Happy Friday and Happy Pride, magical & heroic beauties!! We are officially LESS than two weeks until Dishonestly Yours releases. Are you pumped? We're pumped! The process for this one has been so incredibly different than any of our other books. 1.) We finished writing it over a year and a half ago (if our math checks out lol!). 2.) We've already finished Book 2 before Book 1 has even released. 3.) We still have so many secrets about this series like...Book 2's title! (Well, some of you already know because Becca let is slip on a podcast 😉) But it does feel like we have to secret-keep a lot more with this series than usual since it's traditionally published.

BIG REMINDER: The preorder campaign ends Tuesday, June 25th. If you would like a signed and personalized paperback of Dishonestly Yours AND character art, you can preorder from the Ripped Bodice.

This is the only way to get a personalized copy without seeing us in person. We won't be selling personalized paperbacks on our website.

For all those waiting on their signed copies of Nobody Like Us, they have ALL been signed and all the character notes have been written. We've started shipping the last batches of these orders out 🎉

📍 ICYMI: IMPORTANT NEWS

Once we sell out of our current inventory, we will be transitioning the store from signed books to signed bookplates.

What does that mean? The signatures won't be inside the book but your book will automatically come with a bookplate with both of our signatures.

Why the change? We no longer live together, so it's more difficult to carve out time away from writing to drive up to sign books. Bookplates are our solution, since we can ship them to each other.

If you REALLY need to finish your collection with signed books, NOW is the time to order them. Once a book sells out, the next time it's for sale on the store it will be signed via bookplate. (There will be an indicator when you're ordering a book signed via bookplate. As of right now, all signatures are inside the book.)

Hey girls, happy Sunday! 🌞 Very excited to be chatting once again and talking about all things. In response to the latest blog post question, I have pre-ordered Dishonestly Yours via Amazon, and I got it in paperback. Ideally, I would have wanted to get it signed and (character notes?), but I think I’ll just save that for when you guys next have a physical hangout or signing session here in Europe 🤭. RE ACOLYTE To answer some of the other comments and topics we've been kiki-ing on the past few days, you are so REAL for avoiding Acolyte. Oh my goodness, it is not all that. It’s actually super dumb. Watching it is hilarious, I’m not gonna lie 😂. It’s so funny, and you are so right for avoiding it. I think at this point, the state of Star Wars is such that you can pick and choose what you want to be canon or not, kind of like how it is with comics. If you don’t like something, you can just make it out of sight, out of mind, and avoid it (this works more for Marvel; DC is a bit harder because DC is a whole other can of worms that we could talk about if you want). But yeah, Star Wars as a franchise and the whole situation are kind of crazy. It’s also wild how they spent $180 million on eight episodes—that’s the budget of House of the Dragon, and this is the result? 🤯 The problem isn’t just the lack of originality and the recycling of the same old tropes like twins and all that, but also the bad writing, especially of women. If you want to make a show that frontlines diversity, write them well! Why are they always written badly? It’s such a disservice to what they’re actually trying to achieve. So yeah, if you want a little giggle and not take it too seriously, I definitely recommend it. But if you’re super duper serious about not wanting your source material ruined, steer clear…🤯 RE STAR WARS LEGENDS COMICS You guys love Star Wars so much and that is so INFECTIOUS ❤️‍🔥. I started the comics you kindly guided me through, but I got distracted—I don’t remember by what…ANYWAY, you guys are really making me want to get back into Star Wars legends comics. I'd love to know if you can indulge me—why specifically has Legends got you so hooked? It’s been almost two years now that you, Becca, have exclusively been reading Star Wars Legends comics. That’s some KUDO points for them! So, I’d love to know what era you’re in now because last time you told me you were in the Old Republic series era? Let me know! Like as an X-Men reader, what is it about Star Wars Legends that you love so much? What tropes do you see that draw you in? If you had to give an elevator pitch, what would it be? The beginning was a little hard for me to get into, so I’d love to chat about what’s got you so pulled in. RE X-MEN COMICS So as I've said many times before, good on you for pausing X-Men comics because the state of it is kind of awful, especially with this new editor coming in. 😬 It's sad that the comics can't really showcase the things I love about X-Men and instead ride the coattails of the animated show and MCU inclusion. I wonder if this is going to be a déjà vu moment like when Tom Brevoort joined Avengers during Endgame and completely sank expectations for the comics. I hope it’s not that all over again because, my goodness, can we please have a bit of diversity instead of the same old white cis hetero men in charge of Marvel Comics? Honestly. But anyway, I’m getting too salty 😂. I’m very curious about the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. Who do you think is the most excited for Deadpool and Wolverine? Like, who in our group is super duper hyped for that? It’s so high on my anticipation list as well. RE PODCASTS LIKE US CHARACTERS LISTEN TO Another thing I wanted to ask is about podcasts. Did you guys ever think about what podcasts the Like Us characters would be into? I was thinking about this the other day as I was listening to my faves. From the cell phone snooping extras, we know that big podcast fans include Xander. I can also picture Sulli being into podcasts for the reality shows and challenge videos she tunes in for. I’d love to know what kind of podcasts Xander or Lo would be into. IDK why too but i feel like Donnelly might be into podcasts too? Would Lo be into comic book podcast discussions? Would he enjoy podcasts that debrief character/xmen lore and talk about X-Men news? As well as Xander? Or would they both prefer podcasts that discuss the weekly comic issues and influencer opinions on them? Or maybe Jane would be into news commentaries ones or Banks and Thatcher may be into sports commentary podcasts? One of my favorite podcasts is the TabCaf Transmissions podcast, which is like a Star Wars Legends novel book club with two influencers talking about Star Wars content. I could see Luna being into that, but at the same time, I feel like echo chambers and being part of Reddit threads might make her wary. It’s that concept where talking too much about something can take the shine away from the content because it suspends your disbelief. Or what about the Meadows, Ben and Moffy? When they go on their hikes, alone or in the company of someone, are they just listening to music, podcasts or remaining present and just with nature? I’d love to know what you guys think about how the Like Us characters consume content in podcast form. Sorry for the long musing! 😅 DC COMICS Super exciting that you, Becca, are still keen on maybe getting into Flash or Superman comics. I'd love to know why and what interests you about them 😇. I don't believe I've sent a Superman reading order 🤔, but if you want, I can because I do have one 🫡. I remember the Flash one I sent you, and honestly, no changes a year later because the current run for Flash is so bad. So, so bad, Becca. I'm not reading it because it’s awful 😱. Anyway, no spoilers, so I won't talk about that 🤗. Superman is very cute and wholesome 🎉☀️. If you were to decide which one to start with, you could read them both in parallel, but if you want to focus on one, I’d recommend Flash 🤔. Flash is a hidden gem—very interesting and brainy. The reading order I sent you, starting with Rebirth and the Life of Barry Allen trade paperback, is a great intro (let me know if u want me to resend!). Barry is just very different and we don't have enough characters like him in media☀️. I've often said Barry Allen has a lot of traits similar to Ben—quietly passionate yet persuasive, economical about his emotions in a tactful way, most of the time, with occasional bursts of intense passion. These traits are so underrated and special. I've been dodging spoilers because I’m waiting to read Nobody Like Us in paperback form, signed, which is still in the mail 😱. I know there are surprises involving Ben in the last novel, and I’m super excited because he’s the character i find the most compelling to me personally, maybe due to his similarities to Barry Allen. RE MEAL PREP Lastly, I never really thought about using a meal delivery service for food. That's a great pro tip! What do you guys do for lunch and breakfast with Blue Apron or Sun Basket? Do you just have the same lunch every day, or do they also send lunches and breakfasts? How long have you been doing this? I saw other variants like HelloFresh online. What made you choose Blue Apron or Sun Basket? And do you cook for your partner with these services? Did you sell him on the cuisines, or was he already into it? This is such a super hack because I get home at 8 PM every night and struggle with what to eat. Lots of love and kisses! 😘 I hope you guys have a wonderful week. I’m so excited about the hay fever bonus chapter with Maximoff. I can’t read it because it’s a Nobody Like Us spoiler, but I know it’s going to be my favorite. PS. I completely forgot to mention that ever since you guys said the animal stuff gets better in *Yellowstone*, I decided to give it a second chance and holy moly, I do not regret it. It is so good, Becca!!!! Thank you for recommending it and telling me to give it another shot because it is so worth it. 🌟 And you know what? This show feels so *Like Us* coded! The rancher life, the found family, and the complicated politics between different families on other ranches—it all reminds me so much of the *Like Us* series. Especially with where the plot is heading in *Cobalt Empire*, it’s totally *Like Us* coded, and I love that. 🤠 I know you guys have your hands full with the new book coming out in July, but oh my goodness, we all want to see Thatcher and Moffy on horseback as a cowboy?? Can you imagine Farrow and Donnelly with cowboy hats? And Ryke being in control of Ranch, Rose and Connor in charge of the finances and Lo in charge of the produce? It would work so well! 🐴 Maybe there IS something we can do cuz the Famous ones DO have the lake house! So there IS RANCHER potential no? That’s a way in?? 🤭 I love dreaming about this in my spare time because it’s just so perfect. Petition for this to happen, please, please, please! 🙏🤭🤪🤠

Hey ladies I am rewatching One tree hill which I havent done in like 10 years and iam on season 1 watching the scene where Brooke is trying to make it up to Haley and Nathan with a date involvolving the set up with the cards at different places around town telling each other things about the other and ordering theyre favorite meals for the other person etc , it was so cute !! It just made me think it would be such a cute way for a potential couple to get to know each other in a book. ❤️ Don't know if you remember those scenes but I was obsessed with One tree hill when it came out and completely forgotten about that episode. Going to continue my binge now 😄

Question for you guys: Is there a way to get a character note sticker for Nobody Like Us? I accidentally misread the instructions and thought that you get the character notes as long as you select “signed” instead of “signatures only” and I don’t have the money (or shelf space lol) to just buy another signed hardcover for nlu and I really wanted to see what you guys would write for them :(

Krista here! OMG I did not know Acolyte’s budget was $180 million. That’s kind of sad. Where did all the money go? It looks like it was all filmed on a Hollywood set and not in a good way. It is kind of sad that Star Wars doesn’t have a real direction, but neither does Marvel anymore. It’s going to be an interesting next few years to see where everything goes. RE STAR WARS LEGENDS COMICS Becca will have to update you on her Star Wars Legend comics progress. She raves about them to me all the time though! RE X-MEN COMICS I feel good that I’m not missing anything by being behind then! I really do want to catch up, but it’s difficult when I know I’m going to have to trudge through some “misses.” I’m also curious about the Deadpool and Wolverine movie! Trying to keep expectations low though. Lily and Lo would be most excited by far, and as a result their kids would be too. Although…in 2024, Moffy is only 9…so he might not be allowed to go see this R-rated flick yet haha 😂 RE PODCASTS LIKE US CHARACTERS LISTEN TO Xander and Lo probably listen to the same recap podcasts. Like recaps for episodes of House of Dragons (or whatever is the best fantasy show in the future). Lo might be less into comic book discussion podcasts because he doesn’t care much about what other people think of the comics he likes. He doesn’t want to hear anyone shitting on his favs lol! Oooh definitely could see Banks and Thatcher listening to some football podcasts. RE MEAL PREP I think Becca does some lunches with Blue Apron. I tend to just make a quick salad or eat some fruit for lunch so I don’t use a meal prep for it. For Blue Apron, I think every week they have a different selection of lunches and breakfasts to pick from. Sunbasket isn’t as good for lunch/breakfast options. Yes, we both cook for our SO’s! The recipes are 2-servings so they’re made for 2 people. Or if you’re just cooking for yourself, you can split it and have leftovers. Both our SO’s didn’t do meal services before they met us, but they both don’t cook so they don’t complain haha! My fiancé picks our two meals each week and I pick out two ( we do 4 a week), so we both get to have a choice in what we eat for dinner every week. Blue Apron is REALLY good for quick meals. They have some oven-ready kits that take like five minutes to prepare and are so good! Love you lots, Laura! I’ll let Becca know to come back and answer your Star Wars/DC questions ❤️
