"AI video generation is advancing at the speed of light..." - Elon Musk (@elonmusk)
■ TESLA $TSLA ($293.94, -6.79%):
- Yesterday, I checked the progress at the Brookshire Megafactory build site. Concrete is poured on the Empire Blvd side of the new distribution facility. You could see that the roofing waterproof membrane is being installed. And behind a temporary fence on the west side of the main factory, two large covered items have been stagged. Very possible that these are the first pieces of equipment for the main factory. The interior is now completely empty other than a few man-lifts. I have posted 24 photos and a video for subscribers.
- The July 4th weekend celebration at the Tesla Cypress Center in Houston had a great turnout. Clinton (@vanquishfoes) was a machine serving burgers, Micah (@mjm012) was dropping knowledge on potential customers, Mae (@maerob420) was chasing kids, and the Tesla team was busy selling and delivering. Great event!
- Elon replied to Randy Kirk's (@RandyWKirk1) plea to build a Solar Gigafactory and more Megafactories. "Thinking about it..."
- For June:
In the UK sales increased by +14% YoY, with 7,719 vehicles sold. The Model Y sold 4,181 units and the 3 sold 3,538 units.
In Türkiye, the Model Y was the best-selling car with 7,235 units sold.
In Taiwan, the Model Y was the No. 1 imported luxury SUV and the best selling EV. The Model 3 was the No. 1 imported luxury sedan and the 2nd best EV behind the Y.
In South Korea, the Model Y was not only the best-selling car of any kind for June, but the entire first half of 2025.

- Tesla Sweden refuted Teknikens Värld’s claims of deficient Model 3 brakes by citing 2021 tests showing braking distances of 36.5 meters for Model 3 RWD and 36.7 meters for Model 3 Long Range, outperforming nearly all competitors. They also highlighted the 3’s five-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP, NHTSA, and ANCAP, and its 2025 Euro NCAP safest car designation. Tesla criticized the magazine’s test methodology, noting real-world data and owner feedback contradicts the claims.
- The $514 million Tarong Megapack site at Stanwell’s Tarong Power Station in Queensland’s South Burnett has energized its two 275kV power transformers, moving it closer towards mid-2025 commissioning. ■ THE BORING COMPANY:
- A Boring Revolution's (@BoringPrufrock) latest video is a brief update on the Airport Loop and the new Airport Station at 5032 Palo Verde Road, opposite Harry Reid International Airport.
■ NEURALINK:
- Elon on the human brain being an LLM. "It’s just a "large model" at this point, not a large language model, as the new models are all multimodal. Video (with sound) will be a supermajority of the byte count. Also, we should think of models in terms of Gigabytes, not parameters, given heavy use of int4 & fp4."
- On the 4th of July, Brad Smith (@ALScyborg), was able to enjoy fireworks with his family this year. The first time in a long while. Per Brad, "While watching fireworks on the 4th of July, I realized that ALS had taken this experience from my family! Neuralink gave me that back!" Love this!
■ STARLINK:
- Starlink is aiding Texas flood victims by providing Mini kits for search and rescue connectivity in dead zones, offering one month of free service to thousands of customers in Kerr, Kendall, Llano, Travis, and Comal Counties. This includes those with paused service. T-Mobile has enabled basic SMS texting for customers via Starlink Direct to Cell to ensure anyone with a compatible smartphone in these areas can receive emergency alerts from public safety authorities.
- Starlink is now available in Qatar.
- British Army initiative, Project CENTAUR, has collaborated with industry to modernize the Bowman tactical communications system, integrating Starlink for comms and to extend geographical range and beyond line-of-sight capabilities. This allows CENTAUR's tactical radio systems to connect and deployed networks from peacetime locations for force dispersal and reducing asset exposure. Pic by the 1st Signal Regiment.
- Jamie Beard, owner of Live U, successfully deployed Starlink for Channel 5 News coverage of the Oasis reunion tour in Cardiff. Beard faced challenges as 1,645 fans saturated cell networks with social media posts, causing low signal on the Live U. Starlink enabled a successful shoot, edit, and send of the operation.
- Ookla's Q1 2025 data shows Starlink, used by Hawaiian Airlines and Qatar Airways, delivers in-flight Wi-Fi with median download speeds of 152.37 Mbps, upload speeds of 24.16 Mbps, and latency of 44 ms, far outperforming competitors like Hughes (84.55 Mbps download), Intelsat (61.61 Mbps), Viasat (50.38 Mbps), and Deutsche Telekom's LTE (4.14 Mbps).
- Daniele Tassara, Principal Network Engineer at Carnival Corporation, ""In the context of life, Connectivity is power." From the the most remote places on the ocean, having connectivity is always one of the greatest tools." Pic by Daniele.

■ X:
- Last Thursday, X held a Commerce & Brands Connect event at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in China. It showcased Shenzhen's evolution into a $400 billion GDP tech hub, hosting over 24 major trade shows yearly. The event featured X Amplify, a product leveraging AI-driven advertising with a 30% ROI boost. Per X Australia Market Director and Head of APAC Global Brands, Angus Keene (@anguskeene), "Well done XAPAC team on an incredible client event this week in Shenzhen, China! Special shout to Ian Wheeler (@iwheeler) and Sabrina Wang (@SabrinaWangGeng) bringing X Amplify from the UK to China."
- On Saturday, X Japan hosted a debate among nine Japanese party leaders, including representatives from the Liberal Democratic Party and opposition parties. This is ahead of the July 20th House of Councilors election. The event was streamed live on X and garnered 1.2 million views within the first hour. Per X Japan CEO Ayumu Matsuyama (@ayumu_matsuyama), "Thank you to all the party leaders for attending the leaders' debate at our X office. I hope this will lead to more exciting policy conversations and encourage more citizens to get out and vote."
- Grok Translate is now available to all English-speaking users on X.
■ xAI:
- Per Elon, "Grok understands memes. Think about that."
- xAI will build a NatGas Power Plant in Southaven and a Solar Plant in Boxtown. Here is your update on the current plans:
Block 1 is Colossus 2, and the open area next to it will be the Megapack site and Chiller Plant.
Block 2 is a former Duke Energy natural gas plant and where xAI will build a Compressed NatGas power plant. Workers have already been spotted on-site, and there are staging yards in the surrounding areas. Elon has confirmed the supplier is from overseas, but I do not know who it is, where it is coming from, or the type of CNG plant.
Block 3 is Colossus 1. It already has 216 Megapacks on site; maybe more now. Directly north of the data center, xAI will build the Gray Water Plant.
Block 4 is the 522 acres of the Frank C. Pidgeon Industrial Park that EDGE Memphis leased to xAI in October of 2024. This area will hold a Solar Plant. xAI has put the project on hold so the farmer who was leasing the area can get one final corn crop before he retires.
- A leaked benchmark revealed xAI’s Grok 4 scored 45% on the Humanities Last Exam (HLE), a rigorous test with 2,500 expert-crafted questions across 100+ disciplines, including 14% multimodal content and anti-memorization traps. This score surpasses most top-tier AI models, marking a significant achievement if verified. The source of the leak remains unknown.
- Per Elon, "We have improved Grok significantly. You should notice a difference when you ask Grok questions."
- xAI has released the Python SDK.
- xAI will soon give Grok cloud storage for your conversations and file uploads. H/T X Freeze (@amXFreeze).
- xAI's Attila Blenessy (@ablenessy) posted that the Grok Android app startup time is now ~20% faster just by using Startup & Baseline Profiles. "Data is still early but good signs; the app is still tiny but we already have three dex files."

$39M saved by restructuring two underutilized IT contracts.
■ ELON NEWS:
- On July 4th, Independence Day, Elon held a vote to see if we wanted a 3rd political party; the America Party. The results were 65.4% Yes and 34.6% No.
Per Elon after the vote. "By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.
One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts. Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.
When & where should we hold the inaugural American Party congress? This will be super fun!"
