I hope you enjoy watching this film with me if you have seen it or not!

I love how I always confused myself in old movies but then it all comes around haha! Prob cause I talk over everything :) I have much respect for this film! And I fell in love with Ella Raines! Something about the 40s!! This one didn’t feel super dark like a typical noir but I guess what I’ve read since is that it kicked off the genre? I loved the story and seeing a woman at the forefront being an every day woman instead of the cliche femme fatale.

I am ready! This is one I've never seen! Very intrigued! I didn't even know it's supposed to be a noir! I thought it was a 40s horror movie! Psyched!

Ames, if you fell in love with Ella Raines, then you MUST watch "Hail the Conquering Hero," one of those all-time great comedies directed by Preston Sturges.

Definitely psyched to watch this. Kicked off Noir? lol no….this is definitely film noir. But whatever it is, it’s a damn good movie.

That jazz club basement scene though. Frenetic and completely wild and sexual, with her being bounced around and trying to keep a smile. Crazy stuff.

That was a ton of fun! Hadn't seen this one in a while and it was good to be reminded of the source of my distrust of women in hats and men named Franchot. The great Bob Siodmak directing a Woolrich story with Elisha Cook Jr up to no good? Any of those three would make it worth our time, but all three in one place, plus a memorable against type heroine coolly played by the always underrated Ella Raines, basing her performance entirely on the producer of this movie (and former Hitchcock scribe) Joan Harrison--an utter delight! What a year '44 was for noirs, huh? Laura, Woman in the Window, Murder, My Sweet AND Double Indemnity. Wow!
