Happy Thanksgiving to my American Friends down south! I wish you all a wonderful weekend with all your friends and family! (In Canada we have already celebrated Thanksgiving back in October)! I’m so thankful for each and everyone of you! And I hope your day is full of laughter and a hearty meal!

Again, with another Blockbuster Meme to walk down memory lane! To a more simple time when you sat down to watch your movie and the last person didn’t rewind 🤣

If you ever visit the states, Bend, Oregon has the last operating Blockbuster on the planet lol I have relatives who live there and went the last time I visited, it was awesome lol And happy thanksgiving!

1996?? Nah, more like 2002 and stopped by blockbuster after dinner with your date.. and we both knew what " hey, let's rent instead of going to a movie" meant 😁.. Happy Turkey day!! 🦃

My favorite VHS memory was around Christmas of 1980, I was 13. My father had gotten the family the first VHS player I’d ever seen, and a subscription to a rental store named “Alice In Videoland” (back then you had to pay to be a member to even have the privilege of renting movies). They rented not only videotapes, but Atari VCS games also. My first picks? Battlestar Galactica for a movie, and Adventure for the Atari. We only had one TV so it was a constant fight to watch your movie or play your game. A few months later my father, through a friend at work, somehow got a really poor fuzzy pirated copy of Star Wars, it would also skip ahead a few minutes every once in a while so you missed stuff. My guess is that that was when they changed the reels on the projector they used to pirate the movie. Suddenly I had kids at school I’d never talked to asking if they could come over and watch it. Obviously the world’s changed a bit since then…

Thanks for remembering us! I still have my gold Blockbuster membership card, from before they started charging the yearly fee. I rented 100 movies in one year, after that it was gold membership for life, with free non-new release rentals every week.

Thank you Ames and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!

We don't do Thanksgiving in the UK but I trust yours was a happy one.

If you guys haven't seen the comedy drama "Be Kind, Rewind" (2008), starring Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover & Mia Farrow, then I suggest you check it out if you want?
