Nobody directs violence better than Mel Gibson. Since you loved this film Ames, you need to add BRAVEHEART and APOCALYPTO to your list. Both are masterpieces and prove Mel Gibson is one of the best directors working today..

ive seen braveheart as a kid but never apocalypto!

Thanks for this reaction! I never get to connect with anyone emotionally with films. Most people around me don’t connect to stories like I do. It’s refreshing to enjoy those moments with others that emotionally connect to the stories I do as well! Keep it coming.

This was epic Ames ! I have no other words.

Really great movie! Another war movie that I think would be worth checking out is Windtalkers (2002), about how the US used Navajo code talkers as radiomen on the battlefield during the war in the pacific against the Japanese. Now it’s not as top tier as Hacksaw Ridge lol but it does a good enough job showing how the Navajo language was in the field. It was directed by John Woo, starring Nicolas Cage so there’s a bit more emphasis on the action scenes than the historical accuracies lol
