A very creepy and effective movie that stuck with me for days after watching it. I kept changing my perception on what actually happened and it took a second watching to pull it together. A challenging but rewarding film. The actress who plays Piper is visually impaired and was amazing as was the whole cast. FYI, I hear some of the demons from Talk To Me appear in the beginning of this. So many reasons for a rewatch. Horror is no longer limited to slashers, vampires and haunted houses. It’s exciting to see the artistic contributions by original creators like the Philippou brothers, Ari Aster, Osgood Perkins, Jordan Peele, Zach Creggar, Robert Eggers, Coralie Fargeat, Ti West, Damian Rugna, and Mike Flannigan.

Full Spoiler Alert!! Here are some comments I made right after I saw it the first time in a YouTube review comment section. Watching it again clarified some things but not others. …. Watched this movie today. I wanted to mention a few things, and some I may just be misremembering so please forgive me. 1. Did they explain why Laura cuts the father’s hair and feeds it to Ollie? 2. The code you mention starts with the number 4, which leads me to believe that theres a fourth instruction we weren’t privy to. I have two theories on that. Laura, when she was attempting to drown Piper, seemed to be muttering an incantation under her breath, maybe that was related. OR, maybe there was a fourth instruction that somehow dealt with the demon, and it was never done. Which means it’s out there somewhere. Probably turning off your lights lol 3. This is more of a hole that made no sense. Andy convinced Wendy to go to Laura’s by telling her that there was a kidnapped child there and he says it RIGHT in front of a cop or security. Yet there are no police going with them. That’s a weird plot hole for me. 4. Here’s my wild theory about the ending. When Ollie is chasing Piper, she escapes, he watches her do so. At that point he is still full belly and loaded to transfer Kathy puke into whatever it can. I think that when Laura realizes Piper is not an option, she grabs Kathys body, brings it to Ollie, and then she drowns herself so Kathy has a body to go to. That last shot of them lying in water, Laura is holding Kathy. For all we know at that point Kathy’s soul is now in Laura’s body. 5. Am I the only one who thought it was possible that Ollie WAS Kathy? He had very feminine features, and they kept showing glimpses of Kathy but never the face. It was all before things were clearer as to what Laura was doing. Anyway, it’s one of those movies that begs discussion and dissection. Even if my theories are hogwash.
