Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Addictedverse, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

In spirit of the new Character Board reveal, which Pinterest Board is your all-time favorite on our Pinterest?

 Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! Summer is growing closer and closer, and the heat (and humidity!) is sadly ramping up in Georgia. We miss the delightful spring weather already. We're in the midst of finishing big edits on the final book in the Webs We Weave series, and we've also been working on Frog & Quinn chapters, so we're hoping to get those to you soon. If you miss Luna & Donnelly, these next chapters feature them! We've also been finalizing some fun things planned to celebrate the release of Burn Bright 🥳 We'll have more news on that later in the month!

In case you missed it from last week, we mentioned that Burn Bright is 688 pages. Over 200,000 words, making it our second largest book right behind Nobody Like Us. (Yes, Burn Bright is bigger than Some Kind of Perfect 💙)

We love this chunky baby. I can't even express how many times I've reread it (an embarrassing number -- Krista is always like, "You're rereading it again?" Especially when I have so much on my tbr, but I can't help it! I love Ben & Harriet and the Cobalt fam and all the moments, and I think a good majority of you will too).

This week, we've had some fun things drop on Patreon, including another Happenings! So here's everything that went down:

Announcement: New Pinterest Character Board for the Cobalt Empire Series 💙✨

First Look: New Teaser for Burn Bright

Extra: The Happenings with Krista & Becca 💕💛

All of your “new” character boards are incredible like Rurik Harriet and Phoenix are eating the girlies up

brianna

Will we be getting POVs for characters other than Frog or Quinn soon? I love them and their story but it would be cool to be in other characters like Lily’s POV again

Bea (never.stopreading)

Becca I feel you! If I had Burn bright in my hands I would be reading and rereading and rereading and rereading it again! I CAN'T WAIT!! 💙 P.S. I love all your pinterest boards. I spend an embarassing number of hours stalking your updates lol

Lucia

Hi girls! If I remember correctly you both are tennis fans, so I was just wondering if you watched the Roland Garros final last Sunday. As a fellow Spaniard I was cheering hard for Carlos Alcaraz and had my heart pounding out of my chest hahaha. I hope you got to watch it, it was insaneee. Oh and my fav Pinterest board has to be Rose's 🥰

Yasti

I love all of your Pinterest boards, the vibes are so good and I always look forward to updates - thank you for all your work on them!! 🩷 It’s super hard to pick because there’s so many that stand out to me for so many different reasons, but here are my top 5 in order right now: 1. Rose (perfect, 10/10, no notes) 2. Harriet (I’ve said this to you before but it really is the perfect fancast!!) 3. Jake (surprising entry to this list but the old money vibes are so strong and I love it) 4. Eliot (love the drama, the gothic vibes, and the chaos, it’s so very Eliot) 5. Phoenix (recency bias perhaps, but what can I say, I did NOT expect this board to be as good as it is but it is fabulous 🙂‍↕️🔥) Honorary mentions: Sulli, Leo, Jane, and Tom!!

Cam

could be recency bias but i'm obsessed with phoenix's board i keep going back to look at it. and luna, kinney and lily have some of my favorite aesthetics so i'm always drawn to theirs too. love my hale girls 🙂‍↕️🧸.

mayyve

Or Lo's pov 🥺🤍

AJ

Eliot will always be my favorite everything 💙, but I think the Phoenix board was sooo good! And a very unexpected surprise. Can you comment on if there may be anymore boards revealed before BB? 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Natalie 👽🤍

Oh man gosh I love them all so much but Eliot has an amazing board! Cannot wait for his books and to see more of him in Cobalt empire 💙💙💙

Teresa

Beckett, Roxanne and Harriet's are my all time favorites 😍

Omg, a Pinterest question this week! ~~ I love all of your boards! I cannot thank you enough for sharing them with us! I’m so appreciative of the time + energy that you put into them. You’re the true Queens of Pinterest! :’) I’m **obsessed** with Phoenix’s board (it’s gorgeous)! I think I went back and clicked on each pin **at least** 15 times the day that his board was released (🙈). Is there a pin on his board that you’re particularly fond of? Or one that you feel is really representative of his character? I understand if you don’t feel comfortable answering that yet! There’s no pressure, I promise (🫂). I’m also a big fan of Jane + Banks’ boards! :) ——— It’s starting to warm up where I live as well! I hate it (🥲). I can’t stand heat, I thrive in the cooler months (❄️). I’m so excited for BB! The fact that you’ve re-read it so many times is making me even more giddy! :’) I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Just 81 more days! It’s so close!!!!!!!! 🤎🤎🤎 I’m sending all of the hugs + good vibes your way as you finish up edits and things!

Angelina (Charlies version) ♟️

LETS EFFING GOOOOOO I MISS LUNNELLY SO DAMN MUCH UPCOMING COBALT EMPIRE TWO!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE DIED ANGELINA LAYS HERE CAUSE OF DEATH THE COBALT BROTHERS ARE YOU ACTUALLY JOKING ME?!?! I CANNOT OHHHH MYYYYY GODDDDD AM I DREAMING?!?! SOMEONE PINCH ME AHHHHHHHHH

Abby (Eliot’s version)

All your boards are amazing but I love Maximoff and Farrow’s (any thing them will always be my favorite), but I also adore Eliot’s, Ben’s, Phoenix’s, Luna’s, Rocky’s, and Charlie’s! And you updated the Upcoming Releases 🥹😍💙 book 1 isn’t even out but my anticipation for book 2 is already killing 😭😂 Happy writing ladies!! Can’t wait for everything you have in store for us 💕✨

millie (coballoway's version)

I love all the boards so much but Rose and Connor's are my favourites (but those two will always be my favourites in general 💙) and I love Charlie's too. I've also been very obsessed with Phoenix's, it's made me sooo excited to finally meet him in BB!! and I just saw the new Harriet pin aaaahhhh I need Benriet nowww 😍🦋

Teresa

Hi KBR, when will you be able to announce the release date for Dangerously Ours? Will it be before BB releases or after?

Sara

ME! I’m missing lunnelly (always). I’m not normal about them. I’d honestly read a whole book about them decorating their apartment. I also look forward to any Luna and Frog scenes 💚 Phoenix board reveal was the best surprise of the week. A hot new bombshell has entered the Pinterest villa! Luna is my all time favorite board, but Moffy & Farrow are very close! I’m currently reading Bad Reputation and spending a lot of time scrolling through Willow + Garrison pins. Thank you for even making character boards. I love them all 😭

shi luvs st.cobalt

Omg I’m obsessed with this Love Island X Pinterest crossover (👏)!

Arrow

I cannot choose a favorite board! I keep changing which one it is! Farrow’s has been a favorite for a while. But lately I’ve been gravitating towards Harriet and Tom’s. My favorite this week is Phoenix’s board!

anna

I can't choose just one but if I *had* to narrow it down I'd say Lily, Thora, Moffy and Farrow!

Krista & Becca Ritchie

This is really up to the publisher. We haven't been told the exact date yet, just the month. (There's also a chance it just gets put up on preorder and someone discovers the date before us, which I think happened last time).

Krista & Becca Ritchie

We both LOVE his profile board pic. It was the photo where we both instantly agreed "that's Phoenix" and we based most of his vibe off it. So that'll probably always be the fav because once we found it, his character clicked for both of us. Here's a link to it: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/398568635791997913/ There are also colorized versions of the picture too. We loveeeeeee that you love his board so much! Most especially knowing how much you were already into his character!! BEST FEELINGS 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for all the good vibes and hugs! Sending lots of love back *hugs so very tight* xoxo B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

We can't say yet, but we would say the main boards for BB already exist now. The rest would be extremely minor characters in Cobalt Empire #1, so there's a chance we might wait on revealing them until after BB.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Yes, we're huge tennis fans! We grew up playing competitively, so it was a part of our lives for such a long time. We rarely catch Roland Garros live. I think it's bc of the time difference. But we always watch the US Open and *try* to watch Wimbledon (but again, time difference 😅), but we'll try to watch highlights and keep track of the scores. We love Carlos! But admittedly, if he is playing Djokovic, we will root VERY hard against him 😂 We've loved Novak since he was the underdog between Federer and Nadal, and so to see him dominate and become the ultimate GOAT has been surreal. Now his main opponent really is *time* because he's getting older. We'd love to see him reach a 25th grand slam! But we love watching Carlos play. He reminded me of a blend of Federer and Nadal, but every time I see him, I feel like he's coming more into his own style, which is so cool to see! He is going to be one of the greats one day (he's basically already there with 5 slams!)

Krista & Becca Ritchie

You will once Burn Bright releases, so in September we'll have Harriet & Ben bonus scenes. But for June, July, and August, we're doing chapters for Frog & Quinn unless inspo strikes us like it did for the Fight Night Daisy/Ryke chapters 🩷

Lucia

The time difference is a bit tricky, yeah hahaha. I always root for my fellow Spaniards but Novak is too good to root against, so unless he was or is going against Nadal or Carlos, I'm always hoping he wins some more slams before he retires. That's a legendary career! I'm loving watching Carlos develop too, and Sinner is also looking incredible, it looks like these two are the future rivalry of tennis and that's always exciting to see for the sport :)

Illyana

Hey girls! 💛 Slightly delayed today, as always, but I’m clocking in anyway 😅✨ My favourite Pinterest boards for characters are definitely the ones that made the biggest impression on me, the ones that made me think oh wow, I really didn’t expect that 😲💭 Luna’s was definitely the first, I was gobsmacked by how different she was from what I pictured, and lo and behold, reading her POV was one of the most interesting experiences 📖🌙 She still stands out as one of the most unique characters you’ve ever written, in my opinion 💫 I also remember being really struck by Maximoff’s board 💚 Obviously, we first meet him in Some Kind of Perfect, but seeing his visual vibe before reading Damage Like Us? That was a moment 👏 And of course, Xander’s, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the Hale family culture is so well done 🙌 Each character is so distinct and individual, and that’s what makes them a joy to read 🥺 Hence why I’m physically incapable of accepting that we might be done with their POVs forever 🫠😂 More recently, Leo’s board had me feeling things 😳 and Phoebe’s from Webs We Weave, all those strawberries! 🍓 I was so intrigued and excited. And how could I forget Nova?! 😩 That was probably the most recent one that gave me that rare “oh my gosh, this is new” feeling, the one that makes you drop everything to dive in 🤍🌀 Now, onto the comic chat 🎤 I finally finished the Krakoan era and let me tell you, bingeing it was the only way 😮‍💨 I would not be able to read in real time the slow downfall of krakoa. The nosedive was unreal 😬 I’d love to hear your thoughts as writers, how did you feel about how they ended it? Because it felt so bloated to me, like they added 20+ unnecessary issues when only 10 were really needed 😑 It took me 98 issues to finish the final leg, and that’s not even counting X-Force or Wolverine, which I skipped 🙅‍♀️ Piercy’s writing just didn’t land. I was so burnt out 🔥 So what did I do? I ran straight back to Power Rangers 🏃‍♀️💨 and my soul was restored 😇💖 PLEASE tell me you’ve started!! After Go! Go! Power Rangers Volume 1, continue with issues 1 to 20, and then jump into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (2016 run). It is SO good 🔥let me know if you want a reading order 😇 Jason, the protagonist, has big Lo energy (he’s slow to trust, a reluctant leader, LOOKS like him too haha) ❤️ Kimberly is Hale-girl approved 💅 and Ben is just 🥺. I know the Hales would love them. If you love New Mutants, ensemble casts, slow-burn worldbuilding, and genuinely earned emotional payoffs, then this is your thing 🫶 It starts off simple, high school kids with powers getting beeped away to save the world, but it grows into something so beautifully complex 🌌 But it’s really Tommy who has our hearts. Xander would LOVE and relate to Tommy sm… Also, Boom Comics doesn’t have a Marvel Unlimited-style app, so I’ve been buying all the hardback omnibuses 🛍️ They’re gorgeous and the quality is amazing 🤩 It’s my first time collecting outside of Marvel or DC and it’s been such a nice shift. Now, reading Nobody Like Us and catching all the Power Rangers references has been ✨destiny✨ Luna’s towel, Xander’s Fanacon outfit, I was screaming 🤯 Did you do that on purpose?! It’s fate I tell you 🌀💫 Lastly, I’ve been SO into Gambit lately 😵‍💫 After reading Rogue & Gambit (the 5-issue Fall of X run), I’m convinced, Gambit is the Donnelly of Marvel 🔥 Their banter?? Off the charts. Ride-or-die for their girls?? Obsessed. They both dip when things get real 🤣 but they’re the definition of non-toxic masculinity 💪💞 That’s my new favourite headcanon. I NEED to know what Donnelly would think of Gambit, I feel like they’d totally get each other 🫱🫲 Anyway! That’s all from me for now 🫶 Can’t wait to hear what you think of Power Rangers, your thoughts on Krakoa’s ending, and of course, more Hales, always and forever 💛 Hope you have a beautiful week! 🌼
