Here's a look at how she's coming along -- an initial concept sketch, a refinement with more energy, and the finished line art ready for coloring. This has been a backburner piece while I work on other projects, but (very happily) it'll be done while we're still in Krystal Appreciation Month.

What a great month to draw her!

This is looking great! Can't wait to see it when it's done! :D

I love the subtle changes made from the first iteration to the second for a better silhouette.

I've heard it said that the first idea is usually the best idea... I think that only sometimes works in illustration, so usually I sketch out a pose a few times before settling on one.

The timing finally worked ou!. Kinda sad to be sitting on the sidelines every time KRAM comes around.

As someone who learned a LOT about myself by finding Krystal art, this piece is already something special.

Wonderful work!

I have usually heard the opposite or simply to not try to force the first idea, if the first idea isn't working, move on instead of falling into the sunk cost fallacy. Better to restart earlier than waste time and restart later.

There she is 🙂. Cool to see some steps in your process 👍

you never fail to amaze

Kalahari

She absolutely primed me for when I discovered furry proper. She was about as mature a design for a fox girl as I'd ever seen up until that point.
