Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Addictedverse, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

In celebration of Destructively Mine releasing on Tuesday and the inspo coming from our nostalgic love of WB & CW shows (Everwood, Gilmore Girls, The Vampire Diaries, etc.), plus the film Mystic Pizza, do you have any TV shows or movies that bring you warm fuzzies and you love to rewatch?

Gilmore Girls and Psych are my two big shows I rewatch constantly!!

Hayat

You couldn’t pry teen wolf from my cold dead body like I see that show more than I see some family members

brenna

friends is my go to rewatch show!! I also love law and order: svu and greys anatomy. also was a huge carrie diaries girlie in high school!!! but for movies, i love to rewatch the first two harry potter films, multiverse of madness, and zootopia haha. but ive also been watching star wars for the first time, and i just know it will be a comfort rewatch series for me!

brenna

also a quick disclaimer, i don’t support JK Rowling or condone any of her behavior so please don’t come at me for still loving the movies lol. i try to not give her my money when engaging with hp content lol

Abby (Eliot’s version)

Im soooo excited for the tour and for DM to FINALLY be out in the world for all to fall in love with!! It truly is one of my favorites of yours and I can see why you’re so proud of it!! Can’t wait to see all the pictures and hear about the tour from those who can attend - wish I could be there for you guys but I will be in spirit as you celebrate the release 🌸🖤 As for the question, I often rewatch Supernatural, OTH, Charmed, ER, Friends, Buffy, early NCIS, early Lost, early VPD, and random seasons of the various Arrowverse shows. For movies, my go-to whenever I was sick growing up were Jurassic Park (the original), Twister, Home Alone, Hocus Pocus, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Goonies - and I still love and rewatch them all 😍 I’ve also rewatched HP too many times to count (until recently with JK’s comments that I don’t support or condone or believe which stopped my constant rewatches)… and the extended versions of LoTR never fail to make me smile and is something I still bring out to watch on the original DVDs so I can watch with the cast commentary and as well as all behind the scenes madness and magic which provides countless hours of entertainment 🥰

Abby (Eliot’s version)

Same girl! I don’t support her comments or beliefs but I grew up with HP as one of the backbones of my life… I know it’s hard to separate the art from the artist but the story is too influential to my child-into-adulthood for me to ignore either! I haven’t rewatched one or supported her for years now, but it doesn’t take away my love for the past content that was not, at the time, tarnished by her own hateful rhetoric

Miranda

Gilmore girls & friends are always my rewatch shows & just background noise. They are my comfort shows

Mary

Gilmore girls for me! And not totally the same but a Harry Potter rewatch happens every halloween

Maxi

I am currently rewatching Supernatural and I LOVE it. Tbh I forgot a lot of the plot since my first watch so it's like seeing it for the first time again.

Gabriela Seguesse

I loved CW tv shows so much!! My favorites were The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Nikita, The Secret Circle, Jane the Virgin

Teresa

I hope you guys have an amazing tour and wish you safe travels. Also, hopefully 🙏 you don't come back sick after a week of traveling 🤣

Arrow

Congratulations on almost release day!!! I’m planning to attend your first tour stop & can’t wait to read Dishonestly Mine! For warm fuzzy TV shows that I re-watch, my biggest are Schitt’s Creek, Modern Family, The L Word, Big Love, Sex and the City, Trueblood, and Station Eleven. I also re-watch all of the Mike Flanagan horror shows on Netflix around Halloween. I was a bit of an oddball teen - I spent my time watching HBO instead of CW shows (my sister loved these though, so I have seen them all). For movies, I have a large number of comfort re-watches. A bunch of these match Abby’s - Jurassic Park, The Goonies, Hocus Pocus. I also love to re-watch the original Star Wars films and a large number of random horror films - The Shinning, Midsommar, The Sentinel (the 1970s film), The Conjuring films, and 28 days later. Also, a large number of 90s/early 2000s romcoms. Especially those that star Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, and Jennifer López. I’m also a massive re-watcher of disaster films like Volcano, Dante’s Peak, The Day After Tomorrow, Poseidon Adventure (the original film), San Andreas, and Greenland (this is probably why I like the show 9-1-1 so much). And then I have a whole series of holiday watches too. As you can tell, I am big into re-watching media. This is likely why I re-read books so much too (especially the Like Us series!)

Angelina (Charlies version) ♟️

Brooklyn 99 is my warm fuzzies show I've watched it like 3 times all the way through and some episodes repeatedly 🥰🥰

Abby (Eliot’s version)

It’s never a bad time to watch Sam and Dean kick some supernatural ass 😍

Abby (Eliot’s version)

I love that you love those movies too!! Late 80s/90s movies never disappoint! Throw in some brat pack movies too and I’m golden lol I’ve watched every Julia movie dozens of time - Pretty Woman was actually my first R rated movie when I was too young to be watching it but my mom swore me to secrecy 🫣😂 I also love those disaster movies, and strangely, I like large scary animal movies like Deep Blue Sea, the Meg, or Lake Placid… for some reason I’ll watch those whenever they’re randomly on tv 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Arrow

Deep Blue Sea, the Meg, and Lake Placid are huge favorites of mine too!!!

Teresa

I rewatch Charmed, The Vampire Diaries , Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer the most, but I occasionally rewatch certain episodes of The Last Kingdom, Teen wolf, One tree hill, The O.C, make it or break it, Arrow ( love ❤️ olicity) . I didn't actually watch dawsons creek until highschool which was 8 years ago and loved it despite a couple issues and rewatch season 3 and 4 the most. I am currently rewatching the tvshow Vikings ❤️

Morgan and Maria

Merlin! This kind of seems like a Xander show actually? Unrelated question but will we ever see a bonus scene of Thatcher or Jane during Nobody Like Us after he failed his psych evaluation? Very much in my thatcher era 😔

shi luvs st.cobalt

I love this week’s question! :) I wasn’t a huge TV + movie person growing up (even now I more so gravitate towards reality shows), **but** I did watch all of the modern classics while growing up lol (TVD, Teen Wolf, etc.)! I never ended up finishing either of them, though (🙂‍↕️). I stopped keeping up with TVD once Nina left & I stopped watching Teen Wolf around the time that 6B started airing (if I’m not mistaken). I’ve also made it my mission to avoid the Teen Wolf movie like it’s the plague (😅). No hate to anyone that enjoyed it (!) I’d just like to keep pretending that Stiles + Lydia are married and frolicking around in a field of flowers somewhere (and I refuse to allow the movie to pop that bubble). I also wasn’t a fan of how Arden was treated throughout that whole process. :( —— If I had to choose a nostalgic show, “Skam” would definitely be a top contender! I remember watching the original series through random Google Drives (because that was the only place that had English translations available at the time), so seeing how far that franchise has come has been insane! :’) Even now, after all these years, a new remake is airing titled “Sram” & taking place in Croatia. I started watching the series when I was 15/16 and I’m still keeping up with it in my 20s. I love revisiting it! I also adore Gordon Ramsay (he’s genuinely one of my favorite humans), so rewatching old “Kitchen Nightmares” episodes always manages to pick me up when I’m feeling down. The “La Galleria 33” episodes are my favorites to rewatch! —— When it comes to movies, “She’s The Man” will always be my #1 (⚽️)! I’ll never get tired of that one! I’ll also never turn down “A Cinderella Story” rewatch! “Hear You Me” has never left my music rotation since I watched that movie as a child (lol). (Side Note: I need movies with pop punk songs in their soundtracks to make a return ASAP.) —— Since I’m writing this comment on the 29th I also want to wish you the happiest of release days (🥳)! I hope you have an incredible time on tour! Sending all of the hugs + love your way! 🤎🤎 ~~

Ooh, such a great question! I’d love to hear what shows inspire you both most, do you rewatch things like Vampire Diaries, Gilmore Girls, Teen Wolf, and all that? And what are some of your CW comfort watches? I’m especially curious about the newer ones like Superman & Lois or All American. Also, and I say this with a ton of curiosity, I would be obsessed to know which CW shows you think the characters would be hooked on. Like, who would be a Vampire Diaries girlie? Would anyone secretly binge Nancy Drew or Supernatural? Unfortunately, I didn’t grow up with CW shows, because access in mainland Europe is so limited. The only one that really broke through here was Vampire Diaries, which was iconic, but there’s so much more I know I’ve missed. I’d love to dive into shows like Teen Wolf, One Tree Hill, or even reality series like Big Brother or Survivor. But we can’t get CW, CBS, or Peacock here unless we go… the pirate way (which I can’t do, sadly, ethics and my profession just don’t mix well with that). It’s frustrating when something is so innocuous, but you still have to forgo it because of regional licensing. That’s why I think it means so much when you say a character would love something, because if they love it, I want to understand it too. That’s actually how I got into comics in the first place. If someone like lily or Luna connects to a hobby or story, I trust it. I want to get into the brains of these characters that feel so real, like friends I’ve known for years. And honestly, that’s a huge part of why I’ve always connected most with the Hales, the Meadows, and even the Addicted core cast. They have these real-world, breathing hobbies, like climbing, running, reality TV obsessions, and they feel so tangible, so alive. Even though they’re billionaires, that childlike wonder and groundedness still exists in them, and it’s something I really crave in fiction. That might be why I’ve never connected as much with the Kobalts. I respect them and find them fascinating, especially the Shakespeare, high-art lens, but for me, that kind of passion feels more removed, less rooted in everyday, accessible joy. It’s not that it’s less meaningful, just more elusive to someone like me who seeks out warmth, mess, wonder, and immediacy in characters. That being said… Ben is my favorite Cobalt, and I think it’s because he’s the most engaged with the world outside of himself. Politics, climate change, social movements, he makes me feel like he’s part of the world we live in. I love that. And I’m so curious to see how that will influence his role in the upcoming Cobalt series. I’m still really excited to read it, especially because I’ve been on this journey with you guys since 2017, and I’ve seen how the characters evolve, grow, surprise us. One last little tangent, if you haven’t yet, you really need to read the All Souls series. It’s got a very Cobalt-like tone, high academia, long-form contemplation, religion, conflict, love, but it’s also surprisingly digestible, warm, and personal. It tackles dark topics with care and intelligence. And the show didn’t quite do it justice, so the books are where the magic really lives. Book six is coming soon and I am so excited. Anyway, books have always been my gateway to understanding what I missed on TV growing up, and your characters have made me curious about so much. So thank you for continuing to inspire and expand our worlds. Sending love always, Laura

There is one that exists in Thatcher's POV about him failing the psych eval, and we did actually start to write the aftermath of that in Jane's POV, I believe. We might go back to it one day!! Especially since it's during the NLU timeline and we're still actively writing bonuses in this area

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Loveeee Station Eleven!! I still get emotional and in awe just thinking about that whole entire show ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

I did end up coming back sick 😆 We'll probably talk about it on the podcast, but I swear, I can't venture into the world without getting sick! All the hand-sanitizing in the world doesn't help me lol, but thankfully I'm better now 🥰 ~ B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Oooohhhh I remember SKAM!!! It was like the new Skins (that's what it felt like at least!) We grew up watching Skins, but Skam came after it some years later and it totally reminded us of it. Great show!!

Morgan and Maria

Omg okay thank you for replying, I must’ve missed it😔currently rereading everything in chronological order so will track it down soon enough! Thatcher goes through so much it actually hurts my feelings😭😭
