Hello friends! Today I'm back at the Monster Manual 2025 and made:

  • Basilisk - this was a fun mix of sculpting and modeling work. I was able to use the base mesh from the old one as a nice launching point, though this creature has some bodily differences like the longer neck and tail plus more rocky spines. For FDM printing this will print well if you tilt it to its side with the mouth facing upward. Resin users get the usual presupported file.

  • Bearded Devil - this evil devil soldier was an excellent piece to work on today! I really enjoyed working on the little face tentacles. For FDM printing you'll get your best results printing him on his back. The tentacles don't need supports from that angle and if you tilt it upward slightly so the tentacles are mostly pointed upward. For resin the usual presupported file is up.

More to come tomorrow! Enjoy!

I don’t think I’m being dramatic when I say I love you man. The 2025 bearded devil might be one of your most impressive sculpts in terms of translating to print. I had printed a few of your 2014 bearded devils and the improvement is crazy. I really like the pose of these guys a lot more and how easily the tentacles printed. I wasn’t even super careful taking off supports and they came out nearly perfect. https://imgur.com/a/I1FXLQl
