WIP Snippet: Burn Bright (Patreon)

This is a new feature here on Patreon where we drop a little snippet of what we're currently writing. We usually don't do this because it's always a little scary sharing something that isn't formally finished. But we know some of you like the whole "behind the scenes" part of writing, so we thought this would be a fun new feature.

Despite feeling like I’m the black sheep among lions, I love so much about my family. I love that it’s not easy to gain access to all of us when there are people in the world with cruel intentions. I know they exist—even if Charlie will claim I’m so naïve to the atrocities of others.

I see it.

I see it overwhelmingly. I see that trust is too valuable a commodity.
