I’m rolling this model into a contest later this week on Instagram: share your best three-color take on this highland cow, and the winner grabs three rolls of Bambu filament. It’ll go live on MakerWorld soon, but paid patrons of course get early access. The internal geometry is completely reworked with a hollow core, cutting filament use way down without losing any of the detail.

TMad_3D

there's no back to it...but still cool and going to print mine soon!

UnicornGraveyard

yeah, it's similar to a few others I've done where it's more like a mold, save a ton of time and filament

TMad_3D

Oh ok, this is only the 3rd model I've done from you. Can't wait!

Michael Daddone

You’re killing me over here…. Need to print this also

Sean Bass

So rad, I did order MORE filament, will be here Monday, I am going to wait to print this one.

Laughing Wolf Studio

Does it have a hole for hanging? I cant open the file at the moment

UnicornGraveyard

It’s got a hollow back, shaped more like a mold. a little lip at the top makes for easy hanging

Wade Enicks

why is this one not solid?

UnicornGraveyard

I was trying to save filament and print time, making it more like a mold/ mask. But I have gotten so many questions about it I’ll upload a solid version tonight

Wade Enicks

awesome!!! Thank you for all you do!

Printable3dLab

Did you happen to ever get the one that hand the backing on it uploaded?

UnicornGraveyard

I’ve been re slicing it all day and am just about to hit send ! Getting the right mix of paint, swaps, and quality

Printable3dLab

Did you upload the wrong one by chance? That one is still open lol

UnicornGraveyard

The geometry is the same except for the negative keyhole, slice with the provided profile and make sure that the slice mode in the “other” tab is set to “close holes” slice and print!

Printable3dLab

Super weird! I used exact same file yesterday and it kept slicing as hollow. I didn’t change a single setting and today it slices correct 😆 sorry for pestering you lol thanks!

UnicornGraveyard

The slicers be like that sometimes lol I feel bad I wasn’t able to get the geometry smooth, when I first made it I did a cut out in nomad for the mask and trying to get a flat again while maintaining the original shape was next to impossible. I tried for hours and then North Pole posted that video with this setting and was able to make it all work!

Trying to download the closed back on this file and it is opened.

UnicornGraveyard

Just make sure your slicer mode is set to “close holes”
