The Dark Knight VII

Yea Episode 8, this was the movie that divided the fans, mostly because of the story, The film before this was directed by JJ Abrams, and this movie was written and directed by Ryan Johnson who felt like he took the story in who different directions. With Rey being a no body and not related to Luke, it also felt like he nerfed both Luke and Leia of their powers. By this age they should have been the most powerful Jedi Masters being the children of Vader. They barely display how powerful they are. Also I didn’t mind Luke having a character ark, but to just kill him off after his big comeback was also disappointing. Mark Hamill was also disappointed with how they wrote him, he had gotten back into good shape and training for nothing. So pretty much my point is compared to all the other better sequels they wrote in other Starwars stuff, they could have written a better story. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm so happy Sam liked it. Some days I say this is my second favourite after Revenge of the Sith. Other days its a bit of a second place tie with A New Hope. I have that 1 fav from each trilogy so far. I really do prefer what Rian Johnson did with his part in this trilogy over that of JJ Abrams. But I'm still excited to watch the next one with you guys. Especially since my memory of episode 9 is a little hazy.

You guys should consider reacting to the clone wars tv show! Definitely a lot of good world building and really cool story lines that flesh out the Star Wars universe. Plus the new Maul show ties into it and is sooooo good as well as the other spin off shows

Sam & Tristan

oh wow I didn't even think about how much of a disappointment that must have been for Mark Hamill but now that you mention it, it's not surprising! Imagine getting to reprise that iconic role just to die right away, I'd be bummed too

Sam & Tristan

I'm excited for the next one too and to see how they tie up this trilogy! 💫

Sam & Tristan

We’ll keep it in mind for sure especially since we’ve been having a lot of fun diving deeper into Star Wars lately. Really appreciate you throwing that out there!

The Dark Knight VII

Yes Sam the Force is strong in you, you predicted that Leia would demote Poe , that give permission to jump into an X-wing and blow shit up, I guess she’s always had a thing for bad boy pilots right? Poe is her new man lol. Also that R2 showing Luke the young Leia hologram message to convince him to train Rey hits harder now knowing Carrie is gone, always makes me cry. 😭

Sam & Tristan

awww yeah I remember when she passed but I hadn't watched Star Wars yet. That must have been so sad for you guys who already loved the movies then especially rewatching 😢
