FML what a ride. I felt like I was in a trance. Almost barfed. Cant' wait to share.

Totally bizarre but good movie, supposedly Martin Sheen was half drunk or on other substances during most of the filming but no one even cared because it kinda flowed with the vibe of the film... lol

Yeah, it's a journey.

FYI, this movie is known to have had one of the most difficult shoots of all time. Took way longer than expected, massive cost overruns, lead actor had a heart attack, Brando showed up wildly overweight and not knowing his lines, etc. It was so bad that there’s even been a movie made about how difficult it was to make this movie - it’s called Heart of Darkness.

A masterclass of filmmaking! From the cinematography, music, direction and the sheer LOGISTICS of filming on location in the Philippines for almost 2 years the story on how he pulled it off and the strain it put on the cast crew and his marriage is LEGENDARY… The documentary of the making of this movie is just as good! Look for HEARTS OF. DARKNESS on DVD or a streaming service. The more you learn about it the more your respect grows for what Coppola accomplished…

3 time Oscar legend Vittorio Storaro… the entire camera crew was Italian on this film. If you liked this you’ll love Vilmos Zsigmonds work on THE DEER HUNTER…

Seeing the comments, responses, knowing the background of this movie... etc. I cannot wait for this watch along.

Lawrence Fishburne lied about his age. He was 16 when filming started. By the time it was discovered he was underage he was already 18 😂😂

Which version did you watch? I have three different versions on Blu-ray so I want to make sure it's the right one.

The "professionalism about movies" is finally being destroyed now with the development of technology and computer graphics to finally become an art form, as Coppola says at the end of the documentary for Apocalypse Now, "Hearts of Darkness". Here's a link to that documentary that someone posted on YouTube... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7neUW0TOkaw

Find it funny we have Harrison Ford and his character name is Colonel Lucas. General calls him Luke in the movie. Maybe an Easter egg of the Lucas, Coppola friendship.
