TODAYS CHALLENGE:
Time on stage Comb: 6:13:58 with the Subaru Impreza WRC 2.0
(During my testing I somehow accidentally stumbled into a run without crashing, which you will find attached to this post)

DOWNLOAD UPDATE v0.6.3

Slow start. Coming from my modding position, I'm convinced that Brantega is the worst stage in the entire RBR stage catalogue: shadow issues, lighting issues, particle issues, dry/damp/wet confusion, texture issues, this one has it all. And on top of that it has some shady corner cutting settings...
There are several tricks I tend to use to navigate through some of the issues a stage might come with. For this one I had to use them all and I still ran out of ideas at some point.

On the flip side, I also managed to work on Comb which is awesome! It also has some lighting issues (particles are not getting darkened in the shadowy areas) but overall this one is outstanding. Find a full run on Comb at the top of this post.
(We don't talk about Brantega...)

Changelog v0.6.3:
WEATHER AND PARTICLES FOR NEW STAGES:
- 609-Brantega-2010
- 609-Brantega-2010-R
- 621-Comb-I

UPCOMING v0.6.4:
- 629-Ruapuke
- 630-Whaanga Coast Sprint
- 631-Bignone Shakedown

To update: Download and extract to merge its Maps folder with your existing one in your RBR root folder. This will apply the update. No further action is needed.
New to EVO: Download and install the full mod from here.

Thanks, does 0.6.3 also include 0.6.2? Or do both need to be installed separately?

Carlo

you need to install both separately

Mike

Thanks!

Yes, what Carlo said: the way it works with these "sub-updates" you need to download them separately. They are a sort of first particle and weather draft, a sort of "early access" to a work in progress. Once I have these preliminary particles and weathers done for all new stages they get a proper look at, a lot of issues and bugs are being squashed and then they all are getting re-released in reworked and optimized versions as a bundle, as part of the v0.7 update (which usually comes with other new functions and features. This time I'm planning on adding the expanded surface sounds to the v0.7 update)

Mike

Understood, thanks for the clarification. Great work!
