Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Addictedverse, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

Brand new TV shows and new seasons are dropping for the fall! Which shows are you currently tuning into or anticipating? We highly recommend checking out Line of Fire on Peacock (NBC) if you like family dramas. Only the pilot is out, but the character relationships and sibling bonds are already top tier. It's a "crime show" but we were pleasantly surprised that it leaned into the relationships between the family more than the crime plot. We love deep character building and relationship dynamics more than any plot, so this was up our alley! And it very much reminds us of nostalgic network TV. The creator was an executive producer and writer on Gossip Girl, and if you love 9-1-1, Peter Krause is the dad in Line of Fire. So it has so many great things going for it to possibly be an amazing season of TV!

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! The weather is finally taking a turn here, although we're scared it might be "false fall" and we'll be back to sweltering temps soon. Fingers crossed the breeze is here to stay in Georgia!

The Read Along for Burn Bright is still going strong, so this Sunday, you can expect another mini-podcast drop on Patreon for the next set of chapters. This time, Cardboard Ben will show his face! We got him in the frame hehe. Having a Cardboard Cobalt brings us back to Cardboard Connor days and Nobody Like Us.

Another reminder, Special Editions of the Addicted Series preorder ends September 30th. Eternal Embers is also hosting a Giveaway for three sets of the special editions on their Instagram, which you can find here, and that also ends the same day too.

The merch for Tom & Phoenix art bundle has arrived! So you can expect that to appear on the store shortly. We'll make a separate post on Patreon when Tom's beautiful face graces the store. Also so many of you have been asking if there will be a Special Edition for Silver Sweet. And while there won't be one from The Love Story Society, there is one in the works from another romance book box! And the cover art is so beautiful! Release date is TBA, but we're so happy that Tom & Phoenix are going to get a special edition too.

For Loathed Love, next week is the start of Audrey x Birdie art reveals for Cobalt Wednesdays. We can't wait to share all the beautiful Audie art! Like for Silver Sweet, we'll also be doing Teaser Tuesdays on Patreon as well, so the countdown to Loathed Love has almost begun!

Thanks for the TV rec! I’ve been looking for shows to watch recently but haven’t really found anything that interests me 😇 Omg I can’t wait for the SS book box edition! This is the best news! 😍😍 And the Audie art reveals! 🥹⛲️💕

Nothing new as of now, but my annual twilight rewatch is happening as well as watching DWTS every Tuesday! My Halloween movie marathon will start in October!

Silver sweet SE!?! Can’t wait to see it! 🤭👀

Marisa

I’ve gotten really into DWTS this season. Talking about the episodes in the chats with other Patreons has made it especially fun. I have been binging 9-1-1, which has been so much fun. I just finished season 4 of 9-1-1 and I’m midway through season 2 of Lonestar (I just watched the episode where grace and Judd go off the bridge, that was great). I am guessing Peter Krause is no longer on 9-1-1 since you said he’s on a new drama. Now I’m super curious how he’s going to die 😂 Kinda feel bad for Athena though. I’m not surprised he’s on another great family centered show, did you guys see Parenthood? He was really good on that. I also saw you guys talking about Adults in the chats a few weeks ago and I ended up binging that in like 3 days. AMAZING. I need another season immediately.

OO! I’m glad you enjoyed the “Line of Fire” pilot! I started it, but had to pause it, so I still have to finish it! I’m currently juggling **a lot** of shows at the moment (🙂‍↕️). 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: • Big Brother • DWTS. This is the first season that I’m tuning in for and I’m **obsessed**! • Survivor 51. This cast seems interesting — and potentially chaotic — based off of the first episode. I have high hopes (🤞)! • Sterling Point. I’ve been stuck on episode 5 for a week or so because I don’t want to catch up and finish it (🙂‍↕️). • Adults 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: • 9-1-1! I miss my firefighter family so much! :( October 15th hurry up, please, I’m begging… • The Amazing Race I’ve also been searching for another survival reality show to watch. Now that it’s starting to cool down outside I’m hankering for one. “Extracted” Season 3 probably won’t air until 2027, so I need something to hold me over until then *cue me begging the TV gods to drop something*. —— I’m SO excited for the Tom + Phoenix art bundle and the special edition of SS! This is the BEST news, I’m over the moon (🥹🤎)! I’m also excited for the podcasts + art reveals + bonus that are still to come! <3 I hope you both have a great weekend! Sending all of the hugs and love your way (🫂✨)! ~~

Hi girls, happy Sunday! 🍂 Hope you're both doing great, especially as we head into spooky season 🎃 What's on the TBR List and & Spooky Recs! Everything on my radar right now is prioritising spooky TV and film. I'm just finishing The Pitt, which I've been raving about for the last few hangout sessions, and after that I'm watching Lanterns, which I'm SO excited for. I love the trajectory HBO is on with their shows. I haven't seen Supergirl so I can't speak to that, and I know it was hit and miss, but The Penguin still lives rent free in my mind 🐧 If you haven't watched it, it's such a good spooky season rec, because it's a Gotham show without Batman in it. The side stories are so good and it taps into one of the GOAT comics, Batman: The Long Halloween, and its characters. The female lead is literally chef's kiss 👌 She's giving Bent-Neck Lady from The Haunting of Hill House. Not the same character at all, but the concept and the eeriness are in that vein, and I think you'd love her. What I love most is how Gotham itself functions as ambience AND as a secondary protagonist. That whole pocket universe the director is building is so good, so definitely watch it! Gen z Ghost Hunters Rec: Sam and Colby on Netflix! Also on my watchlist: I don't know if you've ever come across Sam and Colby on YouTube, but they're sort of Gen Z ghost hunters who came up through Vine and TikTok 👻 They're very cool and genuinely respectful about the paranormal stuff, which I appreciate. They do an annual Hell Week where they post a new haunted house visit every day, and this year they're premiering it with Netflix, so I'll be tuning in. I still haven't seen Resident Evil, because I have literally no friends who want to see it or who haven't already seen it without me 😭 So I'm waiting for streaming. Have you watched it yet? Let me know what's on your spooky watch list this month! re: Farrow's dichotomy between being a stoic and being the most passionate <3 On a slightly different thread: I've been rereading a lot of Alphas Like Us, because watching The Pitt has put me in a very Farrow-minded world 💜 As someone who's passionate, quick to cry, and pretty deep in my emotions, I love the dichotomy of Farrow being so logical, almost aloof, sometimes properly stoic, very much in the Marcus Aurelius Meditations way that Moffy reads. I love exploring that balance. In the last few bonus chapters dedicated to Farrow/Moffy, you've been delving into it a bit, like when he talks to his parents, or when he got ill, and we see him in positions where he can't be purely stoic and can't be purely logical, because he isn't a bot, he feels things and deeply. That's such an interesting environment to put him in. Re: Farrow being a Hale but low key he be Cobalt Coded??? The other thing I find fascinating is that Farrow is so Ravenclaw coded. He's incredibly smart and has a photographic memory, but he doesn't brand himself as an intellectual the way the Cobalt brothers do 🧠 That's so attractive to me and such a brain wrinkly concept. He's a medic who's never struggled academically, from a family where everyone is deeply Ravenclaw, and yet he doesn't want to be defined by being smart. It's the same thing from the Alphas chapter where he admits that being gay isn't the most interesting thing about him. It's an important thing to know about him, but it isn't his headline, and constantly having to reintroduce himself that way annoys him because it's reductive. Being a doctor clearly matters to him, but the photographic genius side feels like a means to an end rather than a brand, which is exactly the opposite of how the Cobalts operate. Re: Charlie and Farrow Which brings me to my last point, especially after the latest podcast, which I did tune into! I'm always slightly wary of the deep dive behind the scenes podcast episodes, because for me it's a bit like looking behind the curtain 🎭 Some people love a director's commentary, but it can break the suspension of disbelief for me. SOMETIMEs. But what I found really interesting is Charlie Cobalt, who's also a genius but does nothing with it that we know of. I genuinely don't know what he's doing beyond wandering the world. I'd hope he's self-conscious about it, because we've seen the cracks, like when he calls his father, or when he's stuck in the lift and claustrophobic. He knows he's vulnerable, so he's not a straight-up delusional narcissist. The things he does, like throwing objects and books while Moffy sleeps, I'm sure he knows he's choosing to be that, but I don't think he knows who he is. I think his parents know that too, though we won't really know until we get his POV in full. It's such an interesting idea though, because he could probably solve world hunger if he felt like it. Moffy is also extremely intelligent and went the altruistic route with his philanthropy, and I'm not saying everyone has to be a philanthropist, but it reminds me of the Twilight thing you mentioned with New Moon, where they just redo high school over and over 🧛 It became an inside joke, but honestly, what a waste of immortality. If you're immortal, why not be a medic, why not help the government, why not write books, be creative, be of service in some way? (The All Souls series by Deborah Harkness, who's an academic herself, really indulges that idea with vampires. Another great spooky read for this season, by the way! It's so Practical Magic coded and you'd love it. It's one of my favourite series, right alongside Realm of the Elderlings, the Brandon Sanderson universe, and you two). They're all webs and nets of each other in my head 🕸️ So yeah, we don't actually know what Charlie does with his intelligence or whether he wants to do anything with it, or if he's just letting it waste away watching Beckett perform and hopping from Prague to France to wherever. I like to think he's aware of it, because that makes him a far more interesting character. And going back to Farrow, it's interesting that he COULD be in the Pitt, saving lives, chasing a Nobel, and chooses the shape of life he has instead. Re: Signed book store! Anyway, these are such fun brain worms to chew on 🐛 I hope you have a lovely week! I'm waiting to buy book two, Silver Sweet, on the signed page, because I love Tom so much. You write gay relationships so freaking well, I think you're my favourites, and honestly I barely read any others, so I do have a bit of confirmation bias. I'm aware of it. It would not stand up in court ⚖️😂 But I'm so excited for it! Re In Sum: Autumnal / October spooky recs from me: Realm of the Elderlings, especially the first trilogy, the Farseer trilogy. My boy Fitz is the most queer written character you could ever imagine, and I'll leave that there as a tease 👀 Also Lanterns, which is blowing up my FYP and has DC circles in a frenzy, The Long Halloween, and The Penguin if you haven't watched it yet. Lots of love to everyone, and especially to you girls 💕

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Yes we've seen Parenthood! And Six Feet Under. We really love Peter Krause. He's amazing!! Love you're still on the 9-1-1 binge! I still miss Lonestar. Eek omg I loveeee that you enjoyed Adults so much! The second season was so stellar. Apparently they made a new pilot episode and added it. I still need to watch that one, but Krista said it was really good too.

Marisa

The new pilot was one of my favorite episodes. I had no idea it was new, when I watched it, Hulu had it as episode 1 so there was no reason to believe it hadn’t always been the pilot. It absolutely got me hooked on the show. You’ll love it.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

We are TV twins (or triplets 😂) We watch all the same things! This is also the very first season of DWTS I've watched! I got sad about SYTYCD being over, and I decided to tune in this season after watching the "Next Pro" competition on Disney+, and it's been really fun! I actually think this season of Big Brother might be one of my favs in a while. It was so twisty and turny with the results. It felt like I never knew what was gonna happen (and still kinda don't!) Usually at this point, it gets kind of slow, but it's still top tier. I also love the bookend themes of the relationships happening too this season (like with Drew and the phone calling Melody). It feels cinematic. Survivor 51 is already starting off so good! I'm even more hyped for this season. I'm really excited about Amazing Race. I think they're going to a country they've never been to this season, which'll be so cool. I loved Extracted! I watched it after your rec, and the whole gameplay mixed with survival was so much fun. Hope you've had an amazing weekend too, Shi! 🫂🫂

shi luvs st.cobalt

I second allllllll of your Big Brother comments (🙌)! I sometimes struggle with BB towards the end of the season as well. Once the housemates start dwindling, episodes sometimes feel emptier and more filler-like? I’m glad the current houseguests are still talking game at this point in the season! The strategy aspect of the show is still alive and well! ~~ Melody + Drew have also been a HUGE highlight for me this season! :’) I’ve had friends that don’t even watch Big Brother message me about them because of the edits that they’ve been seeing on their FYPs lol. —— Ahh, I’m so glad that you enjoyed Extracted! I love that show so much! The challenges that the families go through are one of my favorite aspects of the show. Seeing them form their own alliances + decide how to work through things in general — all while fighting for their loved ones’ survival in the game — is so fun. I also appreciate the different bonds that are featured on the show! The father daughter duo that were attempting to work on their rocky relationship — at the request of their wife / mother who was attempting to survive the wilderness — was an interesting subplot in the 1st season.

Krista & Becca Ritchie

Oh I definitely need to check out The Penguin! I never got around to watching that, and I'd totally forgotten about it! But October is the perfect time for it for the vibes, and you definitely sold me on it by mentioning Haunting of Hill House. Love reading all your Farrow thoughts & insights! Every time we get an itch to write medical things, we think of him (and now Harriet!) 🥰 Hope you've been having a wonderful September!! Sending lots of love back to you, always *hugs tight* ❤️❤️ xoxo B

Chassidy Matthews

Hi Krista and Becca, Could a possible bonus from the Burn Bright timeline be Ben beating up Wionna’s bully and the aftermath from the family’s POV? Especially Moffy, Rose, Ryke, and Connor.
