Neat!

Janeway knows

This was a great reaction, you noticed a key fact early, that Riker had no phaser showing up back on the ship

One thing that really stands out is the prowess of Laforge, I was impressed at is program "LaForge 1". Speaking as an engineer myself, I cant think of anytime I've gotten something right on the first try 🤯. The random thoughts I think about watching TNG 🤣

I was with you the whole way during the reaction. Riker is one of my favorite characters. Offensive to me that he was essentially accused of attempted rape, especially without reliable evidence. Riker is a ladies man but he treats women with respect. He is good at connecting with women and treating them well. Data's critique of Picard's painting at the beginning of the episode was kind of funny.

I tend to like these types of episodes more during your reactions than before. You kinda remove the ‘filler’ label on them for me. Next week….there will be no such issue. 😳

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Let's just get this out of the way first, if they were going to do an episode that is some version of "truth is all just subjective" then I kinda wish they had picked a different topic. But I'm not going to get too bent about it, either. It is what it is Now having said that, I do really like the concept. Especially the use of the holodeck, I definitely enjoy these sorts of forensic uses for it as a story device more than the "we're in the holodeck recreationally and then something goes wrong." It's also a good acting outing for WF, using that very expressive face of his well. Certainly not anywhere near one of my favourites but another fairly solid S3 ep.

Great reaction! You’re like a kid in the candy shop with these episodes, I love it!

I said it a few posts down, but Data saying complimentary things about all the art students, then giving Picard the slow-burn side eye after seeing his painting, is one of the most hilarious moments ever on the show.

Ames, what you said near the end was correct, and I think it’s why I have loved engineering my whole life… science, and engineering tests don’t lie. It makes searching for the truth possible. It doesn’t matter how much BS is poured on by some manager or manipulator. Machines don’t lie. They don’t have egos. When we run a test and we see a result we don’t expect, that is the machine trying to tell us the truth. Trying to teach us something, trying to correct our incorrect expectations. I’ve seen vice-presidents humbled by the truth and the ideas of humble shop assistants elevated to high levels of respect. It is awesome.
