Always good to see this movie again, definitely a mainstay from my era. It felt like you enjoyed it during the reaction at least. Searchers then TNG. Always look forward to TNG.

Bronson Pinchot who played Serge went from being a complete unknown to wildly famous overnight because of this role. He landed a TV series called Perfect Strangers that ran for 8 seasons. He played a character similar to Serge named Balki Bartokomous.

Gardner von Holt

You mentioned a couple times about watching his standup -- there are a couple of concert films that i would consider, depending on what you want to see, Delirious and Raw. Delirious is an earlier one, and Raw -- a couple years later -- well, its an experience.

1980-1983 In the early 1980s, Murphy first earned national attention as an SNL cast member (the best SNL cast member of his era) and was credited with helping to revitalize SNL. I loved him on SNL. I was 19 when his first movie 48 Hrs. (1982) released and loved that. More noir than BHC (1984) imo. I have nostalgia for 48 Hrs. (1982). I also liked Trading Places (1983) and still do. We were blown away by “Delirious” (1983) (won Grammy for Best Comedy Album). We had never heard anything like it. Raunchy. Perfect for us at age 20. Eddie Murphy was an icon to us. 1984-1987 BHC (1984) was a hit but I didn’t jump on the bandwagon [I preferred 48 Hrs. (1982).] With that said, I’ve watched BHC (1984) twice recently and has grown on me. Murphy has charisma. Plus, Billy and Taggart add to the movie. Your reaction was great. Then came his stand-up “Raw” (1987) (highest-grossing stand-up comedy concert film ever released). We loved it. Eddie Murphy early stand-up [“Delirious” (1983) and “Raw” (1987)] (profane, popular, groundbreaking -- could be offensive to some) was awesome but may not have aged well? A bit more trivia, Inspector Todd was actually the real lead of the Detroit Precinct where those scenes were filmed, and with a few acting lessons was cast as the Inspector in the movie. This was delightful reaction, Aimes, and the timing was perfect. Thank you! :)

fun movie, the first is the best of the BHC movies. I do recommend 48 Hrs. (1982)

My favourite Eddie Murphy movie is definitely Bowfinger (1999)
