We teased this little bit of Loathed Love on @kbr.universe yesterday to prepare for all the Loathed Love countdown celebrations! And we wanted to share more of the excerpt here on Patreon! So without further wait, here's a tiny excerpt from Audrey & Birdie's upcoming romance (we love their banter so much 🥰).

EXCERPT

“How many ridiculous hills have you stood and died on?”

“Zero. They’ve all been absolutely pertinent, though their pertinence is likely to escape you.”

“Absolutely pertinent,” I repeat with the shake of my head—but me saying it isn’t the same. I can’t capture the exact rhythmic cadence of her voice. It’s unique. A smooth, measured pattern with weight on certain words. Passionate inflection here and there.

Her face begins to flame. “Now you’re going to make fun of the way I speak.”

I choke out a noise because I wasn’t. If anything, I was about to compliment her lack of vocal fry—but fuck that.
