Shinji only used his shikai while fighting Aizen. His bankai wasn't even in the manga, it's an anime only thing. But I think it's pretty cool that they're expanding on the manga stuff. 😁

Lol people always mix up shinji bankai with his shikai. That's the first time he has used his bankai in the anime. His shikai reverses your sense of direction and his bankai reverses your perception of ally and enemies. So you view your own allies as the enemy

Not sure if you saw the resemblance but the cang du guy is totally the inspiration for Toji from JJK he just made him less Chinese. Also the name is Chinese and they were doing some confusing stuff with the romanization of the names this arc. That’s why it’s spelt as cang du even though it’s pronounced sang tu. and jugram haschwalth is pronounced yugram hashvalt because that’s how that works in German.
