■ TESLA $TSLA ($362.89, +6.94%):
- "America's truck. Now on top of America's mountain." This is such a beautiful shot by Stephen Kneubuehl (@kneubuehl).
- I went to the Brookshire Megafactory build site this past weekend and man are moving fast. Was not expecting so much steel in the area. Remember that the existing DC is going to be the factory. This area is going to be the distribution area. Thanks for the shoutout Now You Know!
- Jalisco, Mexico, Police Department has added three Cybertrucks to its fleet as part of a security strategy for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They will host 13 matches in Guadalajara and expect over 5 million visitors. The Cybertrucks join 678 new patrol vehicles, including "Black Mambas" (armored tanks), to enhance safety and project a modern image.
- Great thread of what could be the refresh Model X by Techie Dani (@techiedani).

FLYOVERS (flight links in sources section):
Lithium Refinery: Joe Tegtmeyer (@JoeTegtmeyer), 27th of May, '25. On his way to Starbase, Joe made his routine stop at the Lithium Refinery in Robstown. Lots of progress as the site grows. Subscribe to Joe and support his work!
Giga Texas: Brad Sloan, 26th of May, '25. Semi and Megacharger spotted at the End of Line! Many of us have been waiting, I know I have, for Tesla to put this vertical integration to work at Giga Texas. Soon we will see Tesla Semis delivery Teslas to the RCR Taylor, TX, Railyard!
Per Tesla Semi Lead Dan Priestley (@danWpriestley) on why there is not a pull through charger, "Charging configuration varies by site and operation. Bobtail (w/o trailer) charging often is best for sites where the truck is domiciled and charging between shifts. Pull through for on road charging or where tractor and trailer stay married."
Giga Nevada Semi Factory: Zanegler (@HinrichsZane), 23rd of May, '25. Progress on both the stamping extension and Megachargers. Loving the Main Entrance! Subscribe to Zane and support his work!
Nevada Semi Pilot Production Facility: Zanegler, 23rd of May, '25. Component parts seen on the outside of the building plus a few Semis.

- Cargo Dragon C209 of the CRS-32 mission departed from the International Space Station Friday with nearly 6,700 pounds of supplies, science experiments, and equipment including MISSE-20 (Multipurpose International Space Station Experiment), Astrobee-REACCH (Responsive Engaging Arms for Captive Care and Handling), Books from the Story Time from Space project, and OPTICA (Onboard Programmable Technology for Image Compression and Analysis). Dragon splashed down on Saturday off the southern coast of California near Oceanside.
The parachutes used on CRS-32 were the first built entirely in-house by SpaceX. "Tested earlier this year, they include key data-driven upgrades such as stronger joints and ribbons and a re-positioned pack for smoother deployment and inflation."
- High Bay is no more! Giga Bay incoming!
- Though no official announcement, it is being said that Starbase General Manager Kathy Lueders (@KathyLueders) is no longer with SpaceX.
- Last Thursday, the Highland Park High School robotics team, led by coach Kevin Morrison, visited Starbase where they toured rocket production areas, observed testing of Starship 35, and met with SpaceX engineers, including 2015 HPHS graduate Alex Stephens, who discussed prototyping and testing processes.
- Per Elon on heat tiles, "We need a heat shield that can handle Mars atmospheric entry conditions with a heavy payload, so the ballistic coefficient will necessarily be high. No one has ever made a truly reusable orbital heat shield, so this is an extremely tough problem. The Shuttle’s shields required extensive rework between flights. It will take many more design iterations for SpaceX to make the shield work well. We had to build the entire supply chain from glass and alumina to finished tiles, which is why the SpaceX heat shield factory at the Cape is shockingly enormous.
The angle of attack is significantly different during ascent, hypersonic flight and subsonic flight, so it is hard to overlap tiles consistent with the direction of air flow. Also, super hot plasma water-falling over the height differences between overlapping tiles would create heat concentrations that erode the tiles."

- Elon posted the following this weekend after the house GOP passed a bill that will increase the deficit. "I have come to the perhaps obvious conclusion that accelerating GDP growth is essential. DOGE has and will do great work to postpone the day of bankruptcy of America, but the profligacy of government means that only radical improvements in productivity can save our country."
- DOGE reported that 24 Chief Financial Officer Act agencies use 47 distinct financial management systems, with Homeland Security having 6 and Treasury 5, leading to inefficient practices like printing and manually re-entering data between systems. A consolidation effort has begun, with 3 agencies unifying procurement functions to cut waste. 3 agencies have consolidated so far.
- Last Thursday and Friday, agencies cancelled 81 contracts with a ceiling value of $368 million and savings of $244 million. This included a $423k State Department “technical consulting” contract for a “Bahrain workshop”.
- DOGE announced the Social Security Administration has finished the major cleanup initiative. ~12.3M individuals aged 120 and over have now been marked as deceased. Some complex cases remain, such as individuals with 2 or more different birth dates on file. These will be investigated in a follow-up effort.
- DOGE announced the Department of Labor is in the process of canceling around 12,800 licenses for phone lines. In the last 30 days only 4,000 out of the 16,800 were used. This will result in > $500k/yr in savings.
■ ELON NEWS:
- Per Elon, "Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms. I must be super focused on 𝕏/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out. As evidenced by the 𝕏 uptime issues this week, major operational improvements need to be made. The failover redundancy should have worked, but did not." Wartime CEO is back!
