally, I can't sit through it. I made it to the lobster scene this time, and I had to turn it off. I kept waiting for some reason to care about anybody in this story, and I couldn't. So, for me, it's the equivalent of a TL;DR. I just had to stop and find something else that could engage my fancy. I guess no film can please everyone, and I'll happily count myself as an outlier in all this, but it is what it is, and it just didn't happen for me. I hope everyone else enjoyed it. Best wishes, and see you soon when the film du jour is more my style.

im glad you enjoyed. I dont judge others' enjoyment, and Diane Keaton is great............but woody allen is a pedo and I'll never get over the idea they gave this movie best picture over the original Star Wars............

Bit of trivia. Alvy’s girlfriend at the end, the tall woman standing with him when he meets Annie and her boyfriend is Sigourney Weaver.
