We're incredibly thankful for all of you this year. Patreon has always been our happy place, but even more so with the close of the Like Us series in January. It's scary to end an era. We were anxious messes after the Addicted Series ended and when it felt like not as many readers transitioned over into the Like Us series as we thought they would. So ending the Like Us series has brought on the same doubt monsters, but the big difference now is that we have all of you. It really means so much to see you all here and excited for more to come in this great, big Hales/Meadows/Cobalts world. So thankyouthankyouthankyou.

You ladies would choose a bunch a lines from your books and the other sister would have to guess who said it and vice versa. It might be more fun to do the Addicted series since the Like us series might still be to fresh in your minds. You can even add Circus is Family series.

As a HUGE fan of that series, it hit me hard, and I needed some time to recover. 🥺 But here I am, pitter-pattering my way back to you lovely people wanting to still engage of course ❤️ I truly hope the thanksgiving season has been joyful and healing for you. 🦃✨ Especially with all the big things happening in the States (yes, we’re all watching from afar 👀), I’m sending you lots of love and strength. 💌🌍 To answer the question about who I’d want to be a real person: Xander! 🙌 He’d be the ultimate buddy to geek out with about the latest Stormlight Archive release coming this December. 📖✨ Plus, imagine having someone to discuss Malazan and nerd out over X-Men with?! 💥🦸‍♂️ He feels like the perfect nexus of these fandoms, and honestly, I’d love that. But what about you guys? Which character would you love to see as a real person—and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🤔💭 Speaking of endings, it’s bittersweet to think about moving forward without the Like Us series. 😢 The Hales and their world have been such a comfort for me. I finally got a new TV, thanks to your Black Friday pro tips! 🛍️📺 I ended up with a 43” Samsung OLED, and I’m OBSESSED. It’s completely elevated my viewing experience—everything looks incredible now. 😍 I was debating between 43” and 50”, but I opted for 43” because I’m moving again next year, and I didn’t want the TV to feel overwhelming in a smaller space. What about you? Which TVs did you guys end up getting? And how big did you go? I’d love to know if I made the right call! 😅✨ Next up on my watchlist: Deadboy Detectives! 🧛‍♂️ I need to figure out how to stream it in the UK, but I’m so excited to dive in. And yes, I’ll also be enjoying my Housewives screaming in glorious 4K. 🤣✨ Books-wise, I’ve paused Unlucky Like Us because, let’s be real, I’m delusional. 😅 If I don’t finish it, the era isn’t really over, right?! It’s my way of holding onto Moffy, Farrow, Thatcher, Luna, and Donnelly for a little longer. ❤️ Comics-wise, I’ve been deep into DC lately—Batman, Wonder Woman, and Nightwing are dominating my reading time. 🦇👑💥 If anyone’s looking to get into comics, hit me up! I’ve got tons of ideas and can help with reading guides. DC is so vibrant right now, and it’s such a great time to jump in. Marvel, on the other hand, has been rough. 😕 Disney’s mandates are holding it back, and the lack of fan consideration is frustrating—especially with the X-Men. 🧬💔 I haven’t read much Marvel lately because, honestly, it’s been a little depressing. It’s tough as a fan when creators seem disconnected from what we love about these characters. There’s an interesting parallel I’ve been discussing with a friend: in comics, creators inherit characters from decades of stories, which means they carry the baton for a while and then pass it on. ⚡ In contrast, book writers have full agency over their characters and can shape their destinies entirely. Comic book writers are more like football players 🏈—they come and go, representing the team (or brand), but they’re not the ones who define its legacy or culture. The fans are the true lifeblood, shaping the team’s identity and future. In comics, the same applies: fans ultimately determine the characters’ lasting power through their engagement, passion, and support. The disconnect comes when creators or publishers ignore the fans, which is what’s happening with Marvel right now. It’s frustrating, especially when you have two choices: go to war with the creators online (which helps no one) or step away and let others enjoy what’s there. Sometimes the best option is letting the numbers speak for themselves. 💭💔 All in all, it’s a fascinating time for both fandoms and creative industries. I’m loving seeing your updates and “what’s happening” posts. 💌 Lots of love, Laura xx

I would like to meet a real life Farrow. He is someone I can see myself getting along with, maybe even Oscar. I had a question on the timeline for BB and Frog/Quinn book. I know Frog/Quinn book is meant to be read as a standalone but I wanted to know how the timeline works if they're books start before BB but we won't be receiving there book until after BB releases assuming we get BB in 2025 . Frog/Quinn story won't be finished on patreon within a year ( unless its a short story or novella) . I hope my question made sense 😅.

If we have time, we might be finishing Frog/Quinn completely before BB releases (and in that case, there'd be some months where more than 2 chapters are posted). It's really going to depend on how much time we have to dedicate to it, but that's one of our ideas! But narratively, Frog & Quinn's story does take place in the timeline before Burn Bright begins.

Sending so much love to you, Laura! And we totally understand about the disappointment regarding PLU. It was one of the toughest choices to make for us. Ahh loveee that you found the perfect fit for you law-wise!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! And we're can't wait for you to THRIVE there!! I think I'd love for Farrow & Maximoff to be real so they can fall in love in real life and live their most beautiful soul mate lives together. It's the sentimental romantic in me! And that's probably cheating that I picked two people so this could happen lol 😂 ~B I love OLED's!! They're SO PRETTY! When we got ours on Black Friday either last year or the year back, we got a semi-big one (I can't remember the exact size) Sony OLED and then a very big one Samsung QLED. They ended up being the same price, so when we split apart, we knew one of us would take one, then the other would take the other one. I love the Sony interface a ton (I think it's Google), but the Samsung is so nice too and I miss that TV (Krista has it). Krista & I were just talking about the state of Marvel comics and how it's been in a strange place, especially with the reboot for X-Men. I'm a bit excited to see Hellion come back (but also nervous of how he's treated!) and you're so right about the writers of comics vs writers of novels. The passing the baton in comics tends to make the characters so wildly unpredictable and inconsistent that it's hard to want to keep reading at times. I do LOVE Agatha All Along, and I'm trying to stay optimistic about the future of the MCU, given that was the last amazing thing they've had in a long, long time. And it's the season of me rewatching Hawkeye and Guardians Christmas Special! For DC, I'm waiting for Superman & Lois to stream on Max. The final season just concluded, and I didn't record it on cable, so I have to wait for it to go to streaming, but I'm super excited to see how it ties up. That's been my favorite Superman property ever. Even over Smallville, which is nuts to me bc I am a big Smallville junkie! I have all 10 seasons in boxed set proudly displayed on my bookshelf. *all the hugs* xoxo B
