■ SPACEX:
- Last night, launch 39 of Falcon 9 Fram2 took place from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Named after the Norwegian polar research ship Fram, the Crew Dragon Resilience was launched into a 90° circular orbit from Florida, making it the first human spaceflight to fly over Earth’s polar regions from low-Earth orbit. The Crew will conduct 22 science experiments while onboard. Also, a piece of the original Fram exploration ship to complete voyages to the Arctic and Antarctica in the late 1800s will orbit with the crew.
This was the 6th flight of first stage booster B1085. It previously launched Crew-9, GPS III-7, Blue Ghost Mission 1 & HAKUTO-R M2 “Resilience”, and two Starlink missions. The booster landed on drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean.

Hours later we had our first views of the polar regions. Follow Dragon and Fram2 during their mission here. For a breakdown of the crew and mission, click here!

■ NEURALINK:
- So today, Neuralink announced the Patient Registry is now available worldwide, but have since taken it down. Not sure why. The above pic was attached to the now deleted post.
■ STARLINK:
- The Quebec government awarded a new $826,007 contract to an Alberta-based service provider to install Starlink in remote courthouses. The choice was made despite the ongoing tariff disputes with the U.S. Per Quebec Justice Department spokesperson Cathy Chenard, "There is currently no satisfactory alternative equivalent to Starlink technology that can meet the needs of the Circuit Court while also providing sufficient performance. Analysis is ongoing to find a satisfactory alternative." No specific locations were given.
- 5 Starlink High-Performance kits installed at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, Nigeria.
- SpaceX will install their first Starlink ground station in Danang, Vietnam, between May and June this year. The plan is to establish a network of 10 to 15 stations across the country as part of a five-year pilot program approved by the Vietnamese government. The initial station in Danang will cost approximately $3 million, contributing to a pledged $1.5 billion investment, and will serve up to 600,000 customers, with all internet traffic required to pass through local gateways for regulatory oversight. SpaceX will retain full control of their local subsidiary and bypass foreign ownership limits.
- David Turner and Scott Rowley from The Clarus Networks Group collaborated with Dave Fowler from LiveU to test a resilient live broadcasting setup at the remote Nairn Golf Club in Scotland. This test utilized a Starlink Mini and Starlink V4 and showcased how Starlink connectivity can deliver high-quality live video from challenging locations. They proved their enhanced flexibility and sustainability in sports and event broadcasting by reducing reliance on generators, cables, and mobile towers.
- It is being reported that Starlink has reached full capacity in 21 municipalities in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area, including the capital. Per Anatel, the city of Rio de Janeiro leads Brazil with 3,400 subscribers as of January. Other areas like central São Paulo, central Manaus, and Tabatinga (AM) also face capacity limits. Of note, Starlink is is aimed at remote areas.
