Do you have a list somewhere where you list all the movies you have seen? Maybe listing off movies you have seen already. Alien(s). Back to the future. Terminator. The Abyss. Predator. Jurassic Park. Robocop. The Thing, The Arrival (1996).

Carl Lyngholm

A couple obvious ones: 1. 2001: A Space Odyssey 2. Alien More modern: 3. Arrival 4. 12 Monkeys I un-nominate any of these that you might have already seen, as I would rather you watch something you haven't seen before.

RFK Fan

I’m gonna avoid all the obvious choices (blade runner/matrix/dune) and nominate the sci-fi sleepers like : DARK CITY… EQUILIBRIUM….ELYSIUM….THE SHAPE OF WATER….GRAVITY…. SUNSHINE… Comedy? DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS… KINGPIN….DAVE….SPINAL TAP…..

Guys, Ames has already seen Arrival, Interstellar, & The Martian. I wouldn't mind a re-watch of Arrival. I'd like to see Ames react to Firefly, both the 14 episodes and the film Serenity (2005).

Does “Dystopian Future” count as Science Fiction? I already mentioned Children of Men, can’t believe I overlooked Mad Max: Fury Road, also just The Road with Viggo Mortensen and The Last of Us (probably falls more into Zombie/Horror). Also Dredd, Battleship, and Darkest Hour are good popcorn movies.

Shawn Goforth

I think we almost have the complete collected works of David Cronenberg listed, after the first hour.

Dune (2021) Denis Villeneuve at his best! And the best version of this story

Predestination with Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook (2014) - a very smart time travel story that didn't get the attention it deserved (maybe its time has come?)

Hold Down A

Thanks everyone!! WHOOOO might have to do 2 polls a lot of great stuff I haven't seen on here!!

Clay F

Sci-fi movies outside of the 80s to consider: Planet of the Apes [a big time fav of mine but unlikely to win in a poll] Alien (1979) Star Trek (2009) [this is super cool to me] Minority Report (2002) [Tom Cruise] Moon (2009) [Sam Rockwell] Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) [James Franco] Star Trek: First Contact (1996) A Quiet Place (2018) Donnie Darko (2001) [a young Jake Gyllenhaal] Idiocracy (2006) [Funny] Rogue One (2016) [takes place in the weeks leading up to Star Wars IV (1977)] Avatar (2009)

Jim Finley

Got another suggestion, since you've seen Predestination: if you're interested at all in SF series, Fringe is one of the best ever made. It ran for five seasons, from 2008-2012. Rotten Tomatoes averages of 90% Tomatometer and 79% audience score. Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, John Noble, the late beloved Lance Reddick, Jasika Nicole, and Blair Brown as main characters. Kirk Acevedo and Leonard Nimoy are in there too. Kind of an X-files vibe with the kind of character and relationship development you can only have in a series, along with great writing, acting, and production values. I just finished rewatching it a few minutes ago - binged the last six episodes of season 5. Being a retired old fart, I can stay up until 3:00 a.m. watching whatever and just sleep in . . .
