All About Oscar Oliveira & Charlie Cobalt's Bodyguard-Client Relationship

April's poll has ended, and the results are in! It was a closer race this month, and we're so pumped to be diving deeper into Oscar & Charlie's bodyguard-client relationship for the April pod! This feels like one of those "always the bridesmaid, never the bride" topics that has been suggested for years. We're so happy it's finally been chosen! Plus, their dynamic is something that's shown in Burn Bright, so this is perfect leading up to the Cobalt Empire series!

without spoiling, could you please talk about oscar’s pov when he saw charlie staring at roxanne at the ballet in CLU? and also without spoiling if possible, would you say it's similar to donnelly noticing xander looking at pink braids girl in ULU? I’m curious since we had donnelly’s pov for that scene but not oscar’s for the CLU one. the scenes themselves seem similar to me (where the bodyguard is focused on their client watching somebody) but I don’t know if that was done on purpose or if there even are any similarities (or differences) between them. I’ve always wondered about oscar’s thoughts especially during that scene since I don't think we got it. for context: “The audience lets out a collective gasp. Oscar is hawk-eyed more on Charlie, and I realize he’s dropped the legs of his chair he’d been leaning back on. He’s bowed forward.” jack pov ch. 43, CLU. “I can almost see Xander watching her—can’t see his expression behind the mask—but he’s faced in her direction for a long beat.” donnelly pov ch. 44, ULU.

The bonus scene Charlie and the secret threat contains one of my all time fav CharlieOscar interactions when Charlie asks Oscar what he thinks his taste in women is (btw Oscar answering with vampiric lives rent free in my head). Ik you guys have been really adamant in the past to say that characters don’t have a specific “type” in partners (partly due to the fact that readers could then hyper focus on a specific trait for someone’s li that could be overall irrelevant etc.) but since Roxanne is a confirmed li would you guys be able to kinda tease what type of person Oscar does envision for Charlie? This can be anything from looks, to personality, to quirks, etc.

oh I love this so much. So I spied a tulip pin on charlie’s pinterest board and it brought me back to the mention in CLU on the one momentOscar was scared for charlie’s safety in Amsterdam. I was wondering if you could talk about that situation in more detail and how it might have shaped their relationship. Did it give Oscar more insight into Charlie’s mind, did it scare him, did it make him feel like he had failed at his role of protecting his client?

For sure!! We saw how he had a soft spot for Akara and was on his side during the royal leaks while Omega was against triple shield. Also, something I've always wanted to see was Connor and rose with Sulli, Banks and Akara. I remember Sulli saying that Rose and Connor were all for the triad and didn't see a problem with it. I would have loved to get a scene where they had shown their support during that time where Sulli felt like everyone judged her. Maybe a bonus some day 🤞🏻

This is slightly off topic but I wanted to know more about the Oliveira family. In the first day as Charlie bodyguard bonus it was mentioned that Oscars uncle was a boxer, I haven't reread charming like us in a few years but was this uncle ever mentioned before and how many members of Oscar's family are fighters ? Does he have cousins aswell? I think in the earlier books it was mentioned he comes from a boxing family but I assumed that was just because his father was a boxer and so were his siblings.
