Main Stream: Moonstruck (1987) Me and my wife's favorite romantic comedy, won three Oscars, including Best Actress for Cher and Supporting Actress for Olympia Dukakis. Very good movie. The Untouchables (1987) Very fictionalized story about the downfall of Al Capone (Robert De Niro) at the hands of Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner). Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Sean Connery. Off the wall: Grand Prix (1966) Has a stellar lead cast and some of the most amazing cinematography I've ever seen. What many call the greatest racing film ever made. True Stories (1986) A quirky, fun, surrealistic musical comedy about life in Virgil, Texas, as written and directed by David Byrne of the Talking Heads.

Gary Trousdale

Little Big Man 1970, Dustin Hoffman, Faye Dunaway. Directed by Arthur Penn World War Z 2013, Brad Pitt, Mirelle Enos. Directed by Marc Forster

How fun! Because the "Dazed And Confused" reaction was so great, I have to pick "American Graffiti" as one of my choices! That's one I'm dying to see you do, after "Dazed". Aaaand....off the top of my head........"The King Of Comedy"! Yeah! Scorsese, De Niro, Sandra Bernhardt, 1982, dark comedy! So..... "American Graffiti" (1973, George Lucas) and "The King Of Comedy" (1982, Scorsese)! Super great classics.....but may the best film win!

Coma 1978 Surprisingly gripping thriller, still relevant today in some of its themes, often overlooked and underrated. Sanjuro 1962 It wont get selected, but it should. One of the first Kurosawa films I ever saw, and its a fantastic story and characters.

Only the Brave (2017) Josh Brolin & Miles Teller are in it together!

PLATOON (1986). AFI Top 100. Winner Best Picture Oscar. Oliver Stone. Charlie Sheen a narrator like his dad. This movie might be competitive in the poll. LINCOLN (2012). Daniel Day-Lewis won Oscar for Best Actor -- transformed himself into Lincoln. The movie nominated for 12 Oscars, the most of that year. Nominated for Best Picture Oscar. Tommy Lee Jones and Sally Field nominated for respective Oscars.

Annie Hall or Manhattan by Woody Allen. Tokyo Story for a classic Japanese film. Have you seen Spirited Away yet? Ummm, Lord of the Rings trilogy (really I prefer the theatrical, the cuts were good cuts because the pacing is better and unnecessary fluff left out).

Scott

12 o'clock high with Gregory Peck is an amazing film covering the 8th Air Force and the air war over Europe in WW2.

william johnson

"Hostiles" with the great Christian Bale and hauntingly tragic Rosamund Pike, with a minimalist score by Max Richter, with every note achingly emotive. (Or put it on the Westerns list....but so much more.)

Robert Berry

The original Robocop with Peter Weller (1987) Beverly Hills Cop (1984) in honor of the upcoming Netflix sequel...

One of my all-time favorite movies is Captain Newman, M.D. (1963) with Gregory Peck, Angie Dickinson, Tony Curtis and Bobby Darin (nominated for best supporting actor and was robbed!) Not sure if this is available to stream but so worth buying the DVD.
