It was the loser of the February poll but a winner in our hearts! The Extra Pod is going to cover a variety of topics. We're opening this post up to any and all questions you may have for us that haven't been answered yet. Whether it's publishing related, book related, character related, pop culture related, anything random -- ask away!

Like always, we'll gather as many questions as we can and answer them on the podcast.

You’ve said before the next books in the CE series will be shorter than BB. Will there still be a lot of scenes between the sibling and cousins? Or should we expect to see less family content?

Random thought, but which pop stars or girl artists do you see matching each girl in the squad, and why? Also, who do you think they’d actually listen to or be fans of? I feel like Vada would love Tate McRae the aesthetics line up so well, and Tate’s music has enough range for Vada to connect to different moods, especially with the album “Think Later” having that sporty theme while still talking about being a girl, having fun, staying out late, and falling in love.

You should do the same.” — was that her realizing for the first time Easton thought she had a crush on Ben or did she actually have a crush on him in anyway and she was embarrassed he didn’t feel the same way?

As Charlie is a romantic, what are his fav/least fav romantic tropes to read about? Does he like to read romance or does it make him feel even lonelier? Does he ever read contemporary/modern releases or does he stick to older ones? I could see him enjoying some recent high brow literary fiction releases from the last few years. How 'high up' is Roxanne in the ballet company? Obviously, Roxanne is called the 'Bad anne', Beth anne is the principal ballerina and Roxanne is an aspiring ballerina from their board descriptions, but is Roxanne as good as Beth anne or close to it? Where does she fall in the company compared to all the female dancers?

Have you guys noticed a difference in readership trends between your traditional and Indie books? I always assumed traditional would be harder to keep readers when there are year gaps between books compared to Indie books usually being half a year. With how people now love instant gratification I wondered if wait times affected sales or if they increase because there is more time for marketing. (Apologies if this is too invasive/stressful to ask!)

Second, why did you decide to make Charlie wear the most jewelry (rings, necklaces etc.) was it just a fit for his character? Would the public react differently to each of the cobalt siblings in relationships? Like would some of the significant others receive hate from fans and which would receive more? I know that you guys have said that fame is less focused on than in the like us series so that’s why in burn bright it wasn’t really mentioned how the public perceived harriet and ben. But i imagine they wouldn’t freak out as much as if it were beckett or charlie for example. Would you guys touch on some of this in some of the other siblings books, especially the ones more in the public eye?

Xander is red, Winnie is baby blue, Easton is grey and black, Roxanne pink, Phoenix deep dark red, Birdie olive green, Rurik is a greyish blue, Guy is indigo like a deep blue

In chapter 11 of mlu, Ben is an environmental science major. In chapter 6 of bb, Ben hasn’t declared a major. Did he revoke his choice or is this just something to ignore? Will we know what he declares?

Do Harriet and Farrow watch the Pitt? What do they think? Also, I’m an emergency medicine attending physician in NYC and I LOVE Harriet’s and Farrow’s medical storylines. Your depiction of Harriet being premed is incredibly accurate compared to what I went through in undergrad. Also, Farrow’s job as a concierge doctor is spot on as to what an emergency medicine physician sees day to day (he’s just doing it outside a hospital setting). I was especially impressed reading how you described the needle thoracostomy in Alphas. If you ever need anything medical fact checked, feel free to message me…I’d love to help 😊

Based on the current timeline, Sully is due to compete in her 3rd Olympics in 2.5 years (as seen in her epilogue). Will we see this mentioned when the timelines align, either in Cobalt Empire or future books? I’m also super excited to see Walsh, Violet, Blue and maybe Elara be born as we move forward.

How do you decide when to make pins public? Sometimes they’ll be crumbs, and other times they’ll be huge drops. Do you ever pin to public boards in real time as you find them, or do you have to consult with each other first to make sure you both agree with the pins? Also, how many characters have boards that are currently hidden?

I was recently listening to an old alternative universe podcast and in real time you guys came up with the idea of Ben, Winona and I think Daisy(??) being the “granola crew”. I was so surprised when listening to this because it was clearly the inspiration for the granola references in Burn Bright (Tom saying that they just had to follow the granola crumbs to find Ben was absolutely heartbreaking). Stephen isolates to engage life on his own terms, whereas Charlie does it because he finds life & humans frustrating. Given that it’s his favorite book, does Charlie see Stephen as a reflection of himself - and, even though he’s highly self-aware and critical of his own character, is there a hidden desire, even a tiny one, for his isolation to feel noble or admirable like Stephen’s? Every single book I've read of yours is so good. I love that you don't rush to get books out and really take the time to make each one the best it can be. I've never been disappointed with a single book I've read from you. I think because you write more character driven books, it makes them so much more enjoyable to read about these characters. There are only so many plots authors can use and then it just gets repetitive, but there are infinite things to experience as people age and grow and live their lives and I never want to stop reading about your world!

Reread Addicted to you, and I wanted to ask if it was intentional to have the sex scenes fade to black. I have a theory that it was because Lily was still deep in her addiction, and as she got lost in the sexual act, we got a version of the scene through this haze (hopefully I’m making sense). Also, I feel like if the sex scenes were fully described, it would have romanticized the situation between them while being so deep in their addictions. Exactly what i thought while watching the show and media was way too hard on carolyn because of how famous JFK Jr. was, and i kinda wonder if that’s the fate of xander and his love interest. I’m really interested to see how Xander’s story will incorporate that side of fame for him and his love interest.

In Burn Bright we got to see Ben reunite with Harriet and Beckett after Alaska. Will they be any bonus scenes in the future where we get to see him reunite with his parents or other family members? I think it would be so beautiful

Yes! I love the Pitt!! I watched all 15 seasons of ER my first year of medical school (probably way too much), but after I started rotations in the hospital my third year I couldn’t watch anything medical related because it was wayyy too inaccurate and just became annoying. Last year my family kept saying I should watch the Pitt, but I resisted hard. Finally in the spring I binged the whole season in a week and I loved it!! It is the most accurate depiction of my job in the ED everrrr. It’s almost like a documentary showing what it was like during my residency, which people assume is an exaggeration, but it’s not!!! Also, I’m not sure if you guys are caught up yet, but the way last week’s episode ended has happened sooooo many times at my job. It causes absolute chaos…I can’t wait for this storyline!!!
