HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Addictedverse, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

How has your year been so far? Any good recommendations heading into March? Books, TV, Movies, Music, Games, etc.

Weekly Recap

Happy Sunday, magical & heroic beauties! We're coming to you this weekend to cap off February's festivities. In our writing world, February is our least favorite month. It goes by far too fast and we feel those missing days!! Did you know, we've never had a book release in February? Maybe our subconscious knows it's not our favorite 😂

So we are happy to be stepping into March tomorrow! Our main writing months this spring are March and April, so we might be less frequent on our socials, but you shall see us beep bopping around here.

We have some fun character art to reveal this month. drum roll...more Lily and Lo!! So be on the lookout for that sometime this March. It's truly spectacular and captures them so well. We are obviously on a character art high this year because we've been commissioning non-stop.

As a reminder: Signed copies of Burn Bright (limited deluxe editions) are available on our store and this first batch of inventory are hand signed. But once those sell out, we'll only have signed bookplates available with the book. So if you're looking for a signed copy, definitely try to snag them as soon as possible. We're not sure how long they'll last. If you didn't know, you can also get character note bookplate add-ons with these too!

In case you missed it, here's everything that dropped this week on Patreon, including a brand spanking new Maximoff & Farrow bonus scene!

Main Bonus: Maximoff and Farrow's New Home

Monthly Podcast: Monthly Podcast #98: Relationships in Burn Bright 🦋 Harriet Fisher with the Cobalts

My year has been pretty good so far! I’m really enjoying the newest seasons of Paradise and the Pitt. bridgerton was also great! And I watched Eternity last night which was soooo funny!!

Marisa

Oh wow the behind the writing podcast sounds soooo good!! I’m excited for that one!!

maría fernanda 🧚🏻‍♀️

lily & lo art?!? oh my!!!!! i can’t wait 😭😭😭 i wish you both the best of luck this spring with your writing!!! I already know you two are going to slaaaaaay it ✨

Samjameskling

Omg was a month!!!! I cannot wait for the lilo art and the bonus chapters!!! AND a LL peak???? AHHHHHHH

Samjameskling

Just finished sex and the city show and films and I adored them so much 😭 the New York vibes just kept bringing me back to Hell’s Kitchen 🥹. Traitors was so good (and so sad), addicted to the Pitt, knight of the seven kingdoms was phenomenal, and now survivor 50 until invincible comes back! Media this year is so good!!

Yasti

Omg I can’t wait for the Loathed Love snippet!! The fact that Audrey’s book is on the horizon is a dream come true 🥹🎀💗 My year has been okay! I’ve been super overwhelmed with uni work/studying but that’s nothing really new 🙂‍↕️ I’m not sure if you guys have seen the latest Knives Out movie but that one was a 10/10 for me! The cinematography is so beautiful :) I’m almost done with Daggermouth by HM Wolfe (dystopian romance) and it’s really good so far! I was watching the new season of Bridgerton and Hyacinth has some Audrey-coded moments which is fun. I love all the little sisters in books and TV so that was all immensely enjoyable for me 😇

Yasti

I’m loving the new season of Bridgerton!! I have two episodes left but so far this season is up there with Season 2 and Queen Charlotte for me 🙂‍↕️💫

Marisa

Yesss. Benedict had my least favorite book, but it is definitely one of the best seasons. Idk if anything will beat Queen Charlotte for me though 👑

M Raj

My year has been quite hard so far. I‘m from Germany and studying to become an elementary school teacher. Right now, I‘ve got exams I need to study for😢 But on the other hand a book I waited years for was published. It is called Quiet Ones by Penelope Douglas. I loved the book so much. Go check it out!😍

maría fernanda 🧚🏻‍♀️

I recently started reading the current run that is out of Supergirl and wow i’m in love with it?! I haven’t started Woman of Tomorrow yet but I heard it makes everyone cry so I’M READY 🙂‍↕️ I can’t wait for her movie this summer!! Bridgerton was so so good! Definitely my new favorite season!! But other than that, i’m patiently waiting for all the superhero movies coming out this summer & end of year!! 🙈💓

shi luvs st.cobalt

2026 has been treating me well for the most part! I think a lot of exciting things that I’ve been waiting for are happening this year, so…that’s pretty incredible! :’) —— I love posts where you ask for recommendations! I go through everyone’s comments and add things to my list (🙂‍↔️)! ~~ 𝗧𝗩: I’ve just been watching “Extracted”, “Survivor” (now that it’s premiered), “9-1-1”, and “The Pitt”! 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘀: I haven’t seen any recently, **but** I’m excited to watch “Forbidden Fruits” when it releases later this month! 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰: I’ve been listening to a lot of Phoebe Bridgers + boygenuis (but that’s nothing new lol 🙂‍↕️). Outside of that, the songs that I’ve had on repeat are: • “Summertime” — My Chemical Romance. • “All These Things That I’ve Done” — The Killers. • “Crush” — Ethel Cain. I’ve also been on an “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” kick these past couple of weeks! :’) I’ve loved the album since its release (so that’s nothing new), but I also feel like it’s aged **so** well?! I love listening to it from front to back. 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀: Fortnite’s new season starts in a couple of weeks (March 19th), so I’m super excited for that! This season hasn’t been my favorite (🙂‍↕️), so I’m excited to see how they change things up! I always love Fortnite’s winter seasons + winter themed POIs the most, so their decision to have the first season of this chapter (that started in **December**) center around beach + summer themes ruined my vibe a little bit not gonna lie (lol). I’m still over the moon about the fact that Chappell Roan is the current festival artist, though! :’) —— I’m excited for everything that’s to come this month! I hope you both have an amazing weekend! ~~ I’m sending hugs, love, and good writing vibes (🤎✨)! ~~

Arrow

I am so looking forward to the next Marrow bonus! I loved the scene you’ve just released. I keep re-reading it! My year so far has centered around this intense winter we are having in the Northeast. So lots of indoor activities right now (although NYC did a stunning job clearing last week’s snow). Here are some things that have been occupying my time: Books: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. This was very good. I’ve also started The Fourth Wing series, but got stuck on the 2nd book (this happens to me sometimes even with great books, especially if the central romance isn’t queer - I feel like Farrow and I have something in common here!) TV: The Pitt, Bridgerton, 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, Once Upon a Time, The Expanse, Dark The Pitt is my top show at the moment. I love this show so much. I really enjoyed this season of Bridgerton a lot. I thought the whole Gun family was just superb. Katie Leung was such a compelling villain. I hope she gets more parts after this. And I thought Yerin Ha as Sophie was brilliant. I’ve really really missed 9-1-1: Lonestar. This was my favorite in the franchise. I’ve been disappointed in the creative choices with this season of 9-1-1 and the new Nashville show, but I feel like both are starting to pick up more steam & getting a bit better, especially last week’s episodes! For me the biggest issue is that it feels like the show is trying to save money by featuring less actors per episode, which cuts down on the ensemble cast feel I love. But last week’s episodes were much more ensemble, which I think made them a lot better (especially 9-1-1. Nashville still needs to work on this a bit). Once is the show I watch when the kids are awake on the weekends. It’s one of the few adult shows that’s generally OK to have on with young kids. I wish we had more shows like this. You have to go back to the 90s and 2000s to find them for the most part. Let me know any Sci-Fi recommendations! I’m very into this at the moment after finishing Foundation. I’m starting The Expanse and Dark, which are good so far. Movies: Weapons (this was soooo good), The Housemaid (also great), and the A Night At The Museum collection (the kids love these because they feature their home museum) I’ve also been very into Legos. I’m hoping to get The Shire Lego set sometime soon & then re-watch the Lord of The Rings extended editions for the big anniversary celebration this year. This ended up being much longer than I thought it would be! Sorry about that.

millie (coballoway's version)

my year has been pretty good so far! I don't have as many classes this semester so I'm feeling a lot more relaxed academically which is nice. I've been obsessively listening to Noah Kahan since he announced his next album. 'Godlight' specifically has been on repeat bc it reminds me a lot of Tom, his relationship with music and the current situation with The Carraways 🎸💜. book-wise, I read and adored Project Hail Mary back in January and I'm super excited for the movie!! I didn't think I liked sci-fi that much (which really doesn't make sense considering I'm a huge science nerd 🙈) but now I really want to read more of the genre! I also enjoyed Nighshade by Autumn Woods and I'm looking forward to the second book! aaaaaahhh even the idea of a Loathed Love snippet is making me sooo giddy!! I still can't believe we're going to be in Audrey's pov so soon! I can't wait!!! 🩷🧁

Jared Povanda

Looking forward to everything this month! As far as books go, I've really been getting into P.G. Wodehouse this year (who is so far from contemporary romance 😂 ) The first few of his early Jeeves and Wooster books are up in public domain on Project Gutenberg, so I've been on a binge. Super British, super funny. I also really loved Mary Renault's The Charioteer, which has the honor of being England's first (traditionally) published gay romance with a happy ending. Really complex and fraught, and philosophically dense, with period-typical writing and attitudes (the book is set during WWII), but there are some scenes that are still haunting me weeks later. Fascinating for the queer historian inside me! But on the romance front Cat Sebastian's Star Shipped is coming out in mere days, and like you and your books, Cat is one of my desert island, emergency-break-glass authors. I've been looking forward to this book for ages, and I'm just so excited to read it. I'm not a big movie watcher, actually. I do a lot of reality shows, though, and I loved the first ep of Survivor 50! And Outlander is returning soon! If I'm watching anything, though, it's going to be Critical Role (like Xander, I'm a huge DnD/TTRPG nerd). Campaign 4 is so, so excellent. Music! Music all the time. I've been listening to a ton of MJ Lenderman, American Football, Searows, Caamp, MARO, and Noah Kahan. Mitski's new album just came out too, but I haven't really sat with it yet. And as for games, I don't game much anymore, but I'm still buzzing about the new Pokémon Gen 10 announcement! Wishing you a great March!

So excited for the Loathed Love snippet! I’ve honestly been in a reading slump (?) this year. My reading tastes have changed a lot I haven’t really been reaching for the contemporary romances/fantasies on my shelf that I’ve loved for years, so I’ve been struggling trying to figure it out what to read now😭. I’ve mainly been reading literary fiction/non-fiction, and have been loving art history and memoirs atm ♡ I def recommend Love Story Fx! It’s the new tv series about JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s romance. It’s very chic🤏

Yasti

Nightshade is so good! I read it in January last year so it feels like I've been waiting for forever for book 2 but we're almost thereeeee 🎉💗

Megan

I just finished watching season one of Black Dagger Brotherhood on passionflix, I've never read the books but I want to start them now!

Miranda

I’ve been loving The Pitt, it’s so good. Also I’m so excited Survivor is finally here it’s been my most waited show.

★

I read Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors last month, and I loved it so, so much. It’s a literary fiction novel about sisterhood, grief and love with incredible prose. It follows three very different sisters all across the world, at different stages of their lives, who come together to grieve the death of their fourth sister. The writing in this book is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever read, and the themes of sisterhood and family meant so much to me! The youngest sister, Lucky, is a blonde, happy/unhappy-girl model who reminds me a lot of Daisy in some ways! The middle sister, Bonnie, is a boxer who gave me so much added appreciation for Joana. They explain how her language is the language of the body, and there’s a line that says “at last, Bonnie has found her feet” when she first learns her stance for boxing, which absolutely moved me😭 You have to try it! It’s a different change of pace for me as I’ve never read literary fiction before, but I am obsessed now!

millie (coballoway's version)

omg you've been waiting so long! I've requested the ARC of Daybreak but I almost hope I don't get approved bc so many people have been waiting so much longer than me 😭

★

You’ll love it, especially as an Addicted fan😭 the eldest sister had elements that reminded me of Rose, too! pls pls pick it up, this is your sign hehe!!💖

★

project hail mary was my irl bookclub pick for this month!! I honestly struggled with the science elements, but I loved Rocky & think the movie will be much more digestible for me😭 I hope you loveeeeee Daybreak! I’m looking forward to it too😭💖

★

Do you think I could watch the SATC movies before the show? This is my sign to finally do it!

Samjameskling

I would highly advise against it tbh! They would spoil everything from the show! The show is also light years better than the films!!!

millie (coballoway's version)

that's totally fair, there was a *lot* of science. and I love Rocky sm too!! I hope you enjoy the movie!

Julia

This year has been busy! I’ve been working 10-15 hours everyday, so I’m just trying to keep my weekends free so I can catch up on sleep and tv and get more reading done and all the fun stuff haha. I finally finallyfstarted watching The Pitt (I watched the first season and caught up on season 2) and I love it!! I also just watched season 4 of Bridgerton, which was good!! I think it’ll be hard to top Queen Charlotte. I love that story so much, partially I think because it spends so much time with the two main characters and less on all the side stories, but also just because the story is great! I also am watching Survivor 50!! I can already tell it’s going to be a great season!! Also, another teaser came out for The Vampire Lestat, and I am absolutely dying for it to be June!!! I started another rewatch while I’m waiting😂 I’m going to have the best summer with Dangerously Ours coming in May, then the Vampire Lestat in June, and then Silver Sweet in August!!😍 For books, besides my Circus is Family reread, I also just read the Game Changers series! I hate third person point of view, so I had to get over that to start the series, but once I got past that, I started and really flew through all the books! I hadn’t read them yet when watching season 1 of Heated Rivalry, so I’m interested to see how/if it’ll be different watching season 2 after having read the books. Question about the character notes for Burn Bright. Would it be possible to purchase the character note bookplate without the book? Since you have limited hand-signed copies of the book in your store, I would feel bad ordering one of those when some people have been waiting to get signed copies of BB from the signed store and aren’t able to attend signings (I have 7 copies of BB lol). Although I would totally order another copy, I just don’t want to take away someone else’s opportunity of getting a signed copy if they don’t have any yet.

Updated: moved post to reply. I figured out why I couldn’t reply. Haven’t been as active on Patreon for a while so I must’ve missed an update. @Shi - I love Phoebe Bridgers!!! One of my most listened to artists. I had not heard of Forbidden Fruits and that looks like it will be good. Going to put in on my watch list. For Games: I’m trying to finish Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at the moment. I’ve been a big Zelda fan for years. Probably because it somewhat aligns with my Lord of the Rings experience preferences. But my older kid recently asked me why she never sees me play Fortnight. May have to give it a go. *Don’t know why, but Patreon isn’t letting me reply to comments at the moment

kiearra 🫧

I recently read To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders, and it’s no exaggeration to say it changed my life lol. It a mxm romance that follows two childhood bestfriends Ellis and Lucky over the course of years. It’s a slowburn! And one of the male leads is autistic, it was fantasticcccc! one of my favorite books in a very long time. truly beautiful writing! 🫶🏽

Maxi

I love that book, too. Coco Mellors has another one: Cleopatra and Frankenstein which I would recommend as well.

★

Perfect, thank you for the insight! I’ll start with the show☺️

shi luvs st.cobalt

@Arrow Mine wasn’t working either! When I attempted to respond to your comment, it just spammed my response as a regular comment (😭). I’m attempting to use the website now instead of the app, so fingers crossed that everything goes well (🙂‍↕️). —— Phoebe is **SO** incredible! I was blessed to have her as an opener @ The Eras Tour (I squealed when I saw that she was one of the opening acts for MetLife 😭🤎). I felt like I was witnessing an ethereal woodland fairy in real life, she’s so amazing. The transition from “Down With The Sickness” (which is the song that she and her band walked out to) into “Motion Sickness”…I just love her. Have you listened to her group stuff with Lucy Dacus + Julien Baker (👀)? I loveeee their stuff together as well, long live boygenius. :’) ~~ —— I really need to check out the Zelda franchise! I have a friend that **adores** them as well! I also **love** Fortnite! I’ve been playing since 2020, so I’ve loved seeing the game evolve over the years! :’) There are soo many things to do within the game as well — there’s the standard Battle Royale modes that the game is known for, but there’s also a rock band + guitar hero-esque mode, etc. There’s something for everyone (imo)! I’ve always considered myself as being more of a cozy gamer, but I’ve found myself branching out more this past year (which has been fun)! :) 🤎🤎🤎

shi luvs st.cobalt

I **love** “Godlight” (and Noah in general)! The Pitt edits that I’ve seen of Langdon + “Godlight” have wrecked me (😭😭).

Jess

We are working on gaining our footing after a rough end to 2025. I loved The Ascended by Parker Lennox and The Everlasting by Alix Harrow. I can't believe I get to meet you both in a little over 3 months!!!

Phoebe

LILO art. ❤️❤️❤️ I’d love to see art of the whole addicted/like us verse in one big group family portrait like the cobalts one. That’d be so cool.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Hi Julia!! To answer your question: You can email our store manager (kbr.authorstore@gmail.com) and let her know you already have multiple signed copies and would like to purchase just the character note bookplate. She'll help you out! 🩷🩷 Sending allllll the stress-free vibes your way! I love that you use the weekends to decompress and catchup on all the things you love. Queen Charlotte is Krista's favorite too! She finally convinced me to watch it, and I LOVEEEED IT! I agree that it's the best thing. I haven't finished the new episode drops of Bridgerton, but it's my favorite season of the series so far. Survivor 50 is already epic! I have high hopes too! xoxo B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Sending lots and lots of love your way, Jess *hugs so tight* So excited to finally see you in person! xoxo B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

All your book recs sound so good! I loveeee the cover for Star Shipped. I haven't read a Cat Sebastian novel, but I def need to now. Survivor 50 is already *chef's kiss* xo B

Krista & Becca Ritchie

I love The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! I think about it often. Ah I love that you love 9-1-1 Lonestar! It was by far my favorite of all the 9-1-1's. I need to give Nashville another shot. I felt ho-hum after a couple episodes and stopped watching. Yeah, this season for 9-1-1 (the OG) does feel like they're centered on about two actors and everyone else feels super background. I still need to watch the most recent episode. So many have said it's good! This is a movie, but if you haven't seen I Am Mother, it's really good and more underrated. And I still love The 100, even if some seasons aren't as good as others. I miss shows like it. If you've never seen Battlestar Galactica, it's amazing. I rewatched it all out a few years ago, and it was as good as I remembered.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

The surfing on Fortnite kills me. I thought it was fun the first time, but I much prefer being dropped by the bus in the sky 😆 That reminds me I need to watch Extracted!!!

Krista & Becca Ritchie

I think my comment disappeared, but if this is a double comment, just ignore! I said that I love the whole Knives Out franchise! I haven't seen the third one yet, but now I can't wait to. I loved the first two movies!

Krista & Becca Ritchie

I loved Eternity too! I didn't realize it was more of a comedy, so it took me by surprise in the best way. It kind of reminded me of Bedazzled, which I adore 💗

Marisa

Yes!!

Arrow

I have not seen I Am Mother (that looks so good!!!) or The 100 (I’ve been meaning to start this one but keep forgetting). I am an OG Battlestar Galactica fan. I LOVE that show so much. Bear McCreary, the main composer for the Foundation soundtrack actually started his career with Battlestar Galactica and I swear this is subconsciously why I like Foundation so much (I tend to get really into movie soundtracks, especially Sci-Fi/Fantasy)

★

I hope you love it! I loved being in a female boxer’s POV, it made me even more excited for Joana hehe😋💖 their work ethic deserves so much praise!

Arrow

The Eras Tour show with Phoebe opening sounds incredible!!! I haven’t listened to her group yet, but definitely will now! I’ve been a Nintendo gamer forever and haven’t branched out too much beyond that. Zelda BOTW and TOTK are just such comfort games for me. I love the world-building and that you can just explore the whole fantasy kingdom. And the animation is so pretty!

Haylee

I’ve been obsessed with interview with the vampire (tv series). It’s a beautiful chaotic gothic romance. Very Eliot Cobalt coded Been in a bit of a reading slump so if anyone has any recs pleaseee let me know. Gonna be scouring these comments for some too! xx

.

Cant wait for lilo Art omg

.

I miss luna omg can we go back to her pov too

Marisa

Thanks for the recommendation @Jared! I just saw a post on The Ripped Bodice’s Instagram that Cat Sebastian is doing a Q&A and signing later in the month, and I remembered that you had mentioned their book on Fizz Hangout, so I got a ticket. I’ve never read any of their books so I’m excited to see what they’re about!

Jared Povanda

Oh my gosh! That's so exciting! I hope you love the Q&A and her work. I feel like I'm always pushing Cat's books into people's hands. Star Shipped is her first contemporary, but if you're into historical at all, I highly recc We Could Be So Good and You Should Be So Lucky (both set in 1950s/1960s NYC). Her books are just so...tender. Real love letters to the importance of care. Her writing always makes me believe in the possibility of a kinder world, so I hope her books work for you!

Marisa

That’s so nice! I’m looking forward to trying her out!
