- We Robot!

  • Robotaxi: Less than $30,000. No pedals and no steering wheel. Heavily inspired Cybertruck front, still curvy like the S3XY lineup. 225/60/R21 rear tires. No NACS port, all inductive charging. Expected cost per mile is $0.20 to $0.30 cents. Vehicles will first be introduced to the California and Texas markets. Production in 2026. • Robovan: No cost given. No pedals and no steering wheel. Heavily inspired Art Deco design, like the Mercury Streamliner by the New York Central Railroad of the 1930s. Holds up to 20 people and can be used for cargo transport. Expected cost per mile is $0.05 to $0.10 cents. No details on production. Pics by Matthew Donegan-Ryan (@MatthewDR) and Ɖ𝕓𝕝ℂ𝕒𝕡ℂ𝕣𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕚𝕟 (@dblcapcrimpin).

  • Optimus: Optimus robots put on a show as they walked with guests throughout the event. From dancing, to pouring drinks at a bat, to playing rock, paper, scissors, they were presented as more human than ever before. Per Elon, "I think this will be the biggest product ever of any kind." $20,000 to $30,000.

- Giga Shanghai produced its 3 million car! Per Tesla China's Grace Tao Lin, "Today we released the Robotaxi driverless taxi, and here is more good news: Today, the Shanghai Gigafactory ushered in a new milestone - the 3 millionth vehicle rolled off the production line. It took Giga Shanghai 32 months to go from 0 to 1 million vehicles; 13 months to go from 2 million to 3 million vehicles. Each car is a small step, and 3 million is a big leap."

Per Tom Zhu (@tomzhu_nz), "It’s an honor to work with such a talented and hardworking team! Giga Shanghai team, you guys rock!"

- Delivery and logistics company DHL held a two-week trial with Tesla Semi. They posted, no deleted, that it averaged 1.72 kWh/mile while operating at average speeds over 50mph (80km/h) for over half of the time on the road. One test the Semi cover 390 miles (625km) while loaded with 75,000lbs (34 metric tons). The company confirmed the Tesla Semi was able carry a typical DHL payload over a long distance on a single charge.

- The Tesla Semi visited the Tesla Automation facility in Germany. Pics are by Tesla's Klaus Neureuther, "The future of heavy trucks has just begun. Ready to enter the European market! Pushing the boundaries of automation technology!"

- Giga Berlin will on-boarded 500 temporary workers into full-time positions beginning the 1st of November. Per Tesla, "The current decision is an expression of an optimistic assessment of the further development of e-car production in Grünheide."

- At Hem och Villamässan in Stockholm from today until the 13th Cybertruck will be on display. Demo Drives will be available of the entire S3XY lineup.

- According to the Tesla Charging account, the Tesla Lounge at the Kettleman City Supercharger will be getting an "Exciting refresh by end of year!"

- An inside look into Tesla's operations in Australia. This is the new development in Sydney. A massive new hub. Video by Tesla's APAC Construction Manager Ben Ridley. "A shout out to those involved in delivering this project at pace."

  • Giga Texas: Brad Sloan, 10th of October, '24.

■ SPACEX:

- This morning the final stack of Starship 30 on Super Heavy Booster 12 took place! Now we wait for the FAA launch license for this Sunday, the 13th of October. Per SpaceX, "Starship stacked ahead of its fifth flight test. We expect regulatory approval in time to fly on October 13." LFG!

- It appears that Starship 30 has new heat shield test tiles for the upcoming flight. Pic by @StarshipGazer.

- SpaceX VP Bill Gerstenmaier on Booster 11 soft water landing, "We landed with half a centimeter accuracy in the ocean’ on the previous flight, so we think we have a reasonable chance to go back to the tower."

- SpaceX announced that they can now use the SuperDracos of the Dragon Capsule as a backup in case of parachute failure. According to Bill Gerstenmaier confirms it allows Dragon to fire the SuperDracos "at the very end" to provide a "tolerable landing" for the crew.

- Yesterday, The California Coastal Commission voted 6-4 denying SpaceX an increase in Falcon 9 launches at Vandenberg Space Force Base. SpaceX want to go from 36 to 50 for the rest of this year and up to 100 for 2025. There reasoning? Commissioner Gretchen Newsom, "Right now, Elon Musk is hopping about the country, spewing and tweeting political falsehoods and attacking FEMA while claiming his desire to help the hurricane victims with free Starlink access to the internet." Best thing about this, the US military can override the vote, forcing the commission to pursue mediation or a lawsuit.

Countdown to 144 (94 - Falcon 9, 1 - Falcon Heavy, and 2 - Starship):

  • Launch 98! Sunday, 13 of October, at 7:00 a.m. CT, Starship 30 Super Heavy Booster 12 ITF-5 will launch from Orbital Launch Mount A (OLM-A) at Starbase, Texas. • Launch 99! Sunday, 13th of October, at 12:12 p.m. ET, Falcon Heavy Europa Clipper will launch from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Europa Clipper is the first dedicated NASA mission to study Jupiter’s moon Europa. It comprises of an orbiter spacecraft, which, while in orbit around Jupiter, will perform numerous flybys over Europa. Its payload suit included high-resolution cameras and spectrometers for imaging Europa’s surface and thin atmosphere, an ice-penetrating radar to search for subsurface water, and a magnetometer and gravity measurements to measure the moon’s magnetic field and unlock clues about its ocean and deep interior. As of now, all three boosters will be expended in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Launch 100! Monday, 14th of October, at 1:48 a.m. ET, Falcon 9 Starlink 10-10 will launch from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

- Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is using Starlink. Per DPS Robert Cameron, "All day, high-speed internet, anywhere in Texas, on a Starlink Mini. Powered by our Sun. No generators, no long cables, no separate router, no worrying if a tower is close, or what carrier it is. Game changer. Thanks, SpaceX."

- Per Philipp Stratmann, CEO at Ocean Power Technologies, "A small flotilla of Ocean Power Technologies' WAM-Vs ready for deployment. This is force multiplication in action. Combining these USVs with our PowerBuoys enables resident, persistent, and autonomous ocean ISR. And thanks to SpaceX, we can communicate from anywhere via Starlink. Ocean security is national security!"

■ ELON NEWS:

- On Tuesday, OPenAI has filed a motion for dismissal before a California federal court, stating "Elon's suit is the latest move in an increasingly blusterous campaign to harass OpenAI for his own competitive advantage. Elon once supported its core goal of seeking safe and beneficial development of artificial general intelligence, but abandoned the venture when his bid to dominate it failed." They believe his latest lawsuit is also an attempt at leveraging the judicial system to gain a competitive edge for xAI.

- In September, Elon donated $1 million to the Texas for Lawsuit Reform PAC. This PAC donates to pro-business conservative candidates in Texas legislative races.
