I’m treating this as an unofficial sequel to Uncle Buck. It’s been a rough 36 years for Chanice. The film has lots of creepy moments and I found the alternating/overlapping narrative structure engaging. However, the ending felt a little flat. No explanation for the narrator, “Maddie”, and how she knows the story. No resolution for Justine in the final narration. And, not for nothing, while Maddie says the town covered it up, I’d have liked to have known how a dead cop and an old lady torn apart by children was explained. But like the Stones sang, “You can’t always get what you want…”
